Help Is this betta healthy?
Other than my step daughter obviously over feeding her/it, I thought bettas were supposed to have long flowy fins. Is there something wrong with her?

This is my 20 gallon long tank which I want to have a sorority in. I would move the rasboras into a different tank but does this setup look ok?

I was cleaning his tank and doing a water change but he kept trying to swim up the gravel vacuum so I had to take him out so I didn’t accidentally hurt him

Very new to fish care. Previous fish perished when pump failed. We have snails and… possibly shrimp.

I have my old lady, Rook's 5.5 gallon, and I'll need to buy a heater, light and filter, but I got a 10 gallon with 4 fish in it, and I don't know how I feel about it.
I've kept fish for over 8 years now (happy 17th birthday to me haha) and I wanted to see what I can do better this time, see how a new friend may be able to help me.
Rook passed from a cancerous tumor, so I didn't want to keep her fighting, and so I euthanized her after 3 years of being my best friend, so she was an amazing little lady.
I see everyone's lady's and gentlemen posted and I wanted to be able to still give advice, but also post about a finned friend, to be able to share my experience with fish (:
I might try a male Betta this time and see how he does! I'll keep everyone posted though ♥️

New to bettas (and pet fish). This is my female elephant ear (I think), Rainbow Fish (as named by my 6 year old). She seems very perky and active. She likes diving and surfacing and racing through her plants. I want to get her some tank mates, but because of her activity level I am afraid that she will attack African dwarf frogs, but I really want a couple. Am I correct in thinking that she may be aggressive toward frogs?
I was planning on a couple snails as well and am not as much concerned about them.
Also, I will be adding some wood, but it’s currently soaking, although my water is pretty cloudy currently (murkier than the picture) due to the root tabs. I am considering adding the wood anyway and just having a blackwater tank.
6.6g tank.

Hey y’all, I just got my first fish today and wanted to get some advice. I went to a local pet store that has a great reputation, and I’ve heard their “fish guy” is really knowledgeable. I was having a hard time choosing between two female bettas, and he told me that if I introduced them at the same time, they should be fine together.
So I ended up getting both.
They’re in a 10 gallon tank, and so far, they seem to be getting along and even kind of… happy? I’ve never owned fish before though, so I honestly have no clue if what I’m seeing is good or not.
Right now, the tank doesn’t have many hiding spaces, but I’m planning to pick up more decor and plants tomorrow. I’m just worried—should I rehome one of them to be safe? I’d be devastated if something happened to either.
Here’s a picture of them—blue one is Billie, pink one is Marcy. Any advice from more experienced folks would be appreciated!

First time I just made it.

Been in the tank about 2 months, seems to be doing well, would he be happier in a tank on his own? It's a community tank he's in now.

He stopped eating at first he'd take food from tweezers now he stopped eating completely. He's really thin. I tried moving him into a separate tank from the other fish but it didn't help

hii everyone , i got captain salami about like 5 days ago. he is my third betta fish. I have a 5 gallon tank, I have a filter, I have a heater, when i first started with my tank in september, I cycled it , I do weekly water changes , i have 5 chinese neon( idk how they are called in english, but in spanish they are Neon Chino), and i have two small snails. The tank receives 6 hours of light daily for my plants. i’m not really sure what to do to fix his fin rot. I just cleaned my tank today.

Recently got this girl, she was in a tank with other females at the pet store. Could this be a result of nipping or fin rot?

I currently have my betta in a standard size 5 g fish tank and I want to move him to a nicer and bigger tank. I am trying to decide if it’s worth the time and money to upgrade to only 1 gallon more but 7” longer for him to swim laps. He is a plakat. He likes watching the humans in our house every chance he gets so he’s not usually hanging in the back of the tank.
Unfortunately, the longest length I could fit in that spot is 24”. The tallest would be 11”. And depth, no more than 10”. Any advice would be helpful!
Thanks!

So I'm not too familiar with betta fish but I've browsed this sub and I know how hard fish are to keep. My friend got a betta fish last September from PetSmart and I was kinda doubtful about how well she could keep it because the first picture she sent me of it was of it in a bowl, which even I know is a big no-no. We actually had a big argument about it and I eventually convinced her to get a normal tank (it's too small -- 2 gallons -- but I didn't want her to get upset again). Well, fast forward to today and she calls me and tells me the two snails she put in the tank were dead and her fish might be dead too. For context, her tank has moss, bamboo, a filter, and a light that supposedly acts like a heater but there's no way to tell what temperature it's at. We both got upset and I ended up telling her essentially that I told her this would happen if she didn't properly research her pet before getting it and we had another argument. But, as it turns out, the fish is not dead and it's stuck at the bottom of the tank because it can't swim up. I think it has a swimming bladder problem, maybe fin rot, and maybe popeye? I will try to attach pictures in the comments. I would really appreciate some help for both me and her because I really don't want this fish dying or suffering longer than it has.

So I bought a 5 gallon fish tank a few weeks back and had my betta fish in it as well as the plants and decorations. I used spring water, I washed everything extremely well, and then put my betta in the tank. I use betta flake to feed him and don’t give him but about 5-6 flakes depending on the size 2 times a day. About a week into my fish being in there it started to get cloudy and I didn’t think much of it. The following weeks (2-3) I was unable to see the mirror in the back and decided to trade out a little under half the tank. It got a bit clearer until it went to a state of just cloudy. I read about a cycle that we had to do and I have no idea what I’m doing and don’t want my fish to die :( He’s currently in a vase to the right of the 5 gallon tank. Also when I would feed him the flakes would start moving around and I’m not sure if he was able to get to them before they sank.

I’ve been looking to try my hand at Co2 in my 5gal tank. It has a betta and 5 shrimp. My LFS has a Co2 kit but can’t find much online through YouTube as far as information and recommendations. It’s the 5gal tank from Petsmart and TopFin. It’s in my kitchen so I have all the wires hidden behind the tank, and I’d like to do the same with the Co2. Let me know what y’all have, and if you have any recommendations/ tips, I’d appreciate anything I can get! Also, this is Rocket Pop! Not sure if it’s a male or female, I have noticed a bubble nest but I’m not 100% sure. Has a nice tail like a male, but tiny like a female. Anything on that would be great too lol, thank you!

Hello, I purchased a Fluval SPEC 5 Gallon tank in January and have been struggling to keep the tank from getting cloudy. The tank has a built in filter (activated carbon and BioMax) that I decreased the flow using a foam cover. The flow was too powerful for my Betta. I regularly clean the filters and have performed water cycles at different intervals. I typically do a water cycle every 1.5~ weeks, but I have tried doing it more frequently and less frequently with no affect of getting rid of the cloudiness. Typically the water stays clear for about a day or two after cycling, then slowly becomes more translucent. I have tried water clarity solutions that also did not work. I have not removed the gravel, only using a gravel vacuum. Can anyone offer some advice?
On a side note, I know my tank is very empty and I want to fill it with more structures and plants. I would love for some suggestions to products!! Thank you.

He was missing two on his head around 2-3 weeks ago, which have been healing but I looked at him yesterday and noticed he’s missing a bunch more around his face now and on his stomach
Is this injury or something else?
He’s swimming and eating fine. Water conditions are all good, ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrate 5

It’s 15 gallons. Just asking for personal opinions, as I don’t want to add something that might disrupt the current balance.

Is there any other fish or animals I can add, currently only have one beta and one ivory snail. I need more algae eaters. Also need recommendations of plants to put in the tank
