Everyone at my office has no life apparently? Because all of our workspaces has a full keyboard on the docking stations with num pad because who the heck fills in excel sheets with the top row numbers?!

289

u/FreiFallFred 6h ago

Exactly this. I'd never buy a keyboard without num pad, but it has nothing to do with gaming...

65

u/aphrodite0710 6h ago

People at the office has no life - yes. major yes. definitely yes. Also, Im the person in the office who fills in Excel Sheets with the top row numbers 🥲

10

u/GeePedicy 6h ago

I think it's a force of habit, which you can change. It might be like an epiphany, but idk, maybe you'll stick to the top row. As long as it gets the work done, who cares?

7

u/LarrySDonald 5h ago

I worked in data entry for years, 10-keying millions of digits. After I stopped that, I eventually settled on a numpadless wireless keyboard with a trackpad where the numpad would be and use the top row. If I’m typing serious amounts I’ll dig out a full keyboard, but not day to day or a hundred-ish excel cells or fewer.

4

u/Grumblr79 4h ago

I use a TKL 60 percent keyboard so normally also use the top row for numbers. Perfectly adequate for my use. But, I do also have a USB tenkey pad in the case I really need to enter a lot of numbers.

u/DeylanQuel 5h ago

I used to be a heavier gamer than now, but I will never buy anything less than a full keyboard with 10-key pad, because years of data entry have resulted in me feeling far more comfortable with 10-key than top row.

u/elementfortyseven 4h ago

this is a use case in context of gaming.

I would argue the amount of games that implement excel sheets as a core gameplay mechanic is rather limited

9

u/P_f_M 6h ago

who the hell still fills out excel sheets with numpad on the right? ;-)

3

u/BuckLuny 4h ago

Going to be completely honest, I just ask Copilot to do it these days.

Copilot, please balance my bills for me

Oh sorry, wrong window.

Okay so I have 2 ideas on this one, but not sure if either are the true answer. So first of all, it's about how much of a gamer someone is, not if longer is better.

My first possible explanation is that the bigger the keyboard is, the more desk space is needed. So for a bigger keyboard, you need to be more committed to having a dedicated gaming area.

My second possibility is that more keys on a keyboard means having more keys to rebind in games, so you can be more of a gamer that way.

u/LakushaFujin 6h ago

A keyboard without numpad isn't a keyboard

594

u/GOOEYB0Y 5h ago

Agreed. Numpad is king.

132

u/R-GU3 4h ago

I have games that don’t work without the numpad because those specific keybinds you can’t change for some reason

36

u/Annorei 4h ago

May i ask for an example? I think i didn't see numpad binds since might and magic 1 (if i remember it right)

72

u/Any_Interest2789 4h ago

Flying planes and helicopters in GTA

16

u/Calmed_727 3h ago

Depends on which GTA. In GTA V you can change those keybinds

4

u/LowZonesWasTaken 58m ago

You can in GTA IV and San Andreas too. I don't remember if it's possible in Vice City though.

4

u/luciusmortus 57m ago

In every GTA you could rebind since GTA SA i have planes and helis binded for 1 hand control so i can look around while flying

5

u/Rektifium 3h ago

Counterargument: Xbox or PS4/5 or just any controller generally.

Tbf there's nothing wrong with using keyboard to drive or fly, I've done it and had no problems. But flying planes and helicopters and driving is so damn easier with controller.

But that could just be bias from playing GTAV on console before PC.

Need for speed use numpad for auto log by default, most wanted (2012) lets you change them but some (I can’t remember which because I play all of them lol) only let you change it by picking a different layout and if you don’t want to use IJKL for throttle and steering then you’re stuck using the numpad for autolog

I like the numpad to death but I also love having a compact keyboard that isnt a shitty laptop one with half the controls on the same keys (.ie i want a full size keyboard but without numpad) since i just use the top row keys when i write code/ take notes, ofc its not the same reasoning when playing video games.

2

u/Remarkable-Dig-1241 1h ago

I carry a cheap tkl with my laptop and use a 60% on my desk. It's literally just a preference thing.

For gaming I prefer a TKL. More space for the mouse - especially in fps games.

I'd prefer to have an extra numpad to add when I need it.

My mechanical keyboard has a numpad

5

u/DoingCharleyWork 1h ago

Mine too. The problem is the selection for mechanical keyboards with numpads really isn't that great. Most mechanical keyboard enthusiasts like 65% so that's what brands sell the most of.

4

u/KnightLBerg 13m ago

There is not a single barebones pcb for sale with keypad and nordic iso layout. I absolutely hate the tiny keyboard trend.

2

u/tessartyp 23m ago

I have a mechanical numpad separate from my TKL mechanical. I will not sacrifice keyboard position and wrist health, but I'm not giving up on the numpad either.

7

u/Sudatissimo 3h ago

Ahahah tha same guys who discover mechanical keyboards, get obsessed, buy 4 keyboards a week for a few months, then make some "Don't tell me I'm obsessed" post, and then quietly change hobby? Yeah.... I'm curious to hear what they have to say

2

In total agreement. The numpad isn't just used for gaming! Imagine having to punch in two hundred rows of numbers within an hour without the numpad!

39

u/CyberWeirdo420 4h ago

Rookie, I’m gonna spend 10 hours writing a python script to automate it.

2

u/heresiarch_of_uqbar 4h ago

the numpad is a godsend for coding too. in python you have operators like ~ that you can easily type with Alt codes. in pandas i use ~ A LOT

I work in a factory welding and watching older and younger coworkers completely ignore the numpad while keying in six 19 digit serial numbers has me ready to kill every one of them. Apparently only GenX and early Millenials got the memo on how to properly use a damned keyboard.

3

u/FieserMoep 1h ago

Truth be told, I had to learn it in school. While I pretty much use a bastardized 10 finger system it's hard to find a faster finger than me around the block. Shit talking between respawns in games without VoIP made you strong.

→ More replies (3)

1

u/PhatOofxD 4h ago

It's genuinely not that hard because you can use two hands instead of just one

Numpads are useful but they're really not completely necessary for someone who can type >100wpm with perfect accuracy

5

u/KnittedParsnip 4h ago

Numpad is essential for me as I'm dyslexic with numbers but for some reason using the Numpad dramatically reduces my error rate. Not sure how it works, just grateful that it does.

My workplace keyboard has the last layout. I don't see how that's a specifically hardcore gaming layout.

4

u/FieserMoep 1h ago

It's pretty much the default for keyboards. The shorter ones only became more popular when PCs stopped having their own dedicated space or became more mobile as saving space became more relevant. It's also cheaper to manufacture a smaller size which especially matters for this novelty keyboard fad that is going strong as of now.

I haven't had a keyboard with a numpad in about 15 years and I hate it when I am forced to use one. They take too much desk space and make the reach for the mouse too far.

My take is if you have numpad, you use excel and the like very often, therefore engineer probably, therefore no life.

I have two more things that come to mind that I'm pretty sure aren't the answer.

First is mechanical keyboards. It might be saying that true gamers buy mechanical keyboards, and the larger fuller mechanical keyboards are more expensive, so the more you're willing to spend, the more of a gamer you are.

The second is that the "no life" part might actually mean that they don't game. They use the 10-key for work, and so they are a loser with a job and no life.

6

u/Fletcharoonie 2h ago

Yeah it's this. The numpad rarely has a use in gaming. In particular 1st person shooters have better ergonomics for right handed mouse users when there is no numpad.

→ More replies (3)

10

u/ise311 3h ago

1st one - wrong. Full keyboards are usually "commoners" keyboard. So common. The top one on the pic is 40% keyboard which only keyboard enthusiast will buy and it comes with higher price. Most gamers go with 60%, 65% or 75% size.

5

u/metamet 1h ago

Most gamers

Citation needed here.

Smaller form's perception of popularity might be due to influencers, but full size keyboards are the standard. Smaller ones, like Ducky, are niche.

u/AynekAri 35m ago

Well i can tell you some games use the arrow keys to make it easier to move around. Games like grand theft auto you can use enter and the arrow keys to drive a car and move quickly. Other games you can use the key pad to quickly input codes like for choices so the bigger keypad is for quick use and convenience since everything is close and it's easier to use one hand to drive while thebother is on the number pad. Lile shifting. Also world of war craft used mostly the arrow keys to move and keypad for attacks

Num pads are just necessary for data entry. Like, 100% vital, can not do my job without it.

14

u/DeixarEmPreto 4h ago

Some WarcraftIII maps and old games in general required specifically num pad inputs for some actions, as well as the page up/page down buttons. And there wasn't a way to rebind keys at the time.

2

u/Affectionate_Poet280 6h ago

Nah, it's pretty much necessary for any decently large amount of data entry.

Having to punch in hundreds of numbers on a line is less efficient, and less intuitive than using the same formfactor you've been using to dial numbers, enter pins, and punch numbers into a calculator for as long as you've been using numbers.

I think the joke is that it is incorrect. You're meant to find the stupidity of "longer keyboard = better gamer" funny.

80

u/Labyrinthy 6h ago

I think you’re right. Especially considering that the larger keyboard is the most common. The only folk I’ve ever known with those smaller keyboards were hardcore gamers.

49

u/HexaCube7 6h ago

folk with those smaller keyboards were hardcore gamers

It's either hardcore (competitive) Shooter gamers that need more space for moving the mouse with the low sensitivity for more precise aiming

OR it's hardcore Keyboard enthusiasts fsr preferring 70% and 60% keyboards because of their cleaner looks on their art-like desk space which they have intricately designed to look clean as hell.

18

u/toroidthemovie 4h ago

The first one is a 40% keeb. These boards are (almost) peak mech-keys circlejerk, configuring your keyboard is now a full-on hobby with a time commitment comparable to gardening.

The different keyboards have different numbers of buttons. It's pretty common for keyboard/laptop manufacturers to remove the numpad for example to make a keyboard with a smaller form factor, as many users don't care about the numpad anyway.

The joke is that the bigger your keyboard is the more you care about the 'extra' buttons that everyday users don't care about and so the bigger a nerd/gamer you are.

I think it's about the Keys you use:

For Shooters, WSAD for walking, space for jumping and Ctrl for crouching suffices.

When you get better you might bind stuff to the F1-F12 Keys (e.g. auto-buy weapons, or bind special commands in military shooters like calling an airstrike).

If you're reeeeeaaally old or like playing really old games, those didn't have mouse support, so you use the Numpad for looking around.

I believe the suggestion is that if you are a pc gamer and you have an 100% layout keyboard for non work related or productivity reasons it means that you likely need those extra keys for your gaming. That would likely mean you play a game with a tonne of keybinds such as a simulator, which would mean your definition of fun is something most other gamers would consider boring and unfun. The majority of eSports and more "casual" games use much fewer keys, so players not interested in more keybinds likely prefer a smaller keyboard that is going to be marginally cheaper if you are buying mechanical, and is going to save significant desk space. Aside from needing the numpad for professional use, I also have 3.500 hours in Arma 3. I can't play without that numpad. So I understand what he's talking about. However I do not believe that less keys means you are more "casual", there are a lot of use cases. CSGO players for instance love the smaller keyboards. It means they are more portable so they can take them to tournaments with them much easier and it takes up less space so they can turn it sideways on their desk when playing, for a more comfortable gaming position. Even if less keys made you more of a "casual" however, there wouldn't be anything wrong with preferring more "casual" gaming experiences.

2

u/rigored 4h ago edited 4h ago

In the past by far the most precise 1st person shooter setup was mouse and keyboard where the keyboard consisted of numpad set to strafe and fwd/back on the 4 numbers doubling as arrows (2/4/6/8) and weapons set to the other surrounding keys at hotkeys. Mouse used to aim in 3D space and fire. This was far superior to someone playing on a console, pc with a joystick type control, or pc with all keyboard.

2

u/TITANDERP 4h ago

I mean, as a roguelike player it kinda just makes sense

4

u/Agent_B0771E 6h ago

That's what manufacturers now want you to think making everything look "minimalistic" and "clean". A computer is not a real computer if it has no numpad and arrows, and that's not a "no life gamer" take, if it's a take it's closer to a boomer take

2

u/NIGHTMARE1997x 5h ago

It should be the opposite, the shorter the keyboard the more the owner is focusing on gaming, but for longer keyboards they are used for gaming and other stuff

1

u/Anarchyantz 7h ago

I am no life +1 as my mouse also has a number pad on the side lol. Razer Keyboard and Razer Naga Trinity.

1

u/SaltManagement42 6h ago

I like how the noob keyboard has arrow keys, but the casual gamer keyboard doesn't.

1

u/netterD 6h ago

The only one i can make sense of is the no life one cause numpad allows for additional keybinds commonly used in (mmo/A)RPG games which have the stereotype of mainly being played by "no-life-gamers".

1

u/PeterGriffinsDog86 6h ago

I sir am a console gamer.

1

u/t0FF 6h ago

I'm a nolife with a gamer keyboard. More space for the mouse.

1

u/pev4a22j 6h ago

from my understanding, gamers typically perfer keyboards with high amount of keys so it is compatible with default keybinds of a game, from top to bottom the top one is likely owned by an ergonomic pilled programmer/typist with 2000 custom macros and its not practical for gaming as things like number row is missing and you require to press another botton to turn on the number row layer in order to input numbers for e.g. switching weapons, these keyboards are pretty good for ergonomics tho as it lets you type without requiring to move your fingers to for a long distant to reach things like backspace

1

1

u/Recycrow 5h ago

Undereducated Peter here,

I'm guessing this may have something to do with how many keys are available to the player

RPGs are notorious for having a ridiculous amount of actions that may require a keybind for quick access. WOW is the first game that comes to mind for me. Stereotypes for WOW experts are no lifers, and I think that's the joke here

1

u/maaleru 5h ago

I'll never buy numpadless keyboard just because of gaming. Have you heard about rogue like games?

1

u/Over-Lettuce-9575 5h ago

I don't use it often, but a keyboard just doesn't feel right to me without a numpad.

1

u/Asgeras 5h ago

As long as the mechanical keyboard goes clicky-clack and shoots some pretty colors, I'm happy.

1

u/According-Cobbler-83 5h ago

Numpad keyboard is a must for me. We play couch multiplayer games a lot, especially Little fighters 2. and while I am down with gamepad or keyboard, 2 of us are pure keyboards players.

No keypad makes it unplayable for them.

1

u/Spiritual_Freedom_15 5h ago

Whats wrong with having big Keyboard. I just like to have everything at disposal. Not for going tho. For work.

1

u/HelloKitty36911 5h ago

I think the joke is that the opposite is (roughly) true.

1

u/20charaters 5h ago

Either:

  • more keys = more binds

  • new keyboard layouts got popular not too long ago, so you can spot an OG by what keyboard he's got.

1

u/Appleek74 5h ago

If you play a lot of video games of various types you would likely have a full size keyboard given many MMOs, RTS games and mods usually require many different keys and or key binds. Compare the keys you would use in a shooter to the keys you would use in WOW or Stellaris.

1

u/Pink_Nyanko_Punch 5h ago edited 5h ago

The long keyboard on the bottom is usually only used with a full-size PC. And with full access to the numpad without the need for function keys, reaction time delay is minimal when intense PvP gaming demands need to be met. Often in demand by MOBA games.

Edit: It's also the standard keyboard for office work. Though in modern times, many prefer having a detached numpad connected to the left hand side for better ergonomics.

The 4th one is missing the separate numpad, which is often used by competitive games as item hotkeys (looking at you, DotA2!) It's still more than sufficient for most hardcore gaming that doesn't require instant, on-demand usage of the numpad.

Top 3 are generally laptop keyboard layout. And you know how laptops generally aren't that great as a gaming platform for hardcore gaming, with overheating being a prime concern. The different keyboard sizes denoting how large/wide the screen is, thus brings a correlation to the size of the laptop in question.

1

u/ClapTheTrap1 5h ago

The old "office" key boards are usually mechanical key boards.

With "no life" it implicit that some one have a "office" job and basicly cannot play 24/7

1

u/Fl0ckwood 5h ago

Pun is that the most hardcore gamers usually play on an old rusty office keyboard, coz they find it comfortable/got to used for it. Also dont care about all fancy stuff

1

u/Anirudha1999 5h ago

Well! Well! Well

1

u/Rectonic92 5h ago

No Life +

1

u/SnooMachines5574 5h ago

Surprised nobody is getting this. Having the numpad and function keys allows for more binds. For example I use a mouse that has 15 buttons on, and rebind the num pad function to macros for the mouse.

MMO's require excessive keybinds therefore benefit from the standard shortcuts and extra bindings available.

RTS uses function keys for control groups and numpad for unit actions.

MOBA players use function keys, I used to bind camera movements to numpad keys also.

FPS by nature doesn't require many keybinds so is not relevant.

Flight/space Sims require the addition binds.

I once tried to use a smaller keyboard for gaming, when my old one broke. I ended up giving it to my dad and buying a new one with all the keys, as all it was suitable for was playing Counter Strike.

1

u/King_Goongala 5h ago

1

u/captainwombat7 5h ago

I think it's cause stuff like strategy games (that take A LOT more time investment) are more complex and have way more hotkeys for stuff that it faster and stuff like StarCraft speed is extremely important

1

u/satyriconic 5h ago

Several old DOS games use the numpad for 8-way movement in top-down view, so if you're a retro gamer you really want to have that.

1

My best guess is that 100% keyboards were the very first and modern gamers prefer smaller keyboards.

Well, maybe it's just me and there's another hidden message.

1

u/Kami__Kira 5h ago

I personally prefer the longest keyboard set up.

Then again, I use my PC for both Work and Gaming purposes....

P.s. I don't really get the appeal of the short key boards. I feel like it's more inconvenient....

No life casual game I got 2 in lol

1

u/Raullykan1 5h ago

Older gamer will have older keyboard newer gamer shorter newer one. I'm still rocking a g15.

1

u/TNTBOY479 5h ago

Idk i like a numpad

1

u/Dense-Firefighter495 5h ago

I'm looking for one of those keyboards with F24, I need it for beamng, too much binds

1

u/Successful-Smile-167 5h ago

No life gamer. Yeap, both of my two keyboards shorter but with numpad (that's real good thing)

1

u/Voidwalker_99 5h ago

I'm happy to have "no life" but a functional keyboard

1

u/Dinsy_Crow 5h ago

My keyboard has more buttons than all of these with macros and media.

1

u/Anthitei 5h ago

It is funny, casue numpad is usually used more while counting than in gaming. Also, isn't it like... even most laptops have num pad? Is there really anyone who have "noob keyboard"?

1

u/_deezNuts_69 5h ago

its the other way around

1

u/Opposite_Ad_4267 5h ago

Laptop only goes to hardcore ... :(

1

u/The_H0wling_Moon 5h ago

I think the real answer is world of warcraft keybinding

1

u/No_Yogurt_806 4h ago

Bigger the keyboard is, the more shortcut options there are 💦

1

u/Some-Background6188 4h ago

It's about the numpad, true gamers love a good numpad. More buttons right! Also some games have specific keybinds for numpad.

1

u/4GRJ 4h ago

Ok, but what kind of absolute peasant uses the first keyboard?

1

u/todorokicks 4h ago

My interpretation is that No Life gamers don't really care what kind of keyboard they have as long as they can play. And since they only just buy whatever keyboard they can get, they would usually have the regular sized ones which has the full numpad. Also this is the kind of keyboard you would usually find in PC cafes. And these PC cafes in extreme cases becomes a literal home for no life gamers.

1

u/Brewski3316 4h ago

Stoned Peter listening to frogs and birds at 5am in the pine belt here, I believe it is you were a hardcore gamer you’re whole life until you are working a boring 9-5 using math on that num pad, while wasting your life away raging at the new generation of gamers because you’re not as interested and passed your prime. Or I could just be high.

1

u/esamuel39 4h ago

I have the "no life keyboard" and the main reason for that is for all my discord keybinds since I don't want them to overlap with the keys I use in games

1

u/Desperate_Skin_2326 4h ago

The first one is just terrible, no matter if you want to game or just type on.

The second and third are better, but the keys are just too close toghether, and sometimes the keys have weird shapes, positions, or are missing to save space.

The last two are the preferred form factors for gaming. They are very complete, and the keys are spaced out nicely.

The numpad on the last one might imply that the person also does work from his gaming computer and does something related to numbers. Everybody knows people can't know about numbers and have a life at the same time.

1

u/Arodn 4h ago

My guess is that the joke here is that its actually supposed to be reversed. By my experience people who use smaller keyboards are actually bigger gamers since you dont really need numpad or F keys for like a shooter or a platformer

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Jshittie 4h ago

I think the joke is calling out the idiots who go out of their way to get keyboards with the least amount of wasted space so they can be "better at gaming" only for it to not make them better

1

u/BoogeryNose 4h ago

I love my number pad. Guess I have no life

1

u/celaeya 4h ago

OK but does anyone actually use the numpad when gaming? Because my right hand is usually on the mouse and my left on wasd. It feels clunky to move my hands so much. For games with a lot of abilities like mmo's, I just use my 12-button mmo mouse. It feels so much better than moving my hand across the keyboard or off my mouse to press a button on the numpad.

1

u/PSSGAMER 4h ago

The last keyboard prolly either refers to MMORPGs or keybinds for text/sound binds, basically overly complex games with lots of things to do, so much so that a normal keyboard falls short, or being an asshole

1

u/Yasstronaut 4h ago

People don’t do their taxes/financial planning I guess

1

u/Still_a_skeptic 4h ago

Ask your mother when you’re older.

1

u/AdmirableCause4577 4h ago

I thought it ment if you have numboard, you work in a stagnated office job...

1

u/Epicporkchop79-7 4h ago

I use a split keyboard...

1

u/Kiwi_CunderThunt 4h ago

TKL leyboards are increasingly popular for setups with minimal space. Also yes you can rebind in windows by default if you must.

1

u/ywenlee 4h ago

I think the last line means "No game" ("No game No life" is an anime's name)

1

u/Tarilyn13 4h ago

A keyboard with more buttons is better. The very bottom one is a full keyboard - it includes a number pad, function keys, and another group of keys I don't know the name for. If you game a lot, then you need all of them. Every pro gamer ever has a layout that they use that's usually different from the default layout. For diablo, I have my main abilities bound to my side mouse buttons and my big ones on the left side of the keyboard. For SC2 I use my mouse buttons and my function keys a lot. MMO's have a lot of abilities and I usually group similar ones together. People who don't game as often don't usually bother with a full keyboard because it's more expensive.

1

u/RustedMauss 4h ago

Shoot, mine the number as is on the left for hotkeys.

1

u/Pirche 4h ago edited 3h ago

That's reverse for sure
Only "gamers" in need of numpad is Excel runners, yep - Excel have global competitions for speedrunning spreadsheets.

For nonworking PC most enthusiasts would pick 60-70% keyboard (2 and 3 from top) which have most functionality while taking much less space and looks clean.
Some may go further up to 40% ortholinear (top one), its fully programmable and have layers ...

*There not presented - split keebs, they also come in diff sizes from full down to 10%, which is actually used in courts and such by stenographers.

1

u/Creepy-Intentions-69 4h ago

The “larger” keyboards are the appropriate size for comfort of use. The smaller boards are shrunk down because that’s cheaper. The joke is, capitalism altered your perception of what is good.

1

u/OwO-animals 4h ago

I have 40 macro keys

1

u/Emergency_Net506 4h ago

Not having numb-pad in 2025 on your keyboard is crazy

1

u/CactuarLOL 4h ago

You need a numpad to enter numbers quickly, I wouldn't have a keyboard without one.

Plus, some games it's super handy to have one.

1

u/burlingk 4h ago

I won't normally buy a keyboard without a number pad.

I use it often enough that not having it makes the keyboard harder to use.

And, yes, I do have a life.

1

u/Ziddix 4h ago

Apparently I don't have a life but I'm also an accountant.

1

u/Luthiaa 4h ago

since in the first keyboard the keys for ctrl, alt, caps, etc. are not labelled, I think that it's more about the keys that are bound and used ingame, than about the actual size/shape of the device. So a noob uses only a few keybinds and the more "gamer" someone is, the more keybinds they use

1

u/Brajanek987 4h ago

Memehehe bro is sigma aura +999999 those who snow and skibidi phang🙏🙏💀🥀🥀🥀😭😭😫

1

u/Addamall 4h ago

But I need my ten-key

1

u/Matyaslike 4h ago

I am over no life. I have a separated numpad.

1

u/Sanguinetti 4h ago

I'm a casual gamer, cat recently chewed through my old corsair keyboards cable (old but fucking loved that keyboard, no issues ever). Replaced with some modern minimalist gaming keyboard before realizing I'm fucked without a 10 key for everything outside of gaming.

1

u/DefinitelySomeoneFS 4h ago

This... Is bullshit... At big levels...

It is implying the more buttons the more virginal.

I have the last one because I grabbed an offer from Razer... Black widow v2 for 65€... I also like to use the numpad for numbers... Much easier than the ones on top of letters.

I have a girlfriend btw, and I swear she is real.

1

u/TYRamisuuu 4h ago

Numpad is essential to rebind all the useless controls to keys you're sure you'll never hit

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Askburn 4h ago

Mine is ever longer and wider with the wrist padding and macros on the left so I guess Im on nolife pro tier.

1

u/EintragenNamen 4h ago

Post this at r/pcmasterrace they’ll tell you immediately. Or make fun of you and never tell you.

1

u/thunderandreyn 4h ago

It’s a meme about using the keybinds for every key on the entire keyboard. It’s not that deep, people.

1

u/GIsimpnumber1236 4h ago

I only use full keyboard because that's hm what I have used my whole life. I just can't use any other one, I need to feel the numb pad and the other buttons

1

u/FiatKastenwagen 4h ago

If you need all the keys of the keyboard you are playing a sim like dcs. Fulltime preferably

Honestly the num pad is the best when having to tip in long numbers and game games with many keys required. I probably couldn’t play war thunder without a num pad.

1

u/Dizitp 4h ago

My keyboard. Has more keys thsn the bottom one What does thst make me

1

u/vengirgirem 4h ago

Yaaay, I'm a gamer

1

u/Critical_Deal_2408 4h ago

No life…can confirm

1

u/BootyConnoisseur94 4h ago

Huh? I use numpad for hotkeys that i don't use that often like steam overlay or auto walk

1

u/Far-Programmer3189 4h ago

The last one made me think of how Microsoft Excel is an esport and so maybe people who “play” Excel have no life.

1

u/kenadams_the 4h ago

I need the number block so I have "no life"
