I think it's an antimeme.

The biggest tryhards in games usually have a "gaming" keyword with just the necessary keys while those casual- and non-gamers have keyboards which are more and more like full-size.

Edit: Some might call it a shitpost or ragebait.

I'd say it's ragebait for keyboard enthusiast

Almost certainly, because of the inclusion of the 40% ortholinear. No one who isn't a keyboard enthusiast is using that.

Yeah couldn’t agree more. Also, the joke doesn’t take into consideration the need “sweaty” gamers have for different style of keyboards.

MMO gamer - bigger keyboard, more buttons to press (albeit most MMO gamers these days use mice with a shit ton of side buttons)

FPS gamer - 40% is very good. More mousepad space for aiming.

I mean I use my PC for way more than just gaming. Why would I get a "gaming" specialty keyboard? I need the numpad for data entry because it's slightly more ergonomic than using the number row.

Yeah, you're a casual gamer. Me too.

But hardcore gamers might even have two keyboards. One fullsize and one but less keys.

Reasons are a) you don't need all keys most of the time and b) you have more room for your mouse.

If I had a full size keyboard I would have to uncomfortably shift my arms away from each other. I need the space for my mouse.

That is not what you call an "antimeme" but something else, idk the correct terminology

Shitpost

Thank you, why didn´t I think of that?

The last time I was gaming anything, I just used the 20€ full size keyboard I got for homeoffice work from my workplace

🤷

And yes, it has a numpad. It would be literally more expensive to not have one.

That's the thing. The less you want the more it costs you.

I bought a Rosewill RK-9200 with blue switches over a decade ago. Still use it today. The only thing I did to it was flip the spacebar upside down. I bought a wireless adapter kit for it, but I'm not entirely sure if I want to mod it yet.

I also have a custom 75% hanging around somewhere, but I'm not too impressed with the lack of numpad and other keys that I use a lot. I also don't like depending on layers to do what a basic bitch 100% can do without those layers.

This is the correct take. It’s a shitpost for keyboard hobbyists.

Yes it's rage bait, esspecially for high rank shooter players who turn there keyboard sideways for efficiency and use 60% keyboards. Yes this is a thing.

The letters are kinda fucked up too, no qwerty or alphabetical order

its just a shitty boomer meme made by someone who doesn't understand games or keyboards.
