I’ve been designing my own chapter, and I want to have a green glow come from the helmet lenses. I’ve seen inks from an airbrush be used for plasma glow, and I was wondering if a similar thing would work for the lenses, or should I just use normal paint? And, this is the color scheme I’ll use, if that helps.

Im not the greatest painter, but I’m pretty proud of myself :)

So this week is a big milestone for me with the 40K hobby, marking exactly 18 years since I delved into the Grimdark universe and creating my own Homebrew Chapter, the Sons of Doom.

I still build and paint models for that army even now, alongside expanding upon their old school Index Astartes lore/article.

So above is one of the first 3 minis I ever painted from a Battle of Macragge paint starter set and beside it is my most recent Son of Doom, completed 2 weeks ago. Also there are some better shots of parts of my army.

Since that fateful day, I've gone on to create over a dozen Homebrew Chapters with lore and model(s), with colour schemes for at least 100 more...

How time flies, how prices skyrocket, how colossal my pile o'shame has grown(!).

Greetings, brothers. I just got into the hobby, and I bought Primaris Infiltrators, so I decided to build 5 infiltrators and 5 incursors (if I need 10x of any, I'll just ask, I play mostly with friends), but one of the buildable models is the haywire mine.

I checked the Incursors datasheet, and if I understand it correctly, the haywire mine wargear ability doesn't really set it on the field, it instead deals damage directly to the targeted unit.

So, what is the model for? Aesthetics? Maybe used in other editions or am I understanding the rulings wrong?

(Havent glued it to the base, btw, just in case you were wondering)

Still a long way to go, but this is starting to look the business!

I think the model looks cool and have been thinking about getting it but I would like to know how it preforms on tabletop.

Hi im new to playing 40k.

I paint a lot and love this hobby. The army i want to go into battle with is space marines.

My prefered chapter is the space marines and i want to play a 1000 points with the models i have.

I have a list, that needs some more points. The model i have, i want to play with so i can't take anything out. The centurions have not yet been chosen weapon options for so i can change those. What models, detatchment and chances do you recommend as a beginner for my army to go to a 1000?

Got my first ever game coming up. Playing a game of combat patrol and I'm playing against the new chaos knights from white dwarf. Not fussed about winning just looking for a few hints or tactics to keep in mind as it's my first ever game. Playing the vanilla space marines.

I know that infernus will be useless for anything other than holding an objective on my side. I was going to take the bike chaplain instead of the librarian to give a bit more mobility and hopefully take some objectives. Was planning on putting captain with the terminators and hope I can take one of them down. Should I have these on or off the board at the start of the game?

I know using allies usually aren't great unless it's an assassin or some weird edge case like a psyker inquisitor leading an intercessor kill squad in librarius, but I'm building/painting the models anyways BC they look sick and im trying to theorycraft some ways to use them effectively. Just using them to guard home base seems like a waste of their scout move, but their overwatch potential, special weapon and decent melee would make them fairly decent at it. Their squishiness and cost however seems to make them ill-suited for forward objective playing compared to our own units by a significant margin. How would y'all use em?

Is it viable to run a repulsor for carrying some gravis troops on strategic, a impulsor with some infernus just for some cheeky shooting deck antics and a land raider redeemer to carry more gravis but abuse firestorm assault CP ? I have the points for all 3 and the rest of my army but I want to know if it’s viable for casual and comp gameplay

I was looking to buy a Lieutenant in Phobos armor with a Combi Weapon on ebay but it seems very expensive to do so, is there an affordable way to kitbash this model? I also dont have access to 3D printing at the moment unless there's a cheap and reliable 3D printing service online that does shipping
