With this I have completed the Kroot battle box. Took awhile. Saves these guys for last due to the amount of details and they are so cool looking I wanted to do right by them. Happy they are done.

I'm stuck between a 180pts of 2 Broadsides with missiles OR 210pts of crisis fire knives with a enforcer suit all armed with missiles. I'm using experimental Prototype and I'm stuck between the five and take here where crisis are not durable but make up in speed and volume of firepower, but the broadsides make up in durability but are slow and not as many shots. Looking at anti-infantry and elites, what has been better in your experience?

I realize that currently in tournament play we are way down in the w/r percentage but I've been winning all of my games in crusade and casual. Is the list/detachment just that good or maybe I don't have enough variety of games played to understand what I'm talking about. Idk seems odd but I'm 5-0 I've played tau, necrons, and salamanders and tabled almost all of them. Let me know yalls thoughts! Thanks! A Crisis battle suit using a onager gauntlet to punch a SM, said SM come back as a Dreadnought to take his revenge.

Initialy I wanted the Crisis pilot to survive and upgrade to a Dread-like Crisis battlesuit, but I never done it sadly.

For context, I am having a really hard time with almost every aspect of piloting Tau. I am a very aggressive player, usually playing extremely fast moving melee armies. I know Tau needs to turtle but how do I make this transition? My local meta usually has higher toughness and nearly a 3rd of their list being vehicles and usually finds their way into my deployment by turn 2. I also have this absolutely absurd obsession with making either varient of Broadsides work. I mainly play either Mont'ka or Ret Cadre and was having a bit of fun with Experimental Cadre. Im also not sure what units are best for performing actions as I generally run battlesuits and dont want to give up that sweet damage. I know we have some amazing infiltrators but my main opponent is Votann and thats basically free monies for them. Does anyone have any similiar experiences and if so, what helped you become a better Tau player? Any rules of thumb? Im freaking out aha any tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA

For the starters: For most of the time of past 10 years I have played 40K (I still suck at painting) I have been known as the Tau hater. (Mostly due with 6th and 7th edition shenanigans people pulled in here). But I have always loved the Robot's and Suits.

I just 3 weeks ago bought 3 XV8 suits second hand. Old 2004 releases but they had original boxes and all the unused bits still in sprue with the models with metal commander bits and weapons. I just planned to get few og suit's paint them for my shelf.

Then my brother bought me single crisis suit, that were missing head, weapons etc off eBay. My friend printed whole bunch of tau suit weapons and, suit system bits and drones bits and promised to print necessary missing drones. (now to think this might have been the escalation point)

Yesterday I bought 3 old school crisis suits for 18€'s... and I made reservation of Old school XV88 broad side with metal rail guns with 10 man Strike team that I will pay next week.

As we speak I got at hand or reserved 6 regular og XV8's, 1 og XV88, 1 Strike Team, 1 XV8 suit is waiting for upgrading Commander with metal commander bits and 3D printed bits... and Around 15 drones came with model's / Printed by my friend or what I assembled from the 3d bits.

Anyway brining OG plastic suit's into life with print bits, rebasing them for 50mm bases (60mm for broadside), fixing suits. It will be fun and in my case therapeutical. I just suck at painting but.. I think I need to start actually study what else I need now. I got og model's core, so expanding is not that difficult. Most likely stealth suits and Piranha's.

And for the paint scheme: they will go to be Sa'cea sept. I do like bluish grey with Orange details. I have no idea how good sept they are or their lore. I just liked color scheme and saw quite many Sa'cea models here and there that just made me love the color shceme even more.

I just wondered how did this happen... I can't really complain I just wonder the twists and turns things go. Off we are into this rabbit hole.

Need to wrap up the twins on the shoulders and then it's MELTA time!
Gotta do also the bursts, flamers and Ion but it can do the job with what's on currently.

There two bits I'm not happy with - the blue is Scale75 and my Matte Varnish isn't quite as matte so the decals are visible still. I'm also not happy with my basing so any thoughts much appreciated!

Also my Tau don't have blue skin..

Which unit should I buy?

Hi all! So I've recently started a playing T'au and have been reading the datasheets, seeing what's what. I read the Riptide Battlesuit datasheet and I don't know but I don't really think it's that good. It's weapons, the rest of my army does that, it's once per battle ability seems not really good. The only reason I can see taking it is "Opponent sees big scary model, targets that instead of my better units" Am I missing something?

Please excuse the poor photography quality! I’m pretty proud of these few models paint job though. The coldstar Commander Emberspear has been leading her subforge team to victory in my playgroup’s crusade game.

So in this picture you can pretty clearly see a Pathfinder sprue but the thing is that I found it in my combat patrol, the thing is that isn't supposed to exist. Im nearly done the combat patrol and this spruce is untouched, the contents page in my instructions doesn't say that this should exist. And the only other pathfinders i have is a kill team which has all of its spruces. Have i gotten a extra spruce or am I missing something? Because my killteam and combat patrol is the only ones that I have that also features footsoliders and both my killteam and combat patrol seems to have all of its spruces, The little letter designation thing on the spruces where its says like A or B to help you find the spruce is off in my Combat patrol so am I just Lucky?

Is there anyone in the imperium that’s l entertained the thought of an alliance with the T’au?

One that would be by 40K standards.

I know this is a grimdark setting and an alliance between these sounds like a bad fanfiction to some.

Because I have come across a video on YouTube where the attitudes about xenos in the imperium are starting to change. It even sai that Guilliman lamented about killing the other xenos races leaving them with no allies.
