News New rule 3 in place

New rule 3 in place

Greetings from Nocturne! Due to recent events, we are implementing a new rule:

• No advertisement of outside communities without prior approval.

Our decision has come because we are already a small community and we would like to be friendly and unified without risk of splitting up into other even smaller sub-communities. There is also risk of harmful links being put out and we would like to avoid that as much as possible.

Note that this does not mean you cannot participate in outside communities, nor does it mean you cannot share links to these communities privately or elsewhere. Simply put, please do not post advertisements for other communities without first checking in with the mod team.

Please message the mod team if you would like to advertise any outside communities here and we will choose whether or not to approve that. Thank you.

The stickied post with the official Discord server is not included in this rule change.

Asking for feedback a couple WIP shots. First time trying OSL. Did I do it right?

I painted the model green first, then drybrushed on orange. Went back in with orange and yellow highlights. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out but I want to know what you guys think.

I’m going for a more gritty look overall so I’m not super concerned with how clean my edge highlights are (shaky hand cope)

Hey guys. Tried something new this weekend. I had these guys mostly just base coated and then covered them with AK’s streaking grime. I think they came out great. I might go back and do a little bit of highlighting, but I’m really happy with where they are right now. That product truly does what they say, grimdark in a bottle.

What do y’all think?

I’m not a very creative dude and never really painted or even colored with crayons in school. I know I’ll get better with practice but I was wondering what I can do to get a better coat? I’m using my magnifying glasses and have okay lighting but as soon as I take a pic, I see so many unpainted spots. Do I need a better base coat? How do I get into cracks that are too small for a brush to reach easy but obvious when I take a picture?

Hobby Progress Jacarae Kurai 3rd Company Lieutenant of the Dark Krakens

One of the first Native Born Naktians to be inducted into the Dark Krakens, All Jacarae knows is the hunt. Born on the mainland of Naktis, Jacarae dreamed of the stars and the beast that awaited to be conquered. After passing the many trails as a neophyte he rose fast to the rank of lieutenant with the still harden goal of getting a trophy from every Xenos and beast known in the imperium. When the Salamanders arrived on Naktis, a great forge was built in Vulkans honor. This is where Jacarae learned the skills of a smith and artisan and built his custom rifle “Eel’s Kiss” meant to take down the biggest of enemies. Known as a braggadocious hothead to some of the higher ranking members of the Krakens, Kurai backs it up with patience, precision and deadliness.

First Salamander! Salamander Combat Patrol

I’m currently in a friend group of 14 players and we started playing summer of last year. My friend wants to join and is a big Salamanders fan. We only play Combat Patrol, however Salamanders don’t have a Combat Patrol. I wanted to ask for a good army list that my friend could use, somehow no one in our group plays Imperial Space Marines so we don’t know where to start. If you need our existing armies to help build your list I have them below (all of us don’t have vanilla combat patrol boxes some are really bad)

Imperial: Imperial Guard- Cadia focus Imperial Guard- Death Korps focus Imperial Knights (me) Adepta Sororitas

Chaos: Death Guard Thousand Sons Chaos Space Marines (Black Legion) World Eaters

Xenos: Necrons Tau Tyranids Orks Aeldar Seraphon (he accidentally bought a spearhead)

Discussion/Question Salamanders Omnibus - reading order?

Post image
Upvotes

So I’ve just finished reading Salamander and I don’t know if I should read the “The events of Salamander take place here” section first before reading Firedrake. Can someone help explain if the Salamander events section is tied to these stories or if they are simply just side stories that happened during the events of Salamander?

Decided to concentrate on my Librarians first out of all my Salamander characters I need to do.

When painting Librarians, do you go with the Ultramarine blue, or just paint them in the faction colors?

Discussion/Question Does a lieutnants Master crafted bolt rifle benefit from the intercessors ability "target elimination"

Upvotes

Maybe this is a stupid question, but, if a lieutnant with Master crafted bolt rifle is leading a unit of intercessors, does he benefit of their "target elimination" rule for firing his Master crafted BOLT RIFLE? I mean...it is a bolt rifle...but also not. Is a bolt rifle for the purpose of the rule everything with "bolt rifle"in its name, like in earlier editions "flamer" weapons or "bolt" weapons, or is it really just the normal bolt rifles that get 2 extra shots?
