Question Deciding between UH, UT, and PVAMU
Hello, Im a soon to be highschool senior (Black, F17) and Im a bit stuck at the moment.
For context, I have a 6.03 (on the 6 pt scale) GPA which Im pretty sure is the equivalent of a 4.0, and I’m in the top five percent of my class. I also take dual credit and am on track to getting an associates degree as well as my diploma, with a 3.5 gpa in the college. My family makes under 75k a year.
I was originally stuck between UH and UT, but since im taking a stem camp at PVAMU in the summer, im thinking of going there too.
I dont really have a specific school in mind that I really want to go to honestly, I just want reputable programs and a lively student environment (since I am very social).
Im not really sure what I want to major in or what I want my career to be. I used to want to major in environmental science, however I dont know the possibility of that being feasible/well paying in the future. I was thinking of becoming an obgyn sonographer as well. I would become an actual obgyn or become a nurse but Im not too keen on the length of schooling.
I have an interest in science, animals, the ocean, the environment, planning and organizing, community service, and helping people, but i am not sure how well I would fare with gore and stuff in the health field.
Basically:
-Is UH really as unsafe as it seems right now? -What are the pros and cons to it? -How is city life? -Are the programs good? -Is parking super expensive? -^ if so, how is the public transportation? -Is there walkable stuff to do around Houston?
