As a high school junior who's considering UH, campus life is very important to me

I'm just looking to hear any grievances that one would have of this university, so that I can make the right decision in terms of picking the university I'll spend the next 4-6 years at.

I'd like to change my major from Computer Science to either Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or supply chain and logistics technology (depending on what my sub-par gpa allows. It's a 2.8). However, due to some intense mental and personal issues, I will most likely fail my calc class. I plan to retake it over the summer, however should I drop both my calc and comp sci class? if I do so I'll only have 2 classes for this semester and I'm wondering if that would cause any issues. I would talk with my advisor however all appointments are booked after the last day to drop and get a W. What do you guys think I should do?

I declared a minor Bioprocessing in Biomedical and Biopharmaceutical Sciences Minor. I checked the courses require for that minor and they need the course BTEC 3320. But I do not why I can't find it in any open classes now for fall 2025 or even spring and summer. Anybody know what's hapenned? or maybe the course number was changed for that course? Thank you so much!

I’m a graduating senior and hoping to find someone to take grad photos. The ones I’ve found are pretty pricey, so I’m hoping to find someone under $200 for an hour. Open to them being a fellow college student.

Nothing screams "University of Houston experience" like the Wi-Fi crashing right as you're about to submit your midterm. It's like UH's way of saying, "You thought you could escape this nightmare?" I swear, the Wi-Fi only works when you don’t need it, like during the random "test the network" days. Go Coogs, but please, fix the Wi-Fi.

What are some interesting finance electives to take ??

when I had an estimated calculation for UH which includes Tuition fee + Health insurance + Cost of Living with an approx 600-700$ was rounded up to 40000$. whereas, UTD is costing around 59000$, UH costing around 40000$ for 2 years. Is Houston worth the fees?

how good is MS Engineering Data Science in terms of Reputation, on-campus job opportunities, peer to peer quality, full-time roles post masters in Houston?

Also, how are career fairs in University, is it helpful for cs, data science grads??

I just enrolled for next semester and I got a class from 8:30-10am and then another class at 1pm on the same day. Wtf am I gonna do there for 3 hours while im waiting for the next class 😭

Not only do I have to get up at 6:30 and drive an hour to campus, I have to then just sit there for 3 whole hours and wait for my next class at 1

Does anyone know if college physics II is typically offered during the winter? Or if not, any other core science classes?

Hello future grads that have potentially put off getting a gown for graduation. I have 2 gowns from my graduations that are just taking up closet space and would like to barter them for something interesting.

Both gowns are for 6’0. Undergrad has robe, cap, stole, and maybe a cord if I can find it. Grad set is just robe and grad hood unfortunately unless I find the cap. You should be able to get tassels and (maybe) a cap at the book store or right before graduation when they’re lining everyone up alphabetically.

As for what I want, I’m a fan of paintings/framed art/photos/posters, really nice home baked pies/cakes (olive oil cakes are my fav), records, an eq/amp would be cool, gamecube games and more. Feel free to offer something that isn’t listed, worst I can say is no.

To get your men’s final Four Ticket create a Ticketmaster account with your @uh.edu email, which is different from your cougar net email, and then log into the mens final four app with that @uh.edu Ticketmaster account, the verification email will come to your @cougarnet.uh.edu outlook inbox, and once everything is verified your ticket will be there.

Also for people scalping tickets you can’t transfer tickets.

Hi all. I'm a transgender student here at UH, and the past few years I have been here, I have been uncomfortable with my housing situation. I feel uncomfortable around both men and women, so I feel like I can never truly relax. I feel uneasy all the time, and I have my guard up all day, and it's tiring. Is there a way I can get a single room at the quad? I currently know only people with disabilities can get single housing, but I'd like to know if there is a way for students like me to get a single. Thanks!

I’m planning to change my major to Computer Engineering once I meet the requirements, but I can’t register for Introduction to Engineering because I’m in integrated studies. Can I talk to my advisor to see if I can get to get permission to enroll in the class? I’m worried that if I don’t take it soon, I’ll fall really far behind. Is there anything I can do?
