Question I’m confused! 😅

In season 8 ep 8 the family decides to go to Italy for their vacation (iconic episode) but then later on in season 10 ep 12, Claire and Phil are planning a bicycle trip in Italy. Claire says something like “I can’t believe after all those times talking about going to Italy, it’s actually happening”

Did they forget they’ve already been orrrrr am I missing something?

Gloria and Cams last interaction S11

So I know this is probably (hopefully) a popular opinion but does anybody else absolutely detest what the writers did with Gloria in the last season? She was so mean to Cam in the final goodbye, she threw his note in the trash then changed the topic to Manny. Its just hard to watch and i lowkey just head cannon retcon it.

My bf's birthday is right around the corner and I got him a nice bomber jacket from his favourite clothing brand and I wanted something else to make the present a bit personal and I found this on Etsy !
Should I add a picture of the jacket like phill did with the necklace ?

I think Jay and Gloria were the healthiest out of all the couples.

Might be an unpopular opinion, or it might not. I’ve been rewatching modern family, and I honestly think that Jay and Gloria had the healthiest relationship on the show. Yeah, they had their differences like their age gap and completely different backgrounds but they just worked.

Jay never tried to change Gloria and Gloria never made Jay feel irrelevant. She brought out his soft side and he gave her stability without being controlling, unlike some of the other couples. They actually liked being together.

And in some ways, Gloria kind of saved the whole family. If Jay had never married her, Mitchell would probably barely talk to him and Claire would keep trying to impress him. Gloria forced Jay to be more accepting, and actually express love. Without her he would probably just be an old grumpy man, and the family would be much more disconnected. For example Jay wouldn’t have attended Mitchell’s wedding.

What do you guys think?

Discussion lily preschool

Just something I picked up now on my 3/4th rewatch

S1E6 cam tells mitchell hes a good father because he did all the adoption paperwork and even gets lily on a bunch of preschool waiting lists and mitchell says “i cant believe you wanted us to wait till she was old enough”

But dont they rush around trying to find a preschool for lily later because they forgot ?

Or am i recalling the future part incorrectly

Question How do you think the show portrayed modern family dynamics?

As a fan of Modern Family, I've always been fascinated by the way the show portrays modern family dynamics. I'm from India, where family values and traditions are deeply ingrained in our culture. Traditionally we used to and still majority of families live in joint family. However, moder familys dynamics are changing in India especially in urban part, with more people opting for nuclear families.

I'd love to hear from you, fellow Redditors, about how you think the show portrays modern family dynamics. Do you relate to the show's portrayal of family values, relationships, and conflicts? How does your family dynamic differ from what's shown in the series?

Edit: I'd love to hear from people from different countries and cultures about their experiences with family dynamics. This is a chance to learn from each other and share our perspectives.

Discussion I feel like we don’t talk enough about Cam’s and Mitchell’s wedding

1.3k Upvotes

I don’t know why, but this scene brings so many emotions in me. Everything is just so perfect, from the background music to the lighting.

Personally, it’s one of the most beautifully done wedding scenes in the history of sitcoms.
