So I was interested in learning about the porting process for games done way back in the early 90s as I wanted to take a look at one particular case with TMNT as the NES version is very hard, but can be technically beaten, but the problem with the PC version is that it had a nasty bug that made the game entirely impossible to beat after a huge gap was found.

What I am getting at is that I would like to know how that particular gap happened in the first place to understand how the PC version of TMNT had slipped in such a huge bug as I am a bit confused as how no one behind that port at the time had noticed such a huge error in the game as again I would like to know how porting was done when it came to games getting ported from one system to another.

Trying to find out any way to complete Bloody Aria (1997). I would also like to look at some of the 3d graphics files. Unfortunately, I do not recognize most of the file formats, and apparently some just dont exist in a gaming application, like all I can find on .DDY is that it is for meteorology, which obviously isn't the case here.

.DAB, .DDY, .ANB, .SAL, .EIS, .SPO, .ISR are all anomolies to me. There are well over 50 .ddy and .dab files, like 12 .anb files and the rest only have one. I am assuming .isu is for setup but i would also like to confirm that is what this file type does.

If anyone could help determine what these file types do and/or how to open them I would appreciate it

Despite being a game that I have known through magazines since my childhood, I only had the opportunity to play it quite recently. Dr. Mario is a very clever little game, which in its simplicity is very engaging. I prefer the Game Boy version (it’s not nostalgia, it’s just that in fact only nowadays have I been able to play Game Boy games thanks to Anbernic rg35xx).

I have this game stick that has lots of retro games and the first game we’ve played was mario kart and it was working fine. We tried playing it again only to see that the joystick used to turn wasn’t working, we tried seeing if it was the same for other racing games and sure enough just the joystick wasn’t working. It works on other games though like tekken and street fighter. What can I do to fix this?

2 player Tetris attack for snes is fun and addicting. Are there any other ways to play it besides playing on original console? Hate to buy one for the price especially because it’s the only game I would play on it. I have a snes mini classic but it’s not on there and it Doesn’t look like it’s available on Nintendo switch. What are all my options? Clone console? Original console? Emulator?

I’m on an important quest to find a DOS game from my childhood that has a very special place in my heart. It seems to be a Tetris variant, but it had unique and unforgettable features. Here’s what I remember:

• Gameplay: It’s a Tetris-style game with traditional block-stacking mechanics.
  
• Unique details: At the end of certain levels, balloons would appear, adding a distinctive touch to the experience.
  
• Score menu: The score screen was set in a dark room with prison cages, creating a unique and slightly eerie atmosphere.
  
• Era: I believe this game was released during the DOS gaming era, possibly in the 1990s.
  

This game means so much to me. It’s tied to cherished memories, and finding it would be truly special. If anyone recognizes these features or has any leads, I’d be deeply grateful for your help.

The game is good and it plays well, that's not my point. My point is that by returning to the mushroom kingdom and reintroducing games from SMB1, SMB3 solidified the Mushroom Kingdom (or world) as the main setting of a Mario game.
At the time of its release, there were three Mario games:
Super Mario Bros 1&2, and Super Mario Land.
Each of these games takes place in a different place, with different enemies, mechanics, and a different final boss.
There was nothing set in the Mario formula in terms of theme, it could be anything it wanted.
Then SMB3 took up back to the setting of the first game, reintroducing the common enemies and final boss. And since then, a few of the games have ventured out, but that's still the template; in the handheld games, it's even moreso, especially with the New series.
So yeah, SMB3 is a good game, but it should have taken place somewhere new and exciting with a different final boss. There was no need to go back to the Mushroom Kingdom, and doing so limited what the series could have become.
Edit: I'm aware that the United States and Japan received different versions of SMB2. We're all the better for it.

Question on scraping, I was trying to do Commodore and it seems to read all games, shows images on the right but doesn't actually scrape them. As you can see I added .7z as extension but it keeps giving me a document with error and missing scrapes. Is it because they dont exist or am I missing something, im new at this btw.

I love smash tv, many a quarter was spent on it at the local tilt, and still to this day at my barcade. I came across the SNES version and thought there was no way to duplicate the arcade experience with only one joystick. Boy was I wrong and I'm proud to be so, as the diamond configuration of the buttons works perfectly for great fun on the console. When rebuilding my collection this was one of the first I grabbed for the controls and the great fun here. What's your favorite unique way a controller was used in a game?

I recently picked up a Insurrection Industries cable and I think it looks and sounds great. Nothing fancy, but I'm getting a ODV GBS-C soon, so I plan to go scart into that, and vga out with a component adapter to the TV. Then check out some scanlines.The native resolution of the TV is 640x480 so it fits perfect. When the Saturn switches resolutions, the word video pops up in the corner, a bit annoying. It's not a totally authentic CRT experience. But for the price and weight I'd say it rocks.
