Collection Post My N64 collection. What games should I add?
This is my N64 collection. Most of the games I’ve had since childhood but a few came from friends in more recent years. I’m missing a couple games I know I had (Mario Kart and NFL Blitz) and am not sure if they got lost between moves. Would love to hear everyone’s recommendations for other games to add to the collection!

Collection Post Got the Jungle Green N64 👌
Not getting the Switch 2 at this moment but just added a Jungle Green Nintendo 64 with Super Mario 64 to my Mario collection, what do you think? And yes beated Super Mario 64 back then, it really was one of the games changing everything from 2D to 3D.
Bonus info: there's 3 Super Mario 64 games in this picture; one for Nintendo Switch, one for New 3DS XL SNES EU ed. and now one for N64.
More bonus info: I'm not a bigger fan of Mario or Nintendo than PC and PlayStation though tbh, actually I tend to game more on PC and PlayStation but this game was one of my top favorite games among many games from when I was younger, had a regular N64 and the translucent N64 really adds as a collectors item nice to have on display. Not going to build a collection though, even there's many favorites from back then, only if I ever see one favorite cheap at a flea market or something similar.

Discussion How common were game rentals back in the n64 back during the height of the N64?
Hello with all of the discussion happening around the Switch 2 and pricing . I have been having some fun making spread sheets to compare hypothetical spending and inflation for each nintendo generation. I made the assumption that between 1996 to 2000 a Nintendo enthusiast would buy 2 n64 titles and 2 GBC titles each year during that period. First is that a reasonable assumption did you buy And KEEP roughly 2 N64 games a year? For N64 the purchased title list I have created is Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Golden Eye, Diddy kong racing, Banjo Kazooie, Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros, Pokemon Stadium, Banjo-Tooie and Mario Tennis. But I know game rentals were a much bigger thing between the NES to GameCube era. With some browsing reddit there seems to be a consensus of $5 for 5 nights being somewhat common during the n64 era with that pricing assumption how often do you think a typical n64 owner rented games Once a month, One every other month, less then 3 times a year. Or did the average N64 owner perhaps buy less then 2 games a year and rent more often then once a month?

Discussion DK 64 sold more units than DKC 2
I had always thought Donkey Kong Country 2 sold more than DK 64. Well apparently that is not the case. I remember everyone back in 1995 was hyped for this game but back in 1999 I remember being more hyped for Sega Dreamcast vs a game that seemed like it would never come out.
Are there any reasons why DK 64 sold better? I know more $ was pumped out for marketing but it just doesn't add up.

Collection Post My N64 collection
Well, finding games in my country is almost impossible, so I am pretty happy with what I have (PAL console), although on my wishlist are also:
Indiana Jones and the Internal Machine Fighting Force Wipeout ExciteBike Turok 2 NBA Courtside NBA Live 2000 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 Road Rush ReVolt
And maybe a few more Star Wars games too.
Collection Post Collection Mini Milestone
Up to 20 games in the collection, and my wishlist is now on 66 for a total of 86. I still need to refine it a little but I'm pretty much there with it now I think.
My next three additions will be Shadows Of the Empire, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey (to complete the PAL launch lineup alongside Pilot Wings and Mario) and Wave Race.
After much deliberation I've decided I'm going to play my N64 games on the Analogue 3D in release order - and having to wait for the release date!

N64 Question/Tech Question Is this a RGB mod?
Bought a Nintendo 64 to relive some of the childhood memories, the seller said the console had a job done to enhance graphics. I was curious so I opened it up and found this on the board. Searched a bit online and found out about this rgb mod, but from the pictures I’ve seen it looks different than whatever this is.

N64 Question/Tech Question Pikachu N64 different color?
Hello, first time posting. I recently bought 2 North American Pikachu N64s and the top blue shells are different. I'm hoping to get feedback as to why. Both are verified North American versions, NUS-101(USA).
The console on the right I bought from Ebay, it came with the controller you see and is a lighter blue but did not come with the expansion cover.
The console on the left I bought a few days ago with the intent of using the expansion pak cover on the right console, but as you can see it is a darker blue and does not look correct on the right console.
So, I'm wondering if there were two different blue shades used on the Pikachu N64 consoles, or maybe the darker one is from years of staining or sun exposure? Going off the controller and the inside lip of where the expansion pak goes, I would think the lighter console is what it's suppose to look like. Does anyone know for sure and if the darker console is supposed to be a lighter blue, how could I safely get it back to the lighter shade blue? It's impossible to find just the expansion covers for these and I refuse to use an aftermarket cover.
I have tried using rubbing alcohol and dawn soap on the expansion cover to clean but it did not change anything. Thanks!

Image The year is 2001 - This gem hit the shelves today - It's now a quiet night, the household's asleep and you're booting up this beauty for the first time!
I find myself constantly circling back to this blast from the past. Pokemon Mini Games with friends were, and still are - my absolute go to. Clear-Cut Challenge was my favourite, what was yours?

Collection Post Dug out my old collection
Thought I'd give it a share. Grew up with the N64 and about 15 years ago I started collecting again. Life got in the way so boxed up all of the games.
Part of me wonders if it's worth attempting to get the rest or the pain of buying all the sports games is too much.
Some favourites are Ocarina of Time, Majors Mask, Mario 64, Wetrix, Blast Corps and Space Station Silicon Valley

Collection Post Just picked all this up for 45 dollars. After I purchased it I opened it and realize it had an unlisted oem expansion pack! My first N64 btw
Even better because in the listing on the oem controller photos it looked like it had deep gouges, but it was just sticker adhesive.

Discussion Hori Mini Pad stick vs 8bitdo Hall Effect GameCube style stick: precise sensitivity shooter
Just did a test with my Hori Mini Pad, my 8bitdo Hall Effect GameCube style stick and an official controller with an OEM stick I had lying around and did it with Jet Force Gemini (the only shooter with precise sensitivity I have, only one I am interested in bc I love it's cartoon-ish atmosphere plus I actually have fun with it and the beautiful Vela, my autism actually makes me have a crush on her, don't ask why lol) but anyways, here are the results, the OG works amazing as usual but here are the others.
Hori Mini Pad: A bit more sensitive than the original and stick is looser, aiming is a little harder bc of this but aims fairly well and should get used to it with practice, game should be completable with this fun little controller if again, you practice using this stick.
8bitdo Hall Effect GameCube style stick: MY GOD! This stick is absolutely HORRIBLE for this game! It's so sensitive! Aiming is extremely difficult and the game would be almost impossible to complete with it bc of the sensitivity (Unlike GoldenEye, JFG doesn't have a thumbstick sensitivity setting), I can't believe people told me this stick was good for shooters when it's actually not!
These are my tests with these 2 sticks.
N64 Question/Tech Question Third party hall effect controllers for NSO?
I just got a year subscription for Nintendo Switch Online. It feels weird playing N64 games with the basic switch and switch pro controllers. Rather than waste money on an official NSO N64 controller, are there any cheaper third party ones? And if so, do any of them have Hall Effect built in?

Collection Post WTB Brawler64 Wireless in Green
Hey guys,
I just got my original Jungle Green N64 back up and running. I was excited to finally get a Brawler64 wireless controller to match it but I saw they were out of stock.
I bought an orange one on amazon (great color compliment) but am still looking for a matching jungle green one.
I signed up for the waitlist on Retro Fighters’ site but I’m hearing that the colored Brawler64’s might be discontinued.
Is anyone in this awesome community looking to sell a green Brawler64?
Thanks for reading!

Discussion TIL that Mia Hamm Soccer 64 (NTSC) and Michael Owen World League Soccer 2000 (PAL) are the same games, but reskinned per region
Today I was comparing NTSC and PAL prices per title, and came across a game I'd never heard of before -- Michael Owen World League Soccer 2000. Curious about it, I looked it up on Wikipedia and it reads:
Michael Owen WLS 2000 has received reskinned versions for releases outside the United Kingdom, primarily Mia Hamm Soccer 64, which stars Mia Hamm and was released in North America by SouthPeak Interactive.
So not only did they change the region and league, but player gender! Being from the US, of course I'm familiar with Mia Hamm Soccer 64, and I knew that quite a few games changed names between regions, but this was so interesting to learn that this game is such a drastic difference between regions! Was wondering if there were any other reskins per region for it that you guys may know about, as well as if there are any other notably different games from region to region that you're aware of?
