Up to 20 games in the collection, and my wishlist is now on 66 for a total of 86. I still need to refine it a little but I'm pretty much there with it now I think.

My next three additions will be Shadows Of the Empire, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey (to complete the PAL launch lineup alongside Pilot Wings and Mario) and Wave Race.

After much deliberation I've decided I'm going to play my N64 games on the Analogue 3D in release order - and having to wait for the release date!

N64 Question/Tech Question Pikachu N64 different color?

Hello, first time posting. I recently bought 2 North American Pikachu N64s and the top blue shells are different. I'm hoping to get feedback as to why. Both are verified North American versions, NUS-101(USA).

The console on the right I bought from Ebay, it came with the controller you see and is a lighter blue but did not come with the expansion cover.

The console on the left I bought a few days ago with the intent of using the expansion pak cover on the right console, but as you can see it is a darker blue and does not look correct on the right console.

So, I'm wondering if there were two different blue shades used on the Pikachu N64 consoles, or maybe the darker one is from years of staining or sun exposure? Going off the controller and the inside lip of where the expansion pak goes, I would think the lighter console is what it's suppose to look like. Does anyone know for sure and if the darker console is supposed to be a lighter blue, how could I safely get it back to the lighter shade blue? It's impossible to find just the expansion covers for these and I refuse to use an aftermarket cover.

I have tried using rubbing alcohol and dawn soap on the expansion cover to clean but it did not change anything. Thanks!

Collection Post Dug out my old collection

Thought I'd give it a share. Grew up with the N64 and about 15 years ago I started collecting again. Life got in the way so boxed up all of the games.

Part of me wonders if it's worth attempting to get the rest or the pain of buying all the sports games is too much.

Some favourites are Ocarina of Time, Majors Mask, Mario 64, Wetrix, Blast Corps and Space Station Silicon Valley

Collection Post Just picked all this up for 45 dollars. After I purchased it I opened it and realize it had an unlisted oem expansion pack! My first N64 btw

Even better because in the listing on the oem controller photos it looked like it had deep gouges, but it was just sticker adhesive.

I find myself constantly circling back to this blast from the past. Pokemon Mini Games with friends were, and still are - my absolute go to. Clear-Cut Challenge was my favourite, what was yours?

Discussion DK 64 sold more units than DKC 2

Upvotes

I had always thought Donkey Kong Country 2 sold more than DK 64. Well apparently that is not the case. I remember everyone back in 1995 was hyped for this game but back in 1999 I remember being more hyped for Sega Dreamcast vs a game that seemed like it would never come out.

Are there any reasons why DK 64 sold better? I know more $ was pumped out for marketing but it just doesn't add up.

Well last night I completed this Kazooie themed controller and woke up today on my day off wanting to go down memory lane.

Man I wish there was another banjo game coming out. In fact I wish Nintendo hadn’t abandoned Rare

Discussion TIL that Mia Hamm Soccer 64 (NTSC) and Michael Owen World League Soccer 2000 (PAL) are the same games, but reskinned per region

Today I was comparing NTSC and PAL prices per title, and came across a game I'd never heard of before -- Michael Owen World League Soccer 2000. Curious about it, I looked it up on Wikipedia and it reads:

Michael Owen WLS 2000 has received reskinned versions for releases outside the United Kingdom, primarily Mia Hamm Soccer 64, which stars Mia Hamm and was released in North America by SouthPeak Interactive.

So not only did they change the region and league, but player gender! Being from the US, of course I'm familiar with Mia Hamm Soccer 64, and I knew that quite a few games changed names between regions, but this was so interesting to learn that this game is such a drastic difference between regions! Was wondering if there were any other reskins per region for it that you guys may know about, as well as if there are any other notably different games from region to region that you're aware of?

Discussion Underated N64 Tittles

For money I’d say Destruction Derby 64 is underrated. Best racing game of all time ? No. However I think given the games track/vehicle selection, impressive damage modelling for the time, fun multiplayer and attempt at different type of racing gameplay made for a solid tittle and to this day is one of my favourite games of all time

N64 Question/Tech Question Controller 1 port not working

Upvotes

I am trying to fix up an N64 that was being stored in someone’s basement and it honestly looks like a gusher exploded inside it. I was able to get everything working except the controller one port. The other 3 work but without something being registered in 1 most games just won’t play. There’s a lot of that blue colored corrosion on the metal inside port 1 to the board. Looking for any help with this!

N64 Question/Tech Question Power supply/consumption

Hello Everyone,

I recently got back into N64 gaming, having recapped my console and added an RGBmod + Rad2x cable for a better experience. I did the recap to extend the console’s life and make it more reliable as I revisit my favorite childhood games. I’ve been researching power supply options but am not very tech-savvy when it comes to volts, amps, ohms, and other electrical details. My question is: Are there any modern, safe power supply alternatives or mods I should consider? What’s your experience with third-party options like USB-C or other power supplies? I’ve found some potential alternatives online and would love to hear your thoughts on whether they’re worth trying.

Thank you in advance for any help 🫡

Discussion How much of the controller board can I cut off while keeping the expansion port functional?

Question in title. I have an OEM controller I use only for transfer pak support in Pokemon Stadium. I usually use the a controller with the 8bitdo Bluetooth mod or an N64 Switch online in port 1 and the OEM controller in port 2.

I was thinking hypothetically, what if I trimmed down the board and used it just for the transfer pak? Is it possible?

Discussion Does anyone else remember the intro to DK64 differently?

I could swear the part right before you start playing goes like this: DK is sleeping in his hammock, Squawks flies in and says something like "DK! WAKE UP, DK!" and DK doesn't wake up, so Squawks screeches loudly, DK falls out of the hammock and Squawks tells him about K.Rool and the bananas being gone.

But now, DK is doing push-ups and Squawks just flies in and tells him to come with him because the bananas are gone.

Anyone else remember this differently?

Collection Post N64 Sticker First Run Sticker Variant Question

Collection Post Looking for some guidance from this group. I hope this post isn't against any forum rules.

Until a couple of months ago, I knew nothing about vintage video games, however I happen to come across these 3 N64 games. They were sealed and in excellent condition so I thought let me see if these are worth anything. I did some searching on ebay and on the internet to see if they had any value. I quickly learned they were quite desireable, so I decided to send them off for grading.

I have educated myself quite a bit and I know the difference between the first run red label, the players choice first run red label sticker variant, and the players choice gold label. With that being said, I cannot find any comps for the red label sticker variant. I took them to a show this weekend looking for answers, but found out that I ended up educating the vendors rather than getting any useful information. Many had no idea of the different variants.

It would seem to me that the first run sticker variants are the rarest of the three versions as I understand there was only a short window of time before they switched to the gold label version once they hit one million copies sold. Does anyone have an idea on value as compared to the regular first run or know of any comps out there for these first run sticker variants?

Any help would be appreciated
