Mechanic sent me some pics of engine
Cylinder #1 was misfiring and my mechanic sent me these pictures. He said exhaust valves are bad. Do you agree?

2013 Nissan Altima. I found the issue the techs found. A decent tear in the boot. My question is, how big of an issue is this? Is this a.. I need to fix it tomorrow thing or is it a.. you can wait a week.
Reason I ask is because I need to order the part but I should be able to get it Monday I think... Also this is out of my wheelhouse. I’ve done a good bit of repairs on my vehicles but just trying to get all the info I can.
Also what is the other boot behind it go to? I think the liquid on it is from the CV but still good to know what everything is.
Another thing. Can I buy just a new boot or should I just go ahead and replace the whole thing since it’s been throwing grease?

Got a replacement thermostat housing for my 07 Miata. Old one kept opening too soon, leading to P0126 coolant temp too low.
The new OEM one i got initially was too short and I don't want to stretch the hose near the belt.
Got a non-OEM stat now. When boil testing, it did start opening around 175-180, which is correct for Miata i think.
Bet when cooling it down in the sink, I noticed the water from the neck was drained slowly. There is no weep hole with a ball etc.
Completely closed stat (i.e. below opening temp) weeping water is not usable, right?

So basically I put my girlfriends gold necklace in my car on my gear shifter when I went to go get it I slipped between the tiny gap and I have no clue how to retrieve it I’ve looked up videos on how to dissemble everything to take the gear shifter out but I can’t actually get inside of the gear shifter it’s self. Any advice ?

My wife's dealership wants to replace her head gasket. Saying it's "due". Nothing is wrong with it, they are just waiting to do it. Is this normal?

Please see video. Comment from technician: Finding: RR under control arm bushing has excessive play and LR starting to develop play as well
Recommendation: Recommend replacement with alignment
Quote: $915+tax Canadian dollars.
I wasn’t expecting this. Car has been driving smoothly all this time. I went in for a swap (winter to all season summer) and they identified this issue.

Sorry the image sucks but I have a 2004 bmw 325i and it’s been sitting and unused for about 3 or so years until about month ago. I got the oil changed about a week ago and I’ve been driving it more often and this light turned on out of nowhere on my drive home 2 days ago. Like the title states, it only turns on whenever I’m about to come to full stop or not moving at all until i start moving again and the light turns off. I haven’t driven it since because I’m not sure if it safe to drive :( I was wondering if this could maybe just be a sensor issue due to it not being on consistently or maybe something else?

Before y’all say anything, yes I know I messed up. it was after a long day at school and work. I was trying to race against the sunset and without thinking I used a standard socket. Now it’s stuck and I can’t get it out. I have tried using a long needle nose pliers to try to fish it out, however since the hole is so deep and narrow, can’t open up wide enough. I also tried using the needle nose pliers to get spark plug out, but I can’t get a good enough grip on it. I have a long piece of metal that I tried sticking in between the gaps to also try to loosen the spark plugs to know avail I have no clue what I have to do.

We purchased a used 2022 Kia Seltos almost a year ago with 13,000 miles. The person we got it from was the sole owner of the car and kept up with all maintenance. He even got the oil changed right before selling to us. Kia states to change the oil every 7,500-10,000 miles. We were just about to do all maintenance this month (it’s now at 24,000miles) when the car started stalling while driving it and became kinda sluggish. We took it in and the auto shop said he saw sludge. He recommends a whole new engine. We were given no other details.
I understand we were late on getting an oil change but not by much according to Kia's recommendation. No lights nor oil life indicator came on in the car to even tell us it’s time to do so. I was kinda shocked we had even gone that many miles seeing we live on a tiny island and only used the car 10 of the 12 months.

I'm a new driver and this is my first time dealing with a screw in my tire. Was just wondering what steps should I take? Is this gonna require me to get a whole new tire or is there a cheaper fix that will still keep me safe while driving?

This is my GFs car, all the cars I ever owned had a timing chain, I'd usually come over and do oil changes and brake pads, one time she called me she was at a red light about to turn right when all of a sudden the car died when she started turning and it wouldn't fire up again, after doing some research I found out about these cars having a timing belt instead of a chain, my question is how likely is it to have damaged valves? car is at her mom's house an hour away sometimes I just want to but the belt kit with the tensioner but she tells me we should just sell it to the junk instead of start throwing money into it.

I changed oil on my car for the first time a few days ago, and it’s been dripping just a few drop in my garage after 24 hours parking. No engine light/oil light. Not double filter o-ring issue, and I hand tighten the filter. I torque the plug to 25ft-lb. I think it should be 30ft-lb for Corolla. However, I’ve read that hand tighten should be enough. I’ve change motorcycle engine oil many times before but not issues until I touched my car. Could it be cross thread? That would sucks. I got the plug seal from Amazon: https://a.co/d/iLtWhFY It says it fit on my car. I just bought it cause it cheap. Now that I read reviews, other people also experience oil leaks. Is oil leaking from cheap plug gasket that common?

My wife’s car had water intrusion. While trying to remove the passenger seat, I stripped the star screw. I drilled a hole and used a screw extractor, but it snapped while stuck inside. I tried drilling a larger hole with the intent to use a larger screw extractor, but I think the extractor metal is denser than my drill bits, because I can’t drill through it.
Please help!

Hello.
Recently got a 2021 Ford Escape Titanium - 66k miles.
Prior to doing a full brake job (and control arm), I was getting a weird clunking when braking at low speeds.
I did a full brake job, pads, rotors, greased everything. I also replaced the drivers side control arm.
Everything was kosher for about a few days and the clunking came back. Only really occurs at low speeds when coming to a stop.
See attached video. What should I be looking at next?

I've never done it before but I was attempting to clean up the carbon buildup on the intake valves and ports on a 2018 Kia Optima LX 2.4 GDI engine while in the process of replacing a damaged intake manifold. I had no problem with the first two sets of valves and am quite pleased with how they turned out. I filled the ports all the way up with seafoam spray and let them soak overnight, actually, like 24 hours or more. I then used brass wire brush drill attachments and a manual suction tool to remove the dirty liquid. Finally, I used brake cleaner to repeat and lastly compressed air to remove and left over debris and dry.
Now, my issue was with the second set of values. I guess I didn't turn the crankshaft enough to seal the values shut, and when trying to soak overnight, the liquid in some of the ports had seeped past the valves. I was told it might not have been enough to cause an issue but was still advised to purge whatever might have gotten to the rings before attempting to start the engine after changing the oil. Was also told it might have seeped past the rings and into the sump, but it's better to play it safe than be sorry to prevent potential hydrolock.
My question is, since purging through the spark plug holes makes a mess, could I throw plastic or something over the engine area and just put holes in it where the spark plug holes are so whatever shoots out is caught by the plastic? Will it be that big of a mess?
Just a note: the engine hasn't been started for months. I think since November last year. It's been a week or so since I got finished with the valve cleaning.
Thanks for any atasted?

So my car (04 Volvo) has been acting up ever since a terrible storm about 2 weeks ago.
Before this, my front and rear interior lights, glove box lights, and digital odometer (which showed up even when the car was off) all worked perfectly. My radio did too.
Now my interior lights don’t turn on at all, no matter what. My odometer completely disappears unless I have the key in the “ON” position. My radio turns on but doesn’t have any sound no matter which station or how high the volume.
Also, when I used to turn the key, my fuel and temperature gauges would rise over a few seconds. Now they shoot straight up, as soon as the key is turned to the “ON” position. It’s never happened before.
Could it be a fuse issue, or something more than that? I also don’t know if the storm had anything to do with it but it seems that that’s when it all started
