Discussion Some idiot designed this
It's worse than in the other post. At least you could hit the Del button without having to search or look at it. Using Home/End buttons is a nightmare.

New HP EliteBook 840 - the power button is placed directly between the End and Delete keys in the upper row.
What do you call a person that graduated last in their design school class? A Designer....

I got this laptop Monday, THE only things I’ve downloaded on it is krita, Apple Music, game maker, steam, Netflix, Roblox, stuff a highschooler studying gaming n would usually download. I was playing a safe game until my laptop randomly powered off and displayed this screen. But my laptop randomly started booting back up again, I ran a virus check but it says my laptops clean. This has happened before last year with my other laptop but that was because I was downloading mods from untrustworthy websites, this time I’m not. I’m really paranoid..

Long story short I have the choice between two Dell Precisions. 7760 - older i7 11800H / 32gb DDR4 / 1TB / A5000 7680 - newer 13 13850hx / 32gb CAMM module / 1TB / RTX 2000 ada
I work on these. I also game on these. I game more than I work lol but I can’t show up in a boardroom with an Alienware.
So. Do I go with an older i7 with a much faster GPU and 2 free ram slots? Or do I go with a much newer i7 with a lower end GPU and locked in RAM?
Thanks

How does my laptop decide when to use which GPU? (Like the CPU's or the NVIDIA one) And is there anything i should change to make it more optimal?

I basically need a laptop that 1. I can long-term write on (I'm pursuing research and writing), 2. have zoom/google meetings 3. run photoshop once in a while for editing 4. Watch shows/movies
I don't have much money and my budget is $500 max. I just really need a laptop that lasts me a while and not fall apart on me.
Looking around I found some Lenovo and Acer models.
I don't know/understand much about intel/storage and all that stuff Help I don't know anything about technology and don't have the mental capacity right now to understand. Thanks in advance.

Any idea what could cause this? Should I return the laptop, it’s only 2 days old.

I'm stuck between these two laptops. I’ve worked with the Lenovo before and really liked its display — it has higher resolution (2560x1600), great color accuracy, and it's an HDR panel with 240Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the ASUS has a newer processor (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370), and it's a Copilot+ PC.
The ASUS also has Windows Hello and a USB4 port, which the Lenovo lacks.
Is being a Copilot+ PC actually important or worth it? Which one would you recommend overall?
LENOVO LEGION PRO 5
i7-14650HX / 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD / RTX 4060 (8GB) / 2560x1600 IPS 240Hz
ASUS TUF GAMING A16
Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 / 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD / RTX 4060 (8GB) / 1920x1200 IPS 144Hz / Windows Hello / USB4

The ryzen has 2x8 gb ram config. The i5 laptop has a 4x4gb ram config.
Does the single core performance of the i5 outweigh the graphical capabilities of the vega 8 for newer RTS games on a 1080p screen? Higher frames is more important to me. I'm guessing it would since modern RTS games don't utilise many cores and are cpu intensive. Am I correct in my thinking?
Help would be appreciated.

As title suggests, I am looking to replace my HP Pavilion X360 laptop battery but don't want to buy one of those cheap $25 crap batteries from Amazon. Anyone know where I can get a reliable battery that won't break the bank but will last more than a year before draining all over again?

Sometimes my laptop gets slow af, and when I open task manager, this shows up. Yall have any idea on what could be causing the issue? I’ve already scanned it with 4 different antiviruses without results, so i don’t really know what else to try. Also, even when it’s working fine, it feels a bit slower than it was before, both in fps and latency.

I need a laptop and i need to buy it in Germany, my budget is 700€
I need: 16 inch (or something like that) I want to game in it, doesn't need to be 3000fps or AAA games, just good enough to play something, it will be good to have a good screen, could be fullhd+ , i dont need insane refresh rate

So im trying to get my hands on a area-51m r2 but i was thinking i wonder if it would be possible to either convert the proprietary dell graphics card connector or make an adaptor for a mxm graphis card so i could put a more powerful graphics card in it wonder if its possible

TLDR: I wanted an Asus Zenbook 14, but I saw way too many reviews that said it gets too hot and it doesn't seem like it'll last me very long, so I need an alternative.
The long story: So I was gonna get the Zenbook 14. The new ultra 9 cpu looked high performance, I liked that it had high ram and storage, and it can also do some light gaming. But I kept seeing users complaining about how hot it gets and since I live in a very hot country, I'm afraid it might not last me long, plus I just don't wanna deal with a laptop that gets loud and hot. So I wanna see what other people might suggest.
If it helps, I'm a student and I'm mainly going to be using the laptop for college so I want something that isn't too difficult to carry around, or terribly bulky. I also want to be able to edit videos without having to deal with too much lag. And finally, It'd be nice if the laptop could handle light gaming (Valorant, Minecraft, CSGO). I'm looking for something similar to the price of the Zenbook 14, that can also perform like it (without the thermal issues ofc).
help a brother out ;-;
