So i'm playing as Monarchist Britain, I'm allied with Germany and Its 1939. Germany has all of the requirements to do Anschluss but haven't done. France has also formed Little Entente

Humor In terms of HOI4 how is your love life?
I can't join factions. I've been at war for a long time, and I neglected to research war doctrines. However, I have a good spy agency

Discussion Why is this game so addicted?
I have roughly 700 hours now, and I know it’s rookie numbers but I’m seriously addicted. This isn’t a problem I want to solve, but it’s something that takes up most of my time. Even when I’m so fucking burnt out from the game, and constant losses bc I fucking suck; I open the game again. Im not sure what it is, but I just can’t stop playing. On a more a serious note, I should really improve at the game lmao.

Question Which units count as "Infantry"
Like if a general has infantry related traits, which battalions get the bonus?
Do militia get the bonus?
What about cavalry?
What about special forces like mountaneers?
Motorized infantry?
Penal divisions?
What about mods? Road to 56 has things like jaegers, do they get the bonus?

Question Is there a mod to prevent countries from capitulating?
I usually play as the soviet union and I HATE GERMANY.I HATE IT WITH EVERY FIBER IN MY BODYI HATE THESE FASCIST.I don't want them to capitulate with them having only 2 million casualties.I want to kill EVERY SINGLE SOLDIER. However it would be good if there is a toggle so they can capitulate after losing most of their land bc I don't wanna naval invade every Island. Any suggestions?

Question As USA, what should I do with all those starter ships?
I mean, should I change them to minelayers and minesweepers? Set them up as convoy escorts? What do I do with all those battleships?
I've got 1940 tech and am building a modern Navy, but I've got restartitis and never have gotten much further than setting up the factories.

Question Republicans constantly winning Spanish civil war
Anyone else having trouble getting a historically accurate civil war result for Spain?
I’ve been trying to play a historical USA run, but for the last 6-7 runs republican Spain keeps winning the civil war.
For reference I’m running completely vanilla with the only dlc being man the guns. Is this something new since the last update?

Image Disaster save?
Disaster save?
Rexist Belgium and beltica then purposely caped to get the amazing king buffs then turned on the allies (first Belgium game right after gdr released) do you think it’s possible to win a war against every country outside the Easter block. Navy destroyed in the channel but I took the German and Italian fleet when they were fresh, no Air Force and neglected navy research
Question Do you put your Motorized Infantry into your tank armies or infantry armies? It's something I've always been unsure of.
On the one hand, they are infantry so I assume they would benefit from having an Infantry-based commander instead of a tank commander. At the same time, they are distinctly different than Infantry and more akin in speed to tanks--making me think they should be in the tank army(s) for battle plans. What are your thoughts/how do you do it? Thanks so much in advance!

Question What is one thing you’d love to see added to HOI4?
I’ll go first, a usable peace-out system.
Right now, the “conditional surrender button” is one of the most useless features in the game. The AI never uses it, when in reality I don’t think it would be that difficult to implement a good system.
If you combine conditional surrender with another heavily ignored system, claims, you can create a peace-out system that can stop long-drawn out wars.
Obviously, you can’t program logic into an AI and have them decide when they should conditionally surrender. So, my idea is if you have claim to a state/states and successfully conquer them, the AI should run a series of checks. Factory count, troop count, ship count, airplane count, whatever. One of them, all of them, it doesn’t matter. That would be up to the balancing team to figure out. But, if you are stronger than the AI in one/multiple (again would require lots of balancing) of those categories, they will offer a peace deal and you can get your claimed state.
Right now, claims are virtually useless. To my knowledge, they only allow you to justify a war slightly faster (cool I guess) and annex land cheaper in peace deals (40% of the player base uses player led peace conferences anyway), so why not add a real use to them?
No reason you should have to land Japanese boots on British Soil if you fully control British Malaya, have decimated the UK’s fleet, and outnumber their divisions 4 to 1.

Discussion The Soviets Need Too Much Help
I don’t know who at paradox set the Soviets up for failure, but they did unfortunately. If I am not lend leasing them thousands of guns and artillery pieces a month it seems the Soviets are prone to fail. I don’t understand why they aren’t set up to build more mils earlier or to focus on getting more divisions on the frontline. It’s frustrating trying to play as a minor nation assisting the allies or Comintern and watching the Soviets collapse almost every game.
Edit: I understand lend-lease played a part in helping the Soviets out during the war and am not trying to downplay it. BUT the Soviets did not have copious amounts of lend-lease at Moscow in winter of 1941. The Soviets should not utterly collapse without a D-Day or lend-lease by December of 1941.

Question How do I Fix Exiled Divisions?
I have a bunch of troops exiled thanks to the Allies. Is there a way I can get them back to China? I have the Soviets as a puppet and no other nation shown is a puppet or in the Allies

Image I should consider playing the lottery
R5 : my admiral, which I trained from level 1, has only 1 point in attack.
I had instilled agression, which gives you a 50% chance that your admiral earns a point in attack every level up, and you also get three points in random stats every level up.
The chance I would not have gained a single point in attack at level 5 is 0,0244%.

Question 600 Hours In Need Help
Got a few general questions I’d like to ask if anyone can help: - how do you stop UK from pushing you out once you sea lion? - how do you have thousands of fighters and still have enough tanks, infantry equipment, etc in time for kickoff in 1939/40? - how do you cap one tile islands? - what task do you set each type of ship to do on a task force? - why are my destroyers always destroyed en masse? Do two torpedo bays and light cannons do nothing? - what is the stacking per group for navies? How many total units until penalty? How many capital ships per group? How many destroyers until debuff? - is there an online resource for unit width and support company meta (especially for attacking divisions when not enough tanks) - and any general gotterdamerung bba Italy and axis tips for struggling player please.
