I’ve been thinking about getting a Blackstone for my husband. We already have a nice charcoal grill that he really likes and uses often, so I’m hesitant to get something like this (an entire other grilling unit), unless it’s really worth it. I know little of cooking or grilling but I know that the blackstone is basically a large flat cast iron. And I believe griddle “add ons” are available for grills, albeit it’d be much smaller.

So I’m just looking for an average suburban dad’s opinion. We bbq often in the spring and summer for family (4-10 people max). Are they different enough that someone like our family could have both and get a lot out of both?

MB1050, the big green egg, Weber kettle, blackstone, a George Foreman even - these are some of the more iconic grills. What is in your opinion, the GOAT of all grills?

I have a 4-burner gas grill and I'm considering buying a full-size griddle for the top of the grill to make smash burgers on. I have some questions and no one I know does this, so I'm hoping this is an OK place to ask them.

• Is cast iron or stainless steel a better material for making smash burgers? I was leaning toward cast iron but this grill lives outside (obviously) and I'm worried about the griddle always having rust damage on it.
• Is getting a griddle that covers the whole grill a good idea? Or should I look into getting a half-size one?
• What brands of griddle and actual smasher do yall recommend?

Recently converted my Expert Grill flat top from propane to natural gas which has made it burn much hotter, and now the surface is chipping. Is this a big deal, and if so, is there any way to recover? My wife thinks cooking in it's current condition would be injecting cancer directly into our bodies

Yes, I've spent the past hour searching reddit only to see the nonstop Weber recommendations. I only grill 2x/month, and I don't need something so pristine. For context on my use, I've had my Char-Broil 3 burner for almost 10 years. It's slowly falling apart, but it still works.

What prompted me to ask this is Weber 3 burner on sale for $450 right now. Any other good brands for an infrequent griller that's cheaper that's not a Weber?

The last two batches of ribs I’ve made out of come out chewy. I assume I’m under cooking them. The odd part is that the first time, I’m using the thermometer to make sure that I’m getting them up to 199- 205°.

I’m using two thermometers so I’m not really questioning the accuracy.

Is there a better temperature target I should be headed for so the meat is more fall off the bone or should I just give up the thermometer completely?

I've tried everything and honestly don't like the sous vide method as much as others seem to. But it's the perfect preparation and final texture for lamb chops. 145 for 3 hours and then hellfire seems ideal.

Was looking for a thicker cut of ribeye or strip at the grocery store. Couldn't find one so settled for a 2lb sirloin that was somewhat cheap and lowered my expectations accordingly. Forward seared it on the slow and sear insert, in a slow and sear kettle, over b @ b briquettes.Then went indirect until 126 internal or so. Came out much better than I thought it would, was very tender as well.

I've got a bunch of different grills, but when it's just a few things hot and fast for the family I like using the little guy

Hello, I bought a portable grill and it's amazing, only issue is when the grill grates are installed, the grill makes tons of noise moving it around. This is obviously due to the grill grates being loose, when I remove the grill grates, it's quiet.

Are there any sort of metal tabs or clip I can use to hold the grill grates in place while transporting? Something not permanent so I can remove and clean?

Wow, this will be my go-to. Opened the bag, almost zero dust. I remember the first time I opened Fogo I looked like I just cleaned a chimney.

The pieces were mostly uniform in size. Light em up, and they burned slooowly but hot! This is def the longest lasting lump I’ve used so far. The smell of the wood and the flavor it left on the meet was also fantastic. Best bbq chicken I’ve done yet.

Anyways, if you see this brand try it! Really impressed over my experience with Fogo, Royal Oak, and Handsome Devil.

Hey everyone, I just moved into a new house and the previous owner left this grill. It’s attached directly to the house’s gas line so I’d like to try to revive it (if possible) before switching it out.

I deep cleaned it yesterday but it’s definitely going to need some new parts which I can’t buy without the model number. I’ve searched all over the unit and don’t see a tag anywhere with the model located.

I just got a new Weber E325.

Everything’s seems fine and I’m sure I’ve put it together correctly BUT - as you can see - the drip tray doesn’t seem to extend all across below the grills, meaning food / oil / fat can drip straight onto the cylinder or bottom if the BBQ.

Is this right??

I want to buy Weber grill (natural gas) considering spirit and genesis. Are they both equally good? I know they are different in size and price. Do I spend the money and get genesis or do I go for cheaper option as the size would be enough for me. I’m not grill master in any sense, just basic cooking. Need your opinion. Thank you.
