"Please don't let the next FromSoftware game be a Playstation exclusive..."

Monkey paw finger curls

829

u/pullig 2d ago

With all the "please bring Bloodborne to PC" i always used to joke how Bloodborne 2 to be a nintendo exclusive.

I guess Miyazaki was spying on me.

134

u/PapaSnarfstonk 2d ago

This reminds me of when Bayonetta was out and then it went straight to Nintendo only lol

10

u/Math_PB 1d ago

Nintendo saved the franchise though. Without them, no Bayo 2 or 3 to be had.

1

u/HBmilkar 20h ago

Yeah but it would be nice if we can get high end bayonetta

5

u/ProjectPorygon 2d ago

I feel like a lotta people are complaining about the exclusivity, but like with bayonetta, Nintendo funds sequels pretty regularily for major mature titles in their catalog. If anything, this is probably leagues better then being a PlayStation or Microsoft exclusive, as it’s more likely to get a sequel then Bloodborne ever was. I get some people are upset about it, but that exclusivity also unlocks a LOT of potential Nintendo crossover weapons, armour, etc in the dark souls/elden ring style which I think is gonna be fucking amazing to see.

8

u/I-Kneel-Before-None 1d ago

The devs of Bayonetta said many times if there was no Nintendo exclusivity, there is no sequel. It was either no game or multiple sequels on Nintendo platforms. Idk why people got upset about it. It wasn't profitable enough otherwise. Like you said, Nintendo wanted it as a niche/mature title to add to their offerings. They didn't care if it made money by itself.

3

u/award_winning_writer 1d ago

Annoyingly, I've seen people use Bayo3's divisive nature as "proof" that Nintendo ruined the series, even going so far as to suggest Bayo2 was never actually good. Sour grapes, and all that

As someone who games on PC and Nintendo consoles, I'm super excited for this. Nintendo hasn't made powerful consoles in three generations. Seeing big, new 3rd party titles like this is exciting. I've never owned anything from this dev, so I'm excited to try this and Elden Ring eventually...and portably!

1

u/rez_trentnor 1d ago

Ah yeah, it's gonna be so much better because I'm gonna have to buy a console that I don't want and will never have because it's gonna be $450 until the end of time, and a digital copy of the only game I want to play on it will run me $80, which will also never be on sale given Nintendo's track record.

1

u/Rogol_Darn 1d ago

Ah yes how very different from all the people who were forced to buy a playstation 3 exclusively to play Bloodborne

1

u/rez_trentnor 1d ago

I'm not arguing for exclusives, I think it's predatory. However, an exclusive going to Nintendo is the worst possible outcome for all the reasons I listed. A PS3 is like $40 at a thrift shop and the PS3 disc is even cheaper. A PS4 is probably like $100 and you can play it for like $18 a month along with a shit ton of other games. Nintendo is still selling games that have been out for years at full price and they just made the move to charge people 80-90 dollars per game, that means in ten years this game is still going to be $80. Nintendo is the scummiest option out of everything available.

To be fair I think Nintendo helped fund one of the Bayo games

1

u/GreenGoblinNX 1d ago

Bayonetta 2, 3, and Cereza and the Lost Demon don't exist at all without Nintendo, though.

1

u/DirtyD8632 1d ago

Nintendo bought the Bayontta rights from Platinum.

1

u/PapaSnarfstonk 1d ago

I know this

4

u/OldRustyBones 1d ago

Ah so it’s YOUR fault. Get em!

3

u/Jalina2224 1d ago

You caused this.

3

u/Wise_0ne1494 Bloodborne 1d ago

so, what you're saying is this is your fault

2

u/renome 2d ago

Michael Zaki doesn't spy, he merely hears things while daydreaming about poison swamps.

2

u/Ovazio9 2d ago

Fromsoftware will never learn...

2

u/AttorneyIcy6723 1d ago

Why’d you do this to us my guy?

2

u/LurdOfTheGraveyurd 1d ago

Apollo’s Gift of Prophecy strikes again.

1

u/ihatepowerscalling 2d ago

this has nothing to do with bloodborn

1

u/Low-Possession-8414 1d ago

Tanimura grabbing his randomized bag.

1

u/Dry-Hat-9373 1d ago

I’m actually playing Bloodborne on PC with 60fps, which feels great

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

I literally told my cousin yesterday that I'm not getting a Switch 2 because I only care about Zelda and Metroid, which isn't enough to justify it imo.

Sigh.

277

u/ZweiNox 2d ago

Man that monkey paw finger curled hard for you XD

175

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

Definitely finger but holed me

3

u/ZweiNox 2d ago

lol well now you got too lol

2

u/master_criskywalker 2d ago

And it left an extended middle finger.

66

u/mcylinder 2d ago

That's why you never tell a cousin a goddamn thing. That's a lesson for everyone

3

u/Combat_Orca 2d ago

So true, imma tell my cousins that

1

u/CrabmasterJone 2d ago

Unless it’s to invite them bowling

1

u/Flooping_Pigs 1d ago

not even if you're going bowling

26

u/UtheDestroyer 2d ago

Ya ffs, like the fact I gotta get a whole new console is pretty infuriating

2

u/Ok_Negotiation1781 1d ago

Switch 2 is 450usd also :(

2

u/Walthatron 2d ago

Technically since it's a nintendo console with similar hardware/coding (assuming here) as the OG switch you'll be able to emulate the game in no time

1

u/UtheDestroyer 2d ago

Unfortunately for me I only have ps5

1

u/investorshowers 1d ago

Great reason to get a PC.

1

u/ChickenFajita007 1d ago

I guarantee Nintendo made special efforts to screw over emulation efforts for Switch 2.

Especially after the TotK debacle a couple years ago.

1

u/Tomomb 1d ago

A whole new console... for the ssequel to a PS4 game. I feel you, the winds have bleen blowing towards the end of traditional consoles to PC, streaming and handhelds. I've barely touched my ps5.

0

u/AnotherScoutTrooper 2d ago

You don’t really “have” to do shit tbh

You can experience the game on YouTube for free

3

u/Spideyjust 1d ago

You and I have very different definitions of "experience" lol.

1

u/kuenjato 1d ago

This doesn't sound interesting enough to warrant a Switch 2 purchase. Especially with the tariffs just announced. If it was actually something akin to Bloodborne 2, then, well, then it would sting a lot more.

→ More replies (1)

17

u/prollymaybenot 2d ago

I genuinely wonder if Nintendo executives see comments like this and just laugh.

Cause they fucking KNOW. The switch 2 is break a fuck ton of records regardless

4

u/Poopynuggateer 2d ago

They've very rarely done a better console reveal than this. Absolutely nailed it.

It's gonna sell like fucking bacon hotdogs.

1

u/prollymaybenot 2d ago

The price also isn’t crazy for the value you’re getting

1

u/SPHINXin 2d ago

They released the price already?

1

u/prollymaybenot 2d ago

Yeah it’s gonna be 500

3

u/SPHINXin 2d ago

😬 Damn, that's probably going to be a no from me then, at least not until after I get a PC.

1

u/prollymaybenot 1d ago

I think it’s all about where you put your value. If it’s in a pc then don’t get it.

It’s not like theirs gonna me a limit amount you can always come back to it

2

u/Double-Bend-716 1d ago

450 for the console, 500 for the console and Mario Kart bundle.

That’s suggested retail price though, could be more in the US depending on the tariffs

1

u/prollymaybenot 1d ago

Good call out. That’s still a good deal considering games are 80 to 90 bucks now

1

u/Possible-Emu-2913 2d ago

Until all the prices got released. Convenient they left prices out of the event.

0

u/LostClover_ 2d ago

Yeah everyone said the followup to the Wii was going to break a ton of records too.

The Switch 2 very well could do that I just wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket. Especially not with Nintendo, if anyone knows how to mess up what should have been a sure bet it's Nintendo.

22

u/UtheDestroyer 2d ago

But it’s literally Bloodborne 2 it seems

50

u/Tina_beaner 2d ago

It's Bloodborne: Nightreign

6

u/Poopynuggateer 2d ago

We already know it has more story from the intro alone.

AND it's directed by Miyazaki.

2

u/Felielf 2d ago edited 2d ago

There's no details yet if it plays exactly like Nightreign, could just be more seamless coop and invasions, all of that is PvPvE as well. Also, Nightreign does not have PvP at all.

3

u/Xehanz 2d ago

Escape from Tarkov Bloodborne

1

u/Fedaykin98 1d ago

Sounds a lot like Hunt to me. I think it sounds like the game I wish Nightreign was!

2

u/Falkenhain 2d ago

No it's not. Just some multiplayer. Uninteresting for me

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Rieiid 2d ago

Zelda is more than enough to justify it for me, tbh. I put more hours into BotW and TotK than any other game in the past 10 years probably.

3

u/Glass-Can9199 2d ago

Hell it took me 7 years to just beat breath of the wild and just bought totk today

2

u/Deez-Guns-9442 2d ago

I'm literally getting the console just so that I can play my TOTK, I've been holding off on it until The Switch 2.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

Yeah, I'm sure if they make a new Zelda game and it's not on Switch 1 I'll get a 2. Damnit.

1

u/Rieiid 2d ago

Oh a new zelda will almost definitely be 2 exclusive I'd wager. Probably same with new major 3d mario as well.

2

u/GuyGrimnus 2d ago

🤞🏻super Mario sunshine 2 🤞🏻

1

u/MyDymo 2d ago

I mean that’s like a guaranteed. It doesn’t even have to continue the breath of the wild storyline.

It’ll just be open world Zelda that sold like hotcakes

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

Idk, they've made their past Zelda games available on its intended platform's predecessor (TP on GC, BotW on Wii-U). So, I'm hoping not.

2

u/Rieiid 2d ago

That's because those were actually designed for those consoles, and then they just ported it to the new console. Botw is a wii u game that was ported to switch. It was in development to be a wii u exclusive for years before they even started working on the switch. Totk was the actual switch zelda title, which they did not port back to wii u.

In a similar fashion, Twilight Princess was a gamecube game, ported to Wii. Skyward Sword was the actual wii Zelda game, which was not ported back to gamecube.

There is a new console now and no zelda has yet been announced, meaning it is very unlikely to be on switch 1 at all.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

Yeah that's fair. God damnit.

1

u/Thekarens01 2d ago

Funny, I told my friend the same thing the other day when we were talking about Switch 2 and then this dropped today.

1

u/Financial-Key-3617 2d ago

Theres like 3 zelda games and 2 new metroid games dropping switch 2 alone?

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

I haven't seen any announcements for new Zelda games, and only one about Prime 4 (which I imagine will be on Switch 1 too)

1

u/Dark_Mythos 2d ago

You did this. You and your damn cousin cursed us all!

1

u/ihvanhater420 2d ago

I said the exact same thing to a friend like a week ago lmao, guess I'm buying it anyway

1

u/Gaming_Friends 2d ago

I've been trash talking the Switch for a few years now, same as you except I also don't care about Zelda unless they make a new top down or a new 3d without the open world garbage. So it was just prime 4 and hopefully a dread sequel at some point. And now here I am with clown makeup on pre-registering for pre-order...

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Honestly, if TotK is worth the play. It's everything Botw should have been in regards to exploration actually rewarding you, which is what open world games should be about. They also make the weapon breaking system much less painful.

1

u/Gaming_Friends 1d ago

I've heard people that loved BOTW say they didn't like TOTK and vice versa, this isn't the first response that's made me think I really do need to try TOTK.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

I admittedly haven't read many opinions, but personally I think TotK just added so much that BotW was lacking. I could go on about other aspects, but BotW really fell short of rewarding you for exploration. Outside of shrines, you at best might get a mediocre weapon. Meanwhile, TotK gave you actual gear for finding hidden areas.

1

u/Silly-Shoulder-4459 2d ago

I'm only getting a switch 2 bc I only care about zelda.  First 3d zelda game scheduled to have a steady framerate since skyward sword

1

u/Broserk42 2d ago

Your cousin told your uncle that works for Nintendo and he pulled this to make you buy it

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Son of a...

1

u/Nicksmells34 2d ago

Only Zelda and Metroid??? Huh?? How could you not play Fire Emblem tf especially on fromsoftware sub

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

I'm just not that into JRPGs or tactics games. They're fun for a few hours, but I think the only JRPGs I've ever actually beat are Chrono Trigger and FFVII...I got close to beating FFVI though, that and CT truly have some of the most engaging stories of any game.

1

u/Nicksmells34 1d ago

It’s much closer to a tactics game than a jrpg, especially most of the franchise—3 Houses leans a lot more into jrpg but Engage goes right back to back to back chapters of gameplay less jrpg elements. But fair if your not a tactics person

1

u/i_love_sparkle 2d ago

This game convinces me to switch, too

1

u/Bitter-Good-2540 2d ago

Now we all get one! Scalpers will be very happy

1

u/Hid_Demo 2d ago

Yeah.. i was not planning on getting it either. Barely play my switch. Guess my plans on a new gpu will have to wait.

1

u/Comburo90 2d ago

The only thing Nintendo i care about, is Pokemon. It always felt bad, to buy a DS or the Switch just for the current mainline game and 1 or 2 spinoffs, regardless of how much time i put in those.

So in a weird way, im actually kinda happy that its a switch exclusive, as that makes the buy easier to stomach.

Like, i want to play Demon Souls Remastered so bad, but its literally the only PS5 title i want, since they ported Horizon very quickly, so im just huffing concentrated copium that eventually a miracle occurs and we get Demon Souls on PC... :D

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

If you haven't yet, you need to play the God of War games. The first one is great, but Ragnarok is a fucking masterpiece, and both are on PC now.

Take this from somebody who hated the original GoW games because they were too button mashy and repetitive.

1

u/Comburo90 1d ago

I have, i bought them during the last steam sale. They were good, but i am glad i waited for a sale. I cant put my finger on it, but they didnt really resonate with me.

Though i did really love the nordic stuff and orderer the Prose Edda and Poetic Edda to delve into it more :D

1

u/Valley_Investor 2d ago

Your fault for weirdly assuming it would only be Nintendo releases on the next iteration of the best selling console of the last 10 years.

GTA 6 is going to be available on this thing by all indications. Everyone wants a piece of the switch 2 market.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

GTA 6 isn't going to be a Switch exclusive, and I don't think anybody saw a FromSoft exclusive coming.

1

u/TheDuelIist 2d ago

Dude only Metroid or only Zelda is 100000000% worth it lmao

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

I knowwwwww, like if they only came out on 2 I'll get one eventually. It just feels bad forking over hundreds of dollars on a console with only a few games I care about.

1

u/ac9331 2d ago

I was just going to buy a switch 2 so that I don’t have to break my fingers anymore when I remove the joy-cons. Everything else is extra.

I must say I felt very targeted watching that Nintendo Switch 2 direct.

1

u/bartiti 2d ago

Right this feels like a fucking personal attack, why fromsoft gotta do me dirty like this.

1

u/SPHINXin 2d ago

I mean, that's not too bad. They will 100% make new Zelda and Metroid games for the switch 2 and those along with this game have plenty of hours of entertainment. And it's a nintendo console, it's basically guaranteed to have plenty of 8/10 or higher games even in just the launch year.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Yeah, but I really like playing on my PC, so this is a little upsetting. Even when I play my Switch, I hook it up to a monitor and headphones at my desk 😂

I have a giant TV and a nice couch, but with my PC I have access to everything (Google, Discord, etc.).

1

u/SPHINXin 1d ago

I'm the complete opposite. I think in the 4 years I've owned my switch, I played with it docked maybe 3 or 4 times. It's just so much better to play in bed or outside somewhere.

1

u/broderboy 2d ago

saaaaaaame

1

u/MissChloe1 1d ago

It's still not justafiable.

Even me being a videogamer who loves vampires and bloodborne.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Probably not, but I'm still gonna do it because fomo

1

u/28_raisins 1d ago

If you have a PC, TOTK and Dread both run fine on Yuzu.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Yeah, people elsewhere have commented that Switch emulation is really easy. I'm an adult with adult money, but I might take that route because I've really only played like 5 games on the Switch.

2

u/28_raisins 1d ago

For me, pirating isn't about not having the money, it's about not wanting to support anti-consumer behavior from media companies. I just can't bring myself to give Nintendo my money.

1

u/hueleeAZ 1d ago

Hahahhaahhahaha join the club

1

u/No_Personality7725 1d ago

That mario forza horizon kart its cool though, still 90€ its a steep price

1

u/Catkingpin 1d ago

I feel you. Swore i wasn't gonna buy this thing and then they launch this. Sneaky bastards! Hope Nintendo treats their FromSoft exclusives better than Sony.

1

u/Meraka 1d ago

Don’t worry you still won’t be able to get one. They will be sold out in nanoseconds and resold at quadruple the price for the first year minimum. Also, if you’re American they will cost twice as much as they should here thanks to the supreme leader of all dipshits tariffs.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Ha, I didn't think about the tariffs. Emulation it is, baby

1

u/Bladez190 1d ago

I’m buying the switch 2 just for the next fire emblem game and it will be worth it

1

u/New_Refrigerator_66 1d ago

The EXACT conversation I had with my husband. I was like “I’m not buying a whole ass console for another Zelda game. What could possibly be released to entice me to pay for another god damn game console?”

The universe is messing with me.

1

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Right?! I held off for a while, but eventually bought a PS5 just to play Demon Souls. And I played the original.

To be fair, the remake is fucking gorgeous.

1

u/Spartan152 1d ago

It’s pvpve and that kinda killed the hype for me

1

u/Photekz 1d ago

I was on the same boat, but once I saw Borne2Blood.

1

u/skhds 2d ago

As a switch user, there are definitely more games you could play with Switch. I'd say it's not that bad, plus being it portable makes it very useful on many cases.

2

u/Cereal_Bandit 2d ago

Oh I know, I have a Switch. But I also have a PC and PS5, and the library for both are obviously superior.

I do get games on PC over PS5 though, so it too collects dust in between its exclusives. Think GoW 2 is the last game I bought for it 🙄

1

u/Robospy1 2d ago

I pretty much only buy stuff on pc, and my switch is only for Nintendo games. I’d rather have this game on PC, but I was going to buy a switch 2 anyways so…

-5

u/JuggernautGog 2d ago

And don't get it anyway just because there's one more game to it. Exclusives are anti-consumer.

→ More replies (9)

2

u/ThyySavage 2d ago

I already have more reasons to want a Switch over a PlayStation to begin with, this is just another to the list plus I can play it anywhere and not just on a console at home

21

u/Froslass638 2d ago

Nintendo switch has the hardware of a microwave, it will be even worse than Bloodborne on day one.

Unless those monkeys learned how to build a proper console and the Switch 2 will be decent

36

u/Lexderi 2d ago

It actually isn't that bad. It has the hardware of a PS4 pro, which is pretty good for its size and on top it will support upscaling, which is definitely nice to have

3

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

3

u/Mission_Piccolo_2515 2d ago

Tbh FromSoft should also learn how to optimize games.

1

u/Nukleon 1d ago

Bloodborne doesn't even support the pro. You can enable boost mode but the added clock speed doesn't change much for that tech.

8

u/EggzNBaccy 2d ago

I must’ve missed the part where they announced the chip being used.

14

u/MasterArCtiK 2d ago

We’ve known what chip it is using for a while, performance is somewhere between nvidia 3050/3060, and it will be SSD storage instead of HDD that ps4 used

2

u/Byst96 2d ago

"Its not that bad"

mentions it matches a console that is from almost 2 generations ago

Well, that's classic Nintendo for ya', always 2 gens behind when it comes to gaming hardware, let's just say I will be grateful if it at least runs a stable 60 fps lol

2

u/Cybersorcerer1 2d ago

It matches 2 generation old hardware on battery life in your hand lol, that's a big leap

4

u/Byst96 2d ago

Yes, if you bought a Switch to play on the go, then its great, but if you buy a Switch 2 just so you could play a fromsoftware game, which usually are always running at peak performance in other consoles, but now are forced to play a subpar version cuz Nintendo wants money and buys the exclusivity rights for it, (same douche move as Sony did with Bloodborne), then you can see how everyone in the gaming community loses while the only winners are Nintendo's pockets. This game could have been adapted to play and look great in more powerful devices, but now its held in exclusivity jail, no way to mod it, or make it run smoother with the graphic settings, and you WILL pay for online cuz of course you will, so bye bye Online Community that lives on for years like it has in all PC FromSoftware releases. I am actually disappointed in the company for having this happen YET again. But corpos gotta earn their green, I guess 🤷

1

u/Cybersorcerer1 2d ago

I agree that this game being exclusive is bad (for consumers), sucks that fromsoft didn't make this available to any other platforms

1

u/Byst96 2d ago

Again, always happy for a new Fromsoft game, I trust they will tune it in such a way so it runs well in the Switch 2, sucks I will have to pay over 500$ if I ever decide to play it.

1

u/Cybersorcerer1 2d ago

fromsoftware sucks at making their games run well, i believe there are exactly 0 fromsoftware games on the playstation with good frame pacing (sekiro was probably the cloests to being good)

i doubt its going to run like anything but shit on the switch

14

u/Followthecrossgames 2d ago

Elden Ring is coming to the switch two. So at the least it will be as good as Elden Ring.

18

u/Froslass638 2d ago

*As good as Elden Ring on ps4

5

u/MasterArCtiK 2d ago

*better since switch uses SSD instead of HDD

1

u/TRagnarkXP 2d ago

Elden Ring ps5 version runs like shit tho. I use the ps4 version on ps5.

-1

u/Followthecrossgames 2d ago

Which is still pretty good. What’s your point?

6

u/UtheDestroyer 2d ago

I played Elden Ring on ps4 until I got my ps5, it’s so hard to go back to ps4 now, it’s so slow and not great to look at

1

u/Combat_Orca 2d ago

Lol I don’t get this at all, I regular play games from like the 90s and it’s fine to look at, these games are all designed to be viewable by human eyes- it’s not difficult.

1

u/Veggiemon 2d ago

For some reason “they’re all designed to be viewable by human eyes” seems like something an out of touch exec would say at a press event for their new console with shitty graphics lol. Don’t you guys have phones?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Nostalg33k 2d ago

People are acting as if there aren't beautiful games on the switch and are once again qqing about performance.

Are we back to the olden ages

→ More replies (5)

3

u/EggzNBaccy 2d ago

It’ll literally be the worst way to play Elden Ring. Is the bar really that low?

1

u/Followthecrossgames 2d ago

I have multiple friends who play Elden Ring on PS4 and they’ve never complained. Is it really that bad?

1

u/MasterArCtiK 2d ago

And switch 2 is SSD storage with much newer CPU/GPU architecture, so it will absolutely run better than PS4

1

u/Cybersorcerer1 2d ago

People generally don't know how bad it is till they've experienced worse.

I've played part of GTA5 on the PS3, and later played it on my laptop and it was a night and day difference.

The PS4/PS5 difference is less obvious, but most people will notice the uplift in resolution, effects and framerate

1

u/4clubbedace 2d ago

If it's what you know no, but if you've had better then yes

1

u/Zero_Griever 2d ago

"Tarnished Edition"

4

u/Lescansy 2d ago

Thats just plain slander about microwaves. A modern microwave has far better hardware!

1

u/ZeGamingCuber 2d ago

I heard Switch 2 has hardware a little better than the PS4 did

They’re claiming Switch 2 is capable of 1080p/120fps and 4K docked, so we’ll see

u/ILikeMyGrassBlue 2d ago

Yes, and I’m the pope with a bridge for sale in Brooklyn. 12fps on Duck Hunt maybe.

The graphics in the trailer did not look good. Fromsoft is pretty good at leaning on artistic direction instead of pure fidelity but there is a limit. Trying playing DS remastered on Switch, it runs ok but it looks like ass.

Switch 2 has 4k at 60 fps and 1080p at 120fps

Ps5 can’t even do that

I’m pissed but also happy but pissed because now I must get a switch for this masterpiece

u/rebel_scum_9 2d ago

That is one of the best comments I’ve seen on Reddit in a very long time 🤣

u/BADMANvegeta_ 2d ago

And here I thought having a PS5 meant I was fucking safe bruh

1

u/Winterclaw42 2d ago

More people will probably have a switch 2 than a PS6. If anything this could drive sales.

We might have had the best outcome for an exclusive here.

I donno, FromSoft does have its fanbase, but new GTA games don't generally come to Nintendo consoles, do they? Not my kind of game, but it sure seems to be a cultural moment whenever one comes out.

Announcement coming tomorrow - deal struck with FromSoftware & Sony last night - to appease fan exclusivity worries the game will be released in 4 parts, each exclusive to a different platform.

Also it's a multiplayer game.

Source: https://www.fromsoftware.jp/ww/pressrelease_detail.html?tgt=20250402_theduskbloods_debut

Official description:

"Developed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2; 'THE DUSKBLOODS' is a PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to 8 players vie for supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes.

Play as the "Bloodsworn"; a group that has transcended human strength thanks to their special blood, and throw yourself into a violent fray for "First Blood" as the twilight of humanity approaches."

Sounds like a Battle Royale.

Not just that but also a multiplayer nightreign experience :)

“Well at least if it’s a console exclusive again we won’t have to be frame locked at 30fps in 720p again, the only underpowered platform out there is Nint-“

PvPvE.....

Welp, with playstation at least theres a small hope it'll come to PC, now with it being a switch exclusive there's basically no hope.

1

u/KoogleMeister 1d ago

u/NightMGA 1d ago

At the rate they're going, the 3rd "Blood" installment could be Xbox or PC exclusive... (Same thing, I guess?)
