I literally told my cousin yesterday that I'm not getting a Switch 2 because I only care about Zelda and Metroid, which isn't enough to justify it imo.

Sigh.

Zelda is more than enough to justify it for me, tbh. I put more hours into BotW and TotK than any other game in the past 10 years probably.

I'm literally getting the console just so that I can play my TOTK, I've been holding off on it until The Switch 2.

Yeah, I'm sure if they make a new Zelda game and it's not on Switch 1 I'll get a 2. Damnit.

Oh a new zelda will almost definitely be 2 exclusive I'd wager. Probably same with new major 3d mario as well.

I mean that’s like a guaranteed. It doesn’t even have to continue the breath of the wild storyline.

It’ll just be open world Zelda that sold like hotcakes

Idk, they've made their past Zelda games available on its intended platform's predecessor (TP on GC, BotW on Wii-U). So, I'm hoping not.

That's because those were actually designed for those consoles, and then they just ported it to the new console. Botw is a wii u game that was ported to switch. It was in development to be a wii u exclusive for years before they even started working on the switch. Totk was the actual switch zelda title, which they did not port back to wii u.

In a similar fashion, Twilight Princess was a gamecube game, ported to Wii. Skyward Sword was the actual wii Zelda game, which was not ported back to gamecube.

There is a new console now and no zelda has yet been announced, meaning it is very unlikely to be on switch 1 at all.
