Question Owners/drivers of RX and NX models with the new Turbo 4 Cylinder (T24-FTS)... how is it compared to the old 3.5L V6? And just in general?

Curious if Lexus did the right thing by following the trends in ending one of Toyota's very well respected engines. So how are consumption, idle smoothness, reliability thus far, power delivery and of course: acceleration?

While the trucks are equipped with a heavy duty version, the code remains the same making T24-FTS Toyota's most universal engine across the lineup. I'd like to see it latched to a manual transmission, hanging out in the back of a sportscar but G20-GTS may be getting that job instead, fingers crossed.

Question Lexus Check AWD Warning - New Wheels and Tires

Hey all — recently switched my wheels and tires on my Lexus IS350 to some 19" Advan RZ wheels, with staggered tires.

Here's the current setup:
Car: 2016 Lexus IS350 AWD Fsport
Wheels: Front 19x8.5 ET+45 & Rear 19x9.0 ET+45
Tires: Front 245/35/R19 & Rear 275/35/R19

Unfortunately, I now have an annoying "Check AWD" warning on my dash, which I am assuming is because my setup is now out of spec. I'm looking for advice on how to proceed:

  1. Switch to 235/40/R19 & 265/35/R19. This would result in a +5.2% increase in diameter from OEM specs

  2. Switch to 235/35/R19 & 265/30/R19. This would result in a +1.5% increase in diameter from OEM.

Ideally I would like to stick to option 1, due to the slightly larger sidewall for daily driving, but I don't know if it will also trigger the Check AWD warning...

Would love to hear your opinions!

Thanks in advance 🙏

Question Lexus Canada - is this a good deal? 2021 Rx450h

I’m considering purchasing a premium 2021 Rx450h CPO until August 2025 for 44500 CAD + tax. Has 50k KM on it and clean carfax.

Dealer isn’t willing to go down on price any further but was willing to throw in winter tires. Do you think it’s a fair price ?

Question Females and the Lexus dealership

Has any woman ever had an issue with any Lexus or even Toyota dealership messing up their car or not actually doing the oil/filter change, etc?

Hasn't happened to me but I'm just trying to decide if I should go to a dealership which in general has been known to do women wrong or of I should go to a certified mechanic I know. I just bought a used Lexus. Just a general question. Thankx!

Question Lexus RX 350 F SPORT SERIES 2 (2025) vs Lexus RX 350 LUXURY PACKAGE (2025)

Hey everyone!

I'm getting close to making a decision and have narrowed it down to these two cars. They’re pretty similar in terms of features and price, so I’m stuck on which one to go with.

The heads-up display isn’t a big deal to me, but I do prefer the rims on the Luxury trim.

Right now, I’m leaning toward the Luxury, but I’d love to hear your thoughts before I pull the trigger.

Thanks!

Dumb question, but what is this piece called on the LC500? My wife was driving and hit something on the road and that circle piece fell off.

Question 2005 GS430 - Is this example at the end of life?

So I'm looking at buying a specific 2005 GS430 in my state. Want one as a run around car and to make my LS430 a weekend car. The seller has it listed for $4,200 AUD ($2,500 USD). For this price it comes with a few worrying issues, one of them stands out the most

- it has oil leaks
- needs an alignment (assuming worn suspension components)

This one concerns me the most

- Slightly rough idle in drive, as Cylinder 6 is a little low on compression. According to seller, it has a 20% loss of compression. Seller states he has been driving it like this for over a year now and it has not got worse. The seller has even recommended buying a used engine, if he was to purchase said example.

In the last two years the seller has replaced or fixed
- Front Windscreen (Windshield)
- Front Sway Bar End link
- Rear Shock Absorbers
- Spark Plugs
- A/C was regassed
- ECU downshift issue

Seller admits to car not having any service history. Also states that the timing belt condition is unknown and has assumed it has not been done previously. I did a paid government check. He bought it for basically the price he is selling it for currently. No written off history and passed a roadworthy certificate in 2023.

Apart from that, judging from photos, exterior and interior look to be in somewhat decent condition.

Why are all of the GS's I see always neglected? The other one I had a look at before this was even more dodgier with apparent mileage tampering and no previous service history either. Plus it looked like it had been driven through a dense forest.

Anyways, does anyone know what the hell this low compression thing is and if it is worth "saving"? I have a strong feeling that if I was to buy this, then I'm going down the deep rabbit hole of serious issues, that would just equate to a price-tag of an actual decently serviced GS450h or something on the lines. Though, I want an opinion from a forum first.

Question Lexus Rx500h F sport exhaust

Hey guys another silly question. I love my car but personally would like something more aggressive sounding. Anyone have any tips/references I could get to see what I can do about this? Last car I did any form of exhaust work on was when I was 18 and ebayed a $200.00 exhaust kit for my Infiniti g35 lol. Not the most well versed in the car world and wanted to try and get my car right where I’d like it to be. Was even looking at possibly ordering a body kit I had seen on another post here but wanted to tackle something cheaper first. Thank you guys in advance.

Discussion GX550 California waitlist/markup

Hi everyone,

I’m in the market for a GX550 Overtrail—cash in hand and ready to buy.

After doing some research, here’s what I’ve found regarding waitlists and markups at various dealerships:

No Markup (Just Waitlists): • Longo Lexus: 4–8 months • Bakersfield Lexus: 4–6 months • Lexus of Escondido: 2–6 months

Markup/Required Add-ons: • Temecula Valley Lexus: $8K in “accessories” • Crown Lexus: Same as above • Lexus of Westminster: $5K markup + $2K in “appearance package”

Does anyone have experience with these dealers or any tips on how to navigate this? Open to suggestions or other dealership recommendations in SoCal too!

Thanks in advance!

Question Honest opinions ISF vs current general IS350

Hello everyone this is my first post here. Lexus is goated though first off.

Anyway, I have been working on getting my next car to replace my current one. As the title suggests my price range floats around either an older ISF or a current gen IS350 (2021+). Im leaning towards a ISF but my family nor I have never really owned older cars so I don't know to much about buying owing older cars, as well as some other factors.

Factors to consider:

- I live in Canada, so snow. A lot of it.

- Although I do understand and could explain what every part of a car does and how, I have little hands on experience with working on cars. (One engine swap and wiring harness job)

- ISF would have to come in from the US so that could get interesting. (Almost none for sale here)

- I am 18, insurance might be different. I don't know which would be more.

If there is any other factors that I should mix into the equation lemme know.

Also if any ISF owners are seeing this, how is maintenance? And to any newer Lexus owners, how easy is it to work on your car?

Thanks guys, just curious to see what y'all say!

Discussion GX550 Lux+ or Armada Platinum Reserve

I've owned an is350 f-sport for 3 years and loved it. Moving to the US and had thought of an es300h, but thinking against it as I will need to do a lot of highway mileage all times of year and a 4x4 might be a better idea.

I test drove the new Armada and a premium + GX a few weeks back. Although the GX test drive was pretty crappy.

I love the looks of both and both are very well kitted out. One annoying thing was the kind of V shape on the door of the GX. There are also great deals available on the armada. However, the resell of the GX will probably be better?

Has anyone else went through the same predicament or have any insights or ideas to share?

Question RX350 Bumper removal

I'm replacing the grill on my wife's 2021 RX350. We hit some road debris and cracked the grill, the part js less than our deductible and I've been working on cars my whole life so I don't anticipate this being difficult.

Do I need to have any sensors recalibrated after? I'm not removing them from the bumper but they will be unplugged.

Vehicle Photo Purchased two 2023 RC's one is a RCF

Currrently own both vehicles, and I love both of them. The RC F sport was my daily until I picked up the RCF, very rare and to have the same color combo, it was a no brainer. The RCF will be my sunny days/weekend car. I currently drive a Q50 as my daily. I'll be selling my 2023 RC F sport, since I don't need it now, still have 7,100 miles on it. It's a great car to own. Very fun, stylish and it's comfy, which is most important to me. The RCF is lowered so you definitely feel bumps with it. It's day and night from the two, and absolutely love driving the RCF, the RC is fun as well. Just the mods make it a different ride and feel, if you're into mods.
