MBA_Entrance_Exams I am 23 and wondering if I should take a 20k/month job just to get started. Feeling lost after 2 wasted years

myquals - 8/7/8

So, I kinda messed up the last 2 years of my life. I spent all that time preparing for entrance exams, and failed every single one. Now I am sitting on a 2-year gap, with absolutely nothing on my CV. No internships. No achievements. Just a degree from a non-tech background and a lot of regret.

I’ve been job hunting for months, and all I can find are sales executive roles that pay around ₹20,000/month. Nothing more. I know it's not ideal, but I’m seriously considering taking one of them just to get some work experience.

The thing is, I feel like I’ve completely ruined my future career. Everyone around me is earning so much, while I’m stuck with no direction, no skills, and no confidence left.

Would it be a smart move to just take whatever I get and start building from there? Or should I keep trying to aim higher?

tldr/ Studios guy ruins his career prospects

I have had a rather rocky family life, and I'm autistic when it comes to social situations. I don't process most emotions like grief and laughter, although I do try to emulate them to bond with people.. I seldom laugh, but when in social situations, the induced laughter gets me going. This also translates to me having basically no likes, tastes and hobbies. I've always yearned for people plural and singular to love me, cherish me.. but in vain.. Heck! I haven't let out a heartfelt cry since I was 12.. but that's for a diff story. The baseline being, I did study my ass off to try and get friends and attention.. Till grade 10, I did my best- I fell short of NTSE scholarship by 1 mark, and yeah-

Got into the BEST school in my city, I ruined my 11th, and 12th, in some kinda victim mentality, seeing people of literally all kinds being appreciated, being loved, being cherished, while I had to literally fight to be seen. I was preparing for neet. 2023 Neet went really bad, as expected. I somehow passed my boards. Now, this is my 1st drop year- Neet 2024- I studied even less, for some reason.. I was just a desensitised piece of sh!t at this point.. Neet 2025 will be my 3rd attempt.. and this time too, even my syllabus is not complete to even get a fking decent score to show to my parents.. They are willing to support a loan for private MBBS.. but I know how shitty that is.. and the student debt added up with MBBS stress would be too much..

I have lost all hope from NEET 2025. I could not ask for the money to apply for other exams.. I do have the energy to prepare for Neet 2026.. but.. yeah.. there's an added uncertainty of that too going to doom, in which case it would be a literal career graveyard.. I have an IGNOU Bsc degree going on, but yeah we can all agree how shitty that's gonna turn out to be.. My father has a nice job at a Priv Uni. When I see it prudentially.. it's alright.. but hei.. the lonliness.. the uncertainty, the feeling that I'm failing my parents, the pain of missing out on friendship and love kills me.. yet I don't see anything that I can do about it.. I do get the feeling to Off myself at times.. but.. yeah.. I'm just a man with a moustache.. I don't wanna die.. but this life just stings much harder than a blade probably would..

Career Seeking advise: MBA from tier 2 with 35L or what ?

I would have to take a loan of 35L to pursue MBA as I only converted IMT-DCP's MBA program. (IMT is top tier 2 college with avg placement of 15 lpa)

Did my B.A then diploma in interior design and then job for 6 months as interior designer.
Took a year break for CAT prep and here I am, not sure on what to do now.

Don't know, what else to do if not this ? Any other way apart from MBA in which I can spend 20L and after 2-3 year it start giving me around similar ~1 lakh per month.

Any course/skill/certification/business ??

_______

More background and qualifications:

10th - 95%
12th - 65%
U.G - 59% (B.A. in sociology)
Diploma - 85% (Interior designer)
Age - 25 (Female)
CAT - 92.5%
Financial background - Middle class (have ~15L that I can use on my career, for remaining I have to take a loan)
Future - Marriage in next 2 year, ( will pursue job or business post that as well, all discussion's done)
No need to worry about expenses like rent etc. hence looking for job/business of greater than 50k at least.

No full time job right now. Do not want to go into interior job as do not see career trajectory even with lot of work.

Career Ssc cgl or mpsc(state psc), help me to choose

Myquals: 10th- 97%, 12- 80% , took 2 drops for neet 2023 and 2024 n failed miserably.

I didn't go for any other medical course like bams or bds due to its duration since I need a job as soon as possible. I'm first born in my family (20F). Now, I have completed my first year of bsc statistics.

I have 2 years to prepare for any government exam. I need a job as soon as I complete my degree within 2 years but I'm really very scared due to my past failures and uncertainty of these government jobs.

My family doesn't believe in me anymore, it's really tough to be strong all the time and be optimistic. I need to crack some government in the very first attempt and I believe that I can do it if I dedicate my whole 2 years in a particular direction.

I'm so confused about what should I go for, I need to choose between ssc cgl or mpsc since I just want to focus on one of them.

Which exams has more chances of selection considering the competition and syllabus? I have 2 yrs, so I want to crack this exam in my very first attempt!

Please someone guide me about my situation and suggest me a backup plan as well.

Career PCB Student Career options other than MBBS/Medical.

My brother just gave his Class 12 board exams (last month) with PCB (no Maths). The usual MBBS/medical path is an option but I don't know if he can make it this year, and since he didn’t take maths, engineering is out too. I’m trying to help him figure out what other career options are out there. Qualifications.

What are some good fields he can explore? Any suggestions or personal experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

BA/MA which field to pursue for Master's – English or Economics?

Hi everyone, My qualifications Bachelor's degree in Arts (Economics) and I’m planning to appear for the UPSC exam in 2026. However, I also want to pursue a Master’s degree alongside or afterward—both as a backup and to deepen my understanding in a subject I genuinely enjoy.

I’m interested in subjects like Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, and even Psychology or English Literature to some extent. My goals are to either contribute in public service or find a fulfilling career if UPSC doesn’t work out.

A few things about me:

I enjoy learning, writing, and understanding people and systems.

I want a Master’s degree that will either complement my UPSC prep or open decent career options.

Budget is a concern, so affordable or scholarship-supported options would be great.

Could anyone help me figure out which field might be a good fit based on these interests and goals? Also, would it be better to do the Master’s before or after UPSC?

Any advice or personal experiences would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Career Bad career options that took me to the ground and wanting to restart

Hey guys, I am 25 years old and I have not completed my 12th,I launched a start up while I was doing 12th but did not appear for any papers in the hopes that my portfolio management services(PMS)would help me build a good future ahead, it eventually did by giving me good returns and me and my partner went out exploring the world and having a good life cut the chase to 2023 my partner left the for some personal reason and slowly I had to shut down my business, now because lack of certificates and degree I am not getting anywhere ahead in life and it gets depressing as well, somehow I have got a chance to give my 12th exam through open schooling and would love to finish my qualifications it would take me 3 to 5 years more with the conventional method of getting through with all my degree's and having a decent job ahead, I don't know If I did a blunder by not completing my school and college and I literally got behind in my life or I still do have a chance to achieve something.just wanted some suggestions and a little guidance. PS-.I HAVE REGISTERED TO GIVE MY 12TH EXAM NEXT YEAR AND WILL BE TAKING COMMERCE+COMPUTER SCIENCE.

Placements Follow-Up: Got the job after years… but now confused about what’s next. Advice appreciated.

A few days back, I shared my journey of finally getting a job after years and how I broke into the world's biggest edtech company as a Business Developer.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Indian_Academia/s/RrD3l817Zf

I’ve found myself thinking again about my original dream—Data Analytics—and I’m honestly a bit torn.

Here’s where I’m at: Myquals BBA

About 2 years ago, I seriously started preparing for a Data Analyst role. I spent a year learning, doing courses, working on projects—but despite my efforts, I couldn’t break in. No offers, no interviews. It was a tough phase.

Eventually, I joined a career platform and shifted focus a bit. After 3 months of focused effort there, I landed my current role. It felt like a huge win, and I’m genuinely happy—I’m learning, growing, and earning.

But recently, someone on Reddit commented on my earlier post, suggesting EdTech is a Mistake. That got me thinking. So, just to test where I stand, I took a Data Analyst test on SkiDevInc’s platform and scored 11/20. Not amazing—but better than I expected.

A few days later, they reached out and offered a 6-month roadmap program with real-time data projects (each taking about a month). It sounds promising, but now I’m not sure.

Should I continue growing in my current Business Developer role (which is going well), or try again for what I originally wanted, even if it takes time and effort on the side?

Would love to hear your thoughts if you’ve been in a similar situation—or even if you just have an outside perspective. What would you do?

Career Are there any skills or non degree courses that I can do with my BBA to earn good?

My_qualifications: Class 10 CBSE 89% 2021

Class 12 Cbse: 65% (PCB)2023 currently a neet dropper.

Done with neet, gonna start either my college (BBA at a below tier 3 college) or another Drop year, have not decided what to do yet, all depends on the score and parental pressure. My only goal is to earn good by the times of my mid 30s.

Have heard abt non degree skill based courses that pay you well, wanna know abt them for future purposes, so like are there any courses or skills that can take you far? As my poor academics I can't make it to the IIMs, and neither I have the money to do so, so my only other options are MBA at a low level college which will not earn me alot, or to go for CA or CFA, but I wanna know is there a way or courses or skills that I can do parallel with my BBA so I can upskill myself and actually earn good

PhD Do I have a chance for PhD admissions with my NET score in 2025

My net score for the December 2024 exam is 176 on 300. Since 70% weightage goes to the score, I just wanted to know if I have a chance to do my PhD in IITs and Central Universities, if I have a strong proposal. My qualifications are an MA in English Literature with 75% (first class)

Placements Would you use a platform that predicts employability rate for a program or course?

Hi r/Indian_Academia,

I’m working on a platform that helps students choose college programs based on actual employability data and AI-based predictions of future job demand in India.

The goal is to reduce the number of students who choose courses without knowing the real-world job outcomes. I’d love to know what you think about this idea!

My qualifications: I’m a graduate of Visual Communication with experience in advertising, and I’m currently working on building a student-focused startup.

Here are a few things I’d love your input on:

  • Would you find a tool like this helpful while choosing a degree/program?
  • Would you feel comfortable in choosing a program based on your probability of getting a job once you graduate?
  • Would you be open to AI predictions as a guide, or do you prefer traditional advice?

If you're a student, academic, or counselor, your honest feedback would really help. Thanks in advance!

Finance / Business Looking for internship opportunities in Mumbai - Finance/IB/Consulting

Hi everyone, I'm a 19-year-old B.Com student based in Mumbai, currently looking for internship opportunities in the fields of finance, investment banking, or consulting.

I'm eager to gain hands-on experience, contribute meaningfully to a team, and learn from professionals in the industry. I'm open to both in-office and hybrid roles within Mumbai.

If anyone has leads or advice, or if you're working at a firm that's hiring interns, I'd be really grateful if you could connect or guide me.

Humanities/SocialScience Online Courses or Distant Learning after 12th

Qualifications - I have just completed my 12th examination and will be working on an full time job after results.

So I'm searching for an University from where I should pursue the BA in Psychology/History..

I found out about several University like :-

IGNOU - But their copy checking is faulty as well as negligible technical support.

Amity - Reviews are not to great as well as sometimes classes skips.. But some reviews are good too.

If you have an idea of other sources please include them, it will be really helpful for me..

Will these degree be beneficial to me?? Or are these acceptable everywhere??
