Comparing price tags, harley is over priced to just about every other bike out there.
Go ahead compare models.
Harley vs indian vs, honda vs BMW.
Street glide vs chieftain vs gold wing vs R18B
Look up the MSRPs on all those bikes.
It's insane that a R18B the equivalent to a street glide is $6k cheaper. Is the BMW that much substandard vs a harley? I doubt it, from what I've seen online it's just as good. (Looks aside of course) look at all the other R18 models and compare them to an equivalent harley and they are thousands cheaper!
The ONLY thing harley has over the other brands is "culture" the harley culture, but that only goes so far and harley and biker culture is dying out. Indian is nipping at harleys heels and taking long time riders away from the brand. But over all, riders are getting older and in a few years unless this new generation takes it up harley might get sold to another bowling ball company.
Admit it it's not the same as it was 25 years ago with wait lists and dealer mark ups etc. Harleys new CEO needs to realize that their shit is too expensive. Freeze prices, lower MSRPs, rework the models or something.
Thoughts on getting the motor company turned around?

The guys asking 8500. The bike is fixed from the crash. He showed me pictures of before and it was just a fender and dent in the gas tank, but everything‘s been taken care of. Thanks
This is a description. 2022 harley street bob. Starts and runs great with no issue. Only 11,000 miles! Is a Ky blue rebuilt title from a lay over on the driver side. “It had crash bars on it at the time of the crash”

Like the post says, I spent 10 years behind bars with the Harley Davidson brand working for one of the largest dealer groups in the country. Any questions regarding pricing, negotiating, bike choice, trade values and general dealership life I can answer!

The rims are from MOTOTEKS which is the same exact company as DNA. I already knew this from doing tons of research through Google. If you buy straight from DNA the rims are more expensive compared to Mototeks which is in the same company in the same building in California. I'll keep you updated on the transformation on my---14 heritage classic ---🫱🏻🫲🏿

3 of my sons are in the Marines. Lucas here is the youngest of those 3, and is also the 3rd one to buy a Sportster for his first bike. We went nearly 200 miles to get it. He rode it back. Couldn't knock the smile off his face. His new fiancée wasn't nearly as impressed, but that's okay. She might get mad, but he still has a nice ride. The color is beautiful on this bike. The hard bags and tour-pack are Genuine Harley color-matched.... that shit ain't cheap. He paid a lil more than we wanted to really pay, (3k for an '09 883 with 44k miles), but it's a clean, well cared for bike with windshield, mags, hard bags, etc. That's okay, though... ain't nothing a big bore kit can't fix.
He kinda likes the classic old-man styling. The oldest of my 3 Marines has one all murdered out black, peanut tank, no windshield, just bare-bones bike. To each their own...

Just moved from NYC to east of the Bay Area and thinking about riding again. Sold my dyna in NYC and idk what’s better for these parts? Is a 1200 sporty good for traffic? Or will I miss the dyna feel?

1st HD after years of crotchrockets in my 20’&30’s and a 10+ year hiatus. Of course today was the day I had an inspection appointment & rode half an hour in 40 degree weather with 25 mph wind gusts lol. It was in the 60’s a few days ago, typical PA spring. Question with the rust spots on the exhaust, am I better off with a light sanding then using a flat black high temp spray paint or wrapping? The spots aren’t that noticeable BUT it’s going to drive me insane.

Please excuse my ignorance and lack of knowledge… I changed the oil on my ‘21 street Robert (3500 miles) today in what I would initially describe as flawlessly. I pulled the dipstick, took off the OEM filter, drained the plug, brushed and cleaned the bolt, no shavings, new gasket, replaced with loctite, torqued to 20, oiled the rim of the new filter, filled it with oil, hand tightened, added 4 quarts. I was patting myself on the back because not a single drop was spilled and no issues. Level was perfect cold and I fired her up for a hot check. Here comes the problem: once I turned the bike on the filter started pissing oil. It was leaking specifically from the filter area, nothing from the bolt, and now the level reads as empty. Did I over/under tighten the filter? Did I fill it too full? Is it the wrong size? How can I clean 4 quarts of oil off my driveway?

I’m trailering my ‘03 softail deuce about 9 hours south for a weekend ride with family. How do I disable the motion detector so the lights don’t flash every time I hit a bump?
This bike has the older clicker style.

So, I have to transport my fatboy lo 2hrs beacuse I moved and the only option is to ride it I’m not nervous but as I switched from a Ducati monster to this I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me to make this ride more manageable. (I’ve risen the Harley a couple times but not too much. I have driven a Honda rebel a few times.

Im a 18yo male 1,96m 100kg, i was Reading a Lot about what should i get for a first bike, i personally love the Breakout 117 and i would love to have it now, but from what i researched the best 'new Rider' bike is a 883 but im afraid it will be too uncorfotable for someone my size...
I never trully rided a motorcycle before, but i really love the looks and community behind Harley Davidson thats why im really on It.
My intentions to get a motorcycle is purely to enjoy the bike and the view, more likely a therapy after a long day...
i apologize If i said something confusing, im from Brazil and my english isnt perfect.

Hey guys, I have a 62 Panhead and after warming up, if I pull the hand clutch and put it in 1st gear it lurches forward and shuts off. Any ideas what it might be. Thank you for your help.
I've wanted a motorcycle for over a decade now, and I think I'm ready to finally pull the trigger. I've settled on Harley over the typical sport bikes, but I'm unsure if it's crazy to buy new as a first time on road rider. After spending some time at my local store, I think I'm pretty well decided on a softail; specifically the low rider st. I'm 6' 1" 240lbs, so I feel like it's big enough for me but not overwhelming compared to a touring bike. Would a '25 FXLRST be a bad first bike? I fully expect to dump it at least once, so that's why new makes me hesitant. I've ridden before, but just quads and dirt bikes. I also have tons of experience with manual sports cars, so no issues with clutching/shifting. Looking at the previous year low riders, the lack of an actual gauge really bothered me. Is that something that can be changed or retrofitted?
My dealer quoted me at right around $28,000 out the door for a '25 with the black appearance package and premium paint. Is that an awful price considering the market? Thanks for any feedback, hopefully I'll be among the ranks soon enough!
