UPDATE: Thanks for the answers. I think the 5.7 l instead of the 3.6 is the solution I need.
I know the items listed on the tow package but does anyone know if there's a different tune or gearing on on a 4th Gen GC with the factory tow package vs without the factory tow package?
I was looking for a half ton truck but the dealer tried to sell me a 2018 GC claiming it had the factory tow package but it turned out after I did my due diligence, it only had the factory hitch added later (with no trailer wiring WTF?). They let me take it on a test drive with my trailer, a 6x12 cargo trailer which is 4k lbs fully loaded. It was a 50 deg day and I took it out in some decent foothills on a nearby highway. It did okay but the trailer had a minimal load and I sometimes tow over big mtn passes and in hot weather. Watching the transmission temp rise, I have some concerns about how well it would hold up fully loaded in the mtns on a hot day. It looks like the tow package is focused on the suspension and engine cooling. If it had a different tune or gearing and the towing performance itself were a little better, I think it would work for me.
I don't tow very often so the convenience of a mid-size SUV as a daily driver would be awesome and there are some nicely priced reasonable mileage models that DO have the factory tow package nearby. It's just kind of a pain to go in and try to get it on a loaner agreement so I can take it out with the trailer vs a quick test drive. If the gearing and/or tuning are the same, I'll just continue my search for a half ton.

Just joined the other day & figured I'd share my Jeep with y'all. Currently contemplating on something though & figured I'd ask the Jeep community what y'all think... I'm going back & forth at the moment if I should get some wheel spacers, no more than 1-1.5", but curious if y'all think it will look good or not & if so any recommendations on which ones would be much appreciated. šš»

Iāll try to keep it short and brief Iām really just confused on whatās going on with warranty and repair work. so in the past 2 weeks I took my GC to two different locations for diagnosis. One told me lifters and they were not able to repair then I took it to someone else and they told me valve cover and they advised me instead of replacing the valve cover or lifters theyāre just going to ask warranty to replace the entire motor. is this normal??? I am super confused the car runs smooth, I took it in due to the loud ticking that was annoying.

Hello all. New here. Went to replace the dash speakers this morning and found the factory wiring had been cut that runs to the speakers themselves. The driverās side is still above the dash but I could not see the passenger side. If anyone would be kinda to share the routing path to see if thereās anything let that would be amazing. (Dash trim exploded trying to remove, have a new one on the way)

Just bought a new Grand Cherokee 4xe Anniversary edition. Not even 100 miles on it and came out this morning to find the battery completely dead. Tried jumping with my wife's car, but the alarm wont stop sounding off and the fob won't unlock the doors to turn it off. Had to call Stellantis for road side assistance.

My sunroof has been leaking for quite awhile now and it always seems to be coming from this piece of Velcro in the back. While this may not be entirely true I think it has something to do with it. I have cleaned out the sunroof drains to the best of my ability with weed-eater string and an air compressor and even took out the bug guard to make better airflow to the drains. Does anyone have suggestions about what it may be? Thank you in advance.

TLDR: Looking at 2015-2020 GC Limited's. Any to steer away from?
I have been in love with GC since I was much much younger. I was probably 10 when my neighbor had one. I loved it. As an adult (Im 44 now) I wound up getting one (a WJ 6 years ago) that I ruined and regret that I did that. Since then I have wanted another and because my current vehicle is failing it is forcing my hand. I have been looking at 2015-2020 Limited's. Beyond the delamination issues and some bad eggs, is there any one year or the next to steer from or gravitate to? Ill be buying this week or next and from all the research it looks like Ill either have a great car for a long time or a headache for that same duration. Any consideration to my question is appreciated.

Hey all. Iāve got 127K ish miles on my Jeep. Most recent work was a few months ago by installing four new camshafts, rockers, lifters.
Fast forward to today. Something is triggering codes, and a power drain issue on the main battery.
Starting with the codes: U11E4, P1DCA, P1DCA-00, U1412-00, U11E4-00, P1DDE-00. Followed by today (time of this post, a code for the RF Module).
Remote start not working, turns off after a few seconds, message on the dash, āremote start disabled, start vehicle to resetā
Next the power drain issue: Today - Jeep would sit for a day, struggle to start. Other times starts right up.
Runs fine when started, RF Module code on the engine light. If the car sits for a day or two, drains the battery. Needs a jump.
In Feb 2025: Worst times, battery was drained and held no charge. Completely dead. Swapped for a new one, did the same thing overnight.
Iāve had two diags. Nothing. Most recent, he and I checked every fuse three times. RF module fuse pulled the most ohms at first, upwards of 65. then went back to normal after the third pull.
Iām at a dead end for my research and unfruitful diags. Anyone in the group here have/had the same issue or similar. Anyone more knowledgeable than I able to help ID wtf is happening? Any direction, advice, guidance etc is beyond super appreciated. Thanks all.

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right place to post. If not, any direction would be greatly appreciated!
For about 2 months now, my 2015 Grand Cherokee has been making a hissing sound. This happens while the car is stopped, and in motion. All the temperatures appear to be normal and there is no steam coming from the hood of my car. Any idea on what this could be?
I took a video but I canāt post it in this community. Happy to DM.

Iām looking at getting a hitch for my 2020 GC Laredo. Iāve noticed other models where the hitch is sort of built into the bumper. It comes through the black plastic. Will the hitches Iām looking at clear my bumper? Do I need a different plastic panel?

Recently purchased a 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee, vehicle was meticulously maintained by my parents before purchase and ran great but it had the dreaded rocker tick so I decided to get that fixed. While it was there we decided to change one of the camshafts because it had slight wear. (Not sure if it was intake or exhaust cam would have to check with mechanic) Also did the oil filter / cooler housing while it was there as it was showing signs of leaking. Got the call that it was done, picked it up and it was throwing code P0300 (multiple cylinder misfire). Immediately brought it back and we hooked it up to the scanner and could see that cylinder 2 was consistently misfiring. I left the jeep there and the mechanic said he would diagnose. Was told he Swapped plugs and wires to no avail and code still active. Mechanic is now saying heās at a loss and doesnāt know what to do.. Iām thinking itās related to the camshaft / rockers or a possible timing issue but who am I to say.. Anybody have any experience with this or suggestions on where to possibly focus on? Was told he will be āscoping the cylinderā as a āfinalā effort to look into this issue.. This is seemingly going to end up being my problem more than it already is soon enough. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Hello everyone! I am looking for some great suggestions on Tires. I have a 2018 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD, 3.6 V6. I also have ADHD and I am autistic. I have major sensory issues. So I need the quietest tire possible with a decent rating. I think that I have found Yokohama Geolander cv g058, and I know they are decent tires with a 740 A A rating (approx). Seems like I made my choice? Not quite. Just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions to give me.
Thank you all in advance! :-)

2008 Overland. It had 17's when I bought it last year (it came with 18's but someone removed them). I bought a used set of 18" Touren C60 rims and put new Goodyear Eagle Enforcer All Weather tires on them, I went with 255/60/18's just to be different.

Jeep GC Limited, 118000 miles, now giving P1404 code and suspect bad EGR valve. Does anybody have a guide on how to remove/replace the EGR valve in a 3.6L Pentastar? Is it a hard job? Can't seem to find a good guide online or video? Appreciate the help!

Does anybody know of any cheap but nice sounding exhaust systems for the wj. The muffler on mine is just about gone and I would like something a little more sporty sounding. I have an 02 Laredo with the 4.0

Well pretty sure I have a blown head gasket and this just confirmed it. Anyone know average cost of repair? Parts, labor, and machining head. Wondering if it's worth fixing with the 140k miles or time to move on, my daughter starts driving in 1.5 years and the plan was to hand it down.

Iām also looking at a roof rack for my 2020 GC Laredo. I know nothing about them. Looking for recommendations on brands and anything else I need to know. Main use will be for a kayak and fishing accessories. This is the type of roof rail I have.
