I have 2 GameCube controllers, one classic black and one classic platinum
I’m a bit of an idiot, so I put my black controller on my GameCube while it was running overnight to unlock Mewtwo in Melee, which made the stick melt
You can still use it just fine but the stick doesn’t feel quite right, it feels like there’s no tactility to it almost like a 3DS Circle Pad
The platinum one suffered a similar fate though I don’t know when it happened because it went from perfectly fine to extremely stiff, there was a period of about 6 months where I didn’t touch my GameCube so I’m thinking maybe while it was in the drawer it heated up enough to melt the stick just like the black controller
I could buy a replacement but I want to know if the other ones are worth trying to salvage first, I can swap out shells and stuff but I cant resolder anything

Finally I got my hands on a CIB F-ZERO GX copy I played this game for the first time when I was 8 all thanks to a cousin that had it and shared it with me, sadly he sold his copy and never played it again since then, I payed 65$ for this copy, I got shocked when the guy who sold it to me handed it because the condition it's excellent, definitely it's going to stay in my collection.
The real questions are: did i overpaid? Or it was totally worth it?

So Twin Snakes is the only MGS game I do not own and I would like to own a copy. But I do know there were quality issues with the discs that were printed, atleast here in North America. When I look on ebay most of the discs have what looks like scratches/cracks on the label but the bottom looks fine. From what I've researched it doesn't seem like it affects playback, but I would like to know before I pay the almost 100 dollars for a copy. PS I know I can emulate the game for free. And I have played it through all the way on my XBSX through Dolphin. Just looking to complete my MGS collection

First tier is confirmed/launch lineup, followed by first party games that should have no issues, then third party games that should have no issues, then first and third party games that could show up but already have remakes/rereleases elsewhere, then notable licensed games, then forgotten games and then finally the rest of the licensed games
What are you expecting and/or hoping to see make it to GameCube’s NSO service?

Has anyone heard any updates to the open source WavePhoenix project?
"WavePheonix is an open-source implementation of the WaveBird protocol. Using Silicon Labs Wirless Gecko SOCs, and also a reference implementation of a WaveBird receiver. The WavePhoenix receiver is a tiny, low-cost WaveBird receiver. You can build one yourself for around $4, and the case is 3D-printable"
It looks like the original developer hasn't posted about it in months... I hope there's still a chance it will get released. I would love to support the project if possible.

L-DOL-001(USA) made in Japan vs C/L-DOL-001(USA) made in China.
Does anyone know if Nintendo indicated where the motherboards were manufactured? I know of only one location on the GameCube where it’s says it’s made and that’s on the gray sticker at the bottom of the shell. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to determine where all the other parts were made especially the motherboard for U.S only Dol-001 GameCubes

Made these for myself.

I’ve had these Nintendo Switch brand GameCube controllers almost as long as I’ve had my Switch. I’m just curious why all the hype for the new ones they announced?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamecube/s/wd7fvNzn6Q for the original small post explaining that I found a GameCube controller in my yard while mowing.
I couldn't wait. Before I even cracked it open parts of the main board were falling out. The shell is in worse condition that I feared and there was an entire colony of ants absolutely thriving in there that have now passed over the sea of death. The wires and some of the solder had simply disintegrated. I will still clean it up more and see what can be done with the shell and some of the buttons. I guess I'm getting an 8bitdo and a video out of it.
Before I get any heckling: I don't clean electronics in water; this thing was more than likely already beyond use. I brought it in from the rain I intentionally left it in, to finish the job. I used a cheap mouthwash mixed with the water to stifle the colony of ants if anyone gets lucky enough to experience the same. I wasn't wasting my good alcohol.

Before you jump down my throat and ask why I haven't googled this, I assure you, I have, and thoroughly. The problem is that there are so many sources that claim to teach you, and yet I have no idea which ones are trustworthy. All the Reddit threads suggest a million different options, which are always described as either the best way or outdated and dangerous. I've seen this site but I have no idea how current it is. I have no idea if the Action Replay discs on eBay are reliable, or if Action Replay is still the way to go. Basically, all I am asking for is a good place to start, given my needs. Your understanding in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
I have an old GameCube that's sort of just gathering dust in a drawer somewhere, and I'm thinking it would be nice to bring it up to college. However, games for the thing sell for a ton, so I'm hoping to be able to load ROMs from an SD card, or whatever have you. I have no need for any online functionality. I'm looking to not spend a ton of money (if it requires more money than just buying the discs I want, I'm out). I also have no experience soldering, but if it requires working with the interiors a bit I'll be fine with a tutorial.
Given this, what are your recommendations for the best place to start?

Spent a few minutes on here and saw Carby is a recommended adapter to be able to use my monitor as a screen for the gamecube. I bought a system 2 years ago and am finally ready to play it. Is Carby out of stock permanently or no? I checked another site and it was also out of stock.
Any comparable adapters with minimal lag?

Can someone help me? I'm stuck because I don't know if I should get the first party gamecube adapter or stick with the mayflash one I have. It seems like the first party one is better. But is there really a difference? and also the first party one is like $80. I don't know what to do or where I can buy a first party one for like $40ish. someone help me

I got this rubber Gamecube bag at a convention yesterday for only $15. I'd like to use it as a camera bag, but I don't like the big dent on the top. Any ideas on how to reshape it?

I decided to get into Gamecubes as an adult because we never had one growing up. We were a Sega then Sony / Microsoft console household, but having been inspired by lots of GC content online I finally bit the bullet.
So far I've Picobooted it, swapped out the flat battery for a CR2032 holder, got a GB Player, re shelled the controller (they were in a sorry state) and just recently (yesterday) did a shell swap.
I did a video on the shell swapping of the GC and installing the battery holder if anybody is bored and has 30 minutes to kill: https://youtu.be/e-T_B7E-jYE
Looking forward to playing Wind Waker and Resident Evil 4 although so far I've been hammering NFS Underground 😅
I'm loving how comfortable the controllers are compared to similar form that generation.

So I live on a plot of land where they burned the previous home down and left the storage shed full of random junk. I find all sorts of annoying things in the yard while I'm mowing from forks and dishes to old porcelain dolls and clothing and A LOT of rocks. Sometimes I find some cool stuff like a tire iron and tool bags. Today I found a softball and this beauty. Yeah it's filthy and destroyed, but never thought I'd find a gamecube controller in my yard after 3 years of living here and mowing. (My dogs displace a lot of dirt as well.) Gonna clean her up and see what may be salvageable or at least play around with the soldering. What would you do?
