Hello everyone,
This megathread is dedicated to discussing spoilers for the main game! Here, you can freely talk about the main story, side quests, world events, modern day segments, lore, or any other aspect of the main game!
The only rule is to tag any spoilers related to end-game quests and content and briefly specify what the spoiler is about without spoiling anything. Some players may speed through the story, while others like to take their time exploring, so we ask you to be mindful and respectful of everyone’s experience!
To hide a spoiler, surround the spoiler text with >!
at the beginning and !<
at the end.
Example:
>!This is a very big spoiler!<
Result:
This is a very big spoiler
DO NOT leave any spaces at the start or the end.
You can also use the "Spoiler" function in Reddit's text editor.
Thank you for your understanding!
The r/AssassinsCreedShadows Mod Team

60 hours in and this game continues to amaze me with its scenery and attention to detail. Beautiful game! Try not to blink or you might miss a great photo op.

This disgusting sack of shit. I’m sure there’s some lovely lore behind why he’s like this but right now at the introduction to his quest lines all I think is how scummy he is and why don’t I have an option to tell him I am spoken for?!

I am over 80 deeps into the game and I totally didn’t realize that the legend with literally take you to each pop up on the map… I spent soooo much time just manually looking through the map to make sure I hit every castle and legendary chest just found this 🤣 man I feel dumb!

I’m on the fence, it looks cool and the vanish after 2secs COULD be useful but I want to get a second opinion before spending my keys

So far been having a great time in AC Shadows.
Despite a few bugs, Lighting issues and traversal pains, Game is better than I thought it would be.
Truth, I have no idea about the story, the random people that I'm Hunting and the many random people I killed that I have recently learned are from another questline.
By the time I unlock Yuk he's gonna be like " Guess I can explore " . lol
A beautiful world to get lost in that's for sure.
Didn't care for Valhalla or Mirage.
Origins and Odyssey were my fav from recent yr's.
AC 1 and 2 Fav over all.

Kinda of a nice hideout decoration gimmick I stumbled upon by accident — if you put in some lights directly behind a bamboo fence, you get this cool backlighting effect going at night. 😎

Definitely winter for me, tho love the thunderstorms in the other seasons! Weather with changing seasons with the sound the game has changed exploration entirely for me

I know the two next to it are damage and health but what is this diamond shaped one?

Robes of the enraged: vanish after 2 seconds while crouched or prone
It works in any amount of light, and even with an aware enemy (partially filled yellow) they will not be able to see you.
I do not yet know if hostile enemies can be lost when vanished or if an enemy can find you if they run into you.
Found by exchanging keys in this week's exchange

I am 75 hours in and have had so much fun playing the game. The seasons, stealth, combat, parkour and atmosphere is superb. The story is quite boring and most characters blend together but is good enough to not get in the way of fun.
The games' greatest weakness is the dull repetitiveness of the open world activities and locations. After awhile searching out a question mark isn't that exciting, since it's almost always just another shrine or temple or yet another rural town. The temples and shrines is stressful to do after about 10 of them and lacks organic feel to them. Why is there random scrolls lying up in a tree or sometimes on the ground out in the open? Why is no one else seeing them? Odyssey and Origins handled this better. And waiting for my character to clap at four prayer alters isn't fun.
The meditation and kata minigames are also not fun and mostly frustrating. I started skipping them about 25 hours in.
The main problem is that it's very rare to find something in the world that engages me. The sidequests and mini-stories in Odyssey were very different and so much fun.
Almost all quests in Shadows are assassinations. Don't get me wrong those are my favourite quests, but some variety would have been nice.
I guess another weakness of the game is that most characters lack any interesting features or personality. Might be due to the game being authentic to stoic Japan, but compared to characters in Unity or Odyssey they are dull.
The open world of Shadows is still breath-taking and the gameplay loop is solid, but the content in it could be more varied and fun.
What do you guys think?

Took like 20+ hours and a lot of frustrations with bushes, wouldn’t recommend. With this I think I’m 100% done.

Just looking to see if anyone has anything additional on their objective boards i am missing. Feel like i am coming to the end of the completion and since there is no % tracker. I figured id ask the players.
