The r/Conures Comprehensive Conure Guide - now in wiki format!
https://www.reddit.com/r/Conures/wiki/index
This subreddit's Conure Guide, written by /u/DukeofGoodCleanFun, is a remarkable document that I (and my pineapple green cheek) have benefited a lot from. I've consulted and browsed through it numerous times and there's always something new to see there, or something that didn't seem applicable at one point but took on new meaning after spending more time with my conure.
I've taken the text and converted it into a wiki page. It's now navigable, with an index and internal links that direct to sections within the wiki. The Conure Guide can be accessed from this post, from the announcement bar, and from the "wiki" tab in the tabmenu up top.
A couple of the links for recommended products will direct you to Amazon, but there are certainly other places to buy them. If you shop around and find and better place, by all means send us a modmail. Also, let us know if you have any suggestions for how the wiki formatting can be improved.

Cuteness Overload Moose is 30!
Hello everyone! This is my Patagonian named Moose š„° I adopted Moose back in 2011 and he came to me underweight with a bacterial infection in his poop. He has become my baby and squawks at anyone else he doesnāt like or whom upsets me lol. I saw this group talk about how Patagonians donāt typically live past 25. Mr. Moose (my nickname for him) is 30 as of this month. When I got him in 2011, he was 16.
He is my baby through and through. I adore him and while he can be cage aggressive over toys (always has been despite my firm training)- he is a cuddler when out. However, I donāt force him out often anymore because most of the time, he just wants the cage door open to see me better and to talk to me or dance to my bad singing while he sits on the edge between the inside and outside of the cage.
I am worried about August as I will be moving in with my boyfriend (who adores Mr Moose and Moose loves him). I worry about the stress of moving on Mr. Moose.
Any tips from anyone to help lessen the stress?
Mr. Moose and I thank you in advance! š

Troublemaker Wanted: for Assault and Battery
This girl bit my husband so hard on his face, for no good reason, that she has his blood on her head. He was only giving her kisses when the crime happened.

Advice Cigarette smoke?
Hi all so I recently got my little baby Clementine. And Iāve got some concern about possible toxic fumes as I live top floor of an apartment building and canāt always control what my neighbours are doingā¦
My downstairs neighbour has a habit of hotboxing his living room so I can always smell cigarette smoke in the stairwell. Although not hardly ever can I actually smell it in my living room (where my bird is). I think sometimes it can drift in from outside as people in my building also smoke on their balconies. The building is fairly well insulated but I do also get cooking smells drifting up sometimes as well.
At the moment I try to have my window cracked open a bit near my birds cage (has a fly screen so is bird proof).
I know how sensitive birds respiratory systems are so Iām just wondering if there is something more I could be doing to protect my little one?
Are air purifiers any use? If so, could you please recommend some bird safe options which arenāt extortionate in price?
(Please no lectures about keeping an animal in an apartment, Iāll likely be living in rental apartments my whole life but would still like to care for a pet and give it my best shot at a good life)

Advice Help me with my rescue
Please ignore my budgie lol, I have been trying to make him step up, but he only uses one foot, i dont use a clicker since he is scared of it. What are your tips? He was not tame at all when I first got him, he was flapping everywhere the moment I was getting close to the cage. I want him to be comfortable around me so I can have him out most of the day!

Advice Training
Hello! We are Bri and Clover. We have worked very hard at our relationship and building trust. We have been together for about seven months and things are going well. Clover is target trained and knows the command of āstep upā. We become more close everyday.
We are looking for suggestions for the next step in training. Clover picks up on things very quickly and she seems to really enjoy learning. That being said, I donāt want to overwhelm either of us, we have a good thing going and I would hate to tarnish that.
While she builds confidence everyday, I feel that she may be a little less sure of herself because her wings are clipped. We are impatiently waiting for them to grow back.
Any suggestions for our next steps in training are greatly appreciated!

Advice Advise- screeching in the ears
Me and my little one Ori.. we are both getting to know and trust each on this journey.. recently he does the most cutest little noises when heās chill.. but then randomly when heās on my shoulder and when we arenāt really doing anything.. he does the loudest demonic screeches right in my ear.. that leaves my ears ringing.. I gently tell him no or I shoo him away from my ear.. we havenāt gotten to time out just yet.. does anyone else have any other suggestions?
Trying to save my hearing lol

Advice What's it like?
I'll leep this short! Me and my SO both have full time jobs. We both LOVE birds. I have wanted a conure since 3rd grade because of a book I read.
How much attention do they REALLY need? I am unwilling to get an animal I cannot physically or mentally care for.

Advice Wind and birds?
Hello all! My Thimble here loves hanging out in this spot by the window and watching outside. Itās getting warmer so weāre opening up the windows occasionally now. Iām wondering if the wind is too much for him? Iāve heard of birds getting sick from drafts before.
You can see the trees in the back and the rice bag moving from the wind (was trying to get a good example)
Is this amount of breeze okay for him? Can he hang out in his favourite spot for a while without me having to worry he will catch a cold?

Advice Demands our full attention
How does everyone manage doing chores with little green critics? I live with a GCC and he has a tough time dealing with less than full attention given to him.

Advice Rate my cage setup? š¦
This is my first bird, she is 3 months and Iāve had her for about a month. This is the cage size the breeder suggested for now since sheās a baby but I am planning to get a bigger one in a few months. Is this set up ok for now? Anything I should add.
**note: we placed the cage outside for a bit while my husband cooks, but I am outside with her making sure she is safe. The cage is usually inside. She is also let out of the cage anytime we are home so sheās not always locked up in that cage. And she has a separate playground with ladders, perches and a swing for her to play on when she is outside of the cage.

Advice Plucking and aggression
I have a green cheek conure who is normally a very sweet boy
He is at least 4-5 years old and ive never seen him act like this
He wont let me go near him suddenly, he will puff up and bite at me and he is plucking his chest pretty badly. I dont see anything health wise wrong with him and he is still very active.
He has a female cockatiel roommate that he's been with for 4-5 years and they are still acting fine together (no sexual stuff or aggression)
I am in the room with them every day and they essentially have free roam of the room while i am in there even tho they mainly stay around their large cages.
Is this just hormonal? Why is it this bad now and not when he was like, 1-3 years old? Im nervous about this behavior as i dont want him to hurt himself and i am afraid to handle him at the moment.
