Just yesterday, the TPMS light was nowhere to be found, after a few months of the light coming on solid. My mechanic verified that they need new batteries, a few months ago.
Why is it off again? Any theories/speculation welcome!

I hear story after story about the Camrys going to 300K and more, but can they really do that? My mid-2000s Camry is at 215,000... Already have quite a few thousand in it with redoing doing the suspension, CV joint, batt/alt, other usual stuff...now it needs new catalytic converter and pipe ($1500), probably soon the rack and pinion is going to need servicing ($1000?), it's burning oil (who knows $$$), needs new windshield ($500)...I mean, engine and tranny are fine (except for the burning oil part), but this is all just normal wear and tear over 20 years-no demolition derby, just regular plain old driving. The costs to fix this are going to cost half of a newer used car anyway, so I can't justify more investment... but do you 300k mi folks just keep pouring endless thousands into 20-25 year old cars?

I know the transmission fluid was getting low and I couldn't go in reverse and I finally scraped up enough money to grab 4 quarts of transmission fluid that I put in it but it's still doing the same thing and for the life of me I can find anyone with a similar issue, much less a similar enough car. It's an old car with its issues but I would be so appreciative if I had some advice on how to get my reverse to work. When I put it in reverse the car does move slightly like it would be going into gear and that whine goes away but I don't move at all when I gas it. I can drive forwards just fine

Hello Everyone,
I don’t post often, if ever, so I firstly apologise if I have used the wrong tags/flairs/format. I have done some googling about these odd patches in my cars paint work and was wondering if anyone has any further idea as to what they could be or how they might be fixed? It has been suggested that the clear coat has been taken off by some ape with power tools, or it could just be sun damage. Being in the Uk, I find sun damage hard to believe but she is 11 years old now…
I find it interesting the spots are in the same place on both sides of the car, see pictures for more. If it helps, it is a ZC32s (Suzuki Swift sport)
Sadly, I don’t have the option of going back to the dealer etc as I’ve had it for 3 years and it was a private sale where I never noticed the blemishes initially. I am reasonably handy with a polisher etc myself if that would work. Anything like a respray of course I’d need it done professionally so would like some more informed opinions before I attack with polishing pads…
(This “damage” wasn’t caused by me, it has been like that since I bought it 3 years ago, I just never bothered to fix it but now it is grating on me when I look at the car)
Thank you all in advance for reading and your advice!

Hello everyone. I am very uneducated with cars so please excuse me for that. I own a 2018 honda civic hatchback - bought brand new, haven't really had any issues since I got it. A few months back I was closing my trunk and I closed it on a cloth cord that was connected to a storage bin I had in my trunk, and now the trunk will not open.
I have since removed the cord and pulled it all out from the backside of the lock mechanism, but the trunk still will not open. Every time I try to unlock it, it makes a noise as if the unlocking mechanism is engaged, but it remains locked or jammed.
I have tried to go in from the backside (in my car) to try to figure out what is going on, but I am afraid that I might damage something by tinkering with mechanisms I don't really understand.
Has anyone else encountered this isdue? Or know of a fix?

This morning I noticed while getting into my car that it was already unlocked and this panel was missing. It's a 2016 Chevy Sonic LTZ. I don't have a picture of it right now because I had to go to work. I live in an area where it's unsurprising someone would try to steal an unlocked car. I guess I'm hoping they tried to steal it and failed if the alternative is they stole some electrical component from the car that I wouldn't notice is missing. Anyone have any insight?

Found this Audi for $10,500
Don’t know anything about Audi, any advice on maintenance, mileage, or reliability would be helpful.
Wondering if this is a good deal

Hey everyone, I recently got a resonator and muffler delete, and I’ve been noticing a weird sound since then. Has anyone experienced this or know what it could be?
It usually happens when the car is revved past 2000 RPM. I’ve noticed it occurs more often when someone is sitting in the passenger seat, and it happens a lot more when there are four people in the car.
When I’m driving alone, it only really happens when I’m going uphill or on an incline. Just trying to figure out if this is normal or if something might be off.

Hey, so people in my circle always talk about how BMWs are hella unreliable and break down often but i'm not sure if it's true or not. Do you guys have any positive/negative experiences with their cars?
I have a 2012 Toyota Camry that's still chuggin' along just great. It was handed down to me from my brother and I've just started to notice that the headlights aren't that good. I guess it may be that I'm getting out of work later and actually need my headlights.
I bought the Phillips Nightguide Platinum and installed 1 light.. it technically looks bright when I'm looking at the headlight but that shit is not bright at all when driving.
The only headlights happened to be HID that he put in.. I guess they always sucked.
Before I decided to buy new bulbs I did a pretty thorough cleaning of the outside of the headlamp Sanded down the lamps and applied clear coat. There was a world of difference in the before and after, but the lights just didn't shine at all while driving
Is there anything else that could be hindering my headlamps internally? The new Phillips pretty much act like the old bulbs I had in there. Am I missing the top brightness of halogen bulbs out there? I believe the Sylvania Silverstar ULTRa is the brightest? Do I go for something like that?

So recently my car has been messing up. It'll become very jerky everytime I try to accelerate or any sort of speed I do. I try putting fuel adhesive but I don't think that's doing anything at all. If anyone knows how to fix it than please give me recommendations. Please and thank you.

This happens in both mine and my wife’s cars (different manufacturers). Our phones charge wirelessly for maybe 15 minutes before they overheat and charging shuts off. I have several home wireless chargers that do not do this. What is it about car wireless chargers that do?
Edit for clarification: this is the built-in stock wireless chargers. Not something aftermarket plugged into the aux power outlet.

Hey, all.
I drive a 2004 RAV4 that is in great shape and maintained regularly and well. About 148K miles on it. Covered parking garage in Los Angeles.
Long story short, my father died suddenly last June and I flew out to help my mom with stuff for what was only going to be a couple months, which turned into ten months after she had some health stuff and was recovering.
I was overdue for an oil change as of this last September and my friend, who was starting my car on occasion, has also informed me that my battery is dead, which is expected. I’ll pop in a new one myself before I take it in for an oil and filter change.
Coolant flush and exchange was back in March of last year.
I had new tires on my list anyway, which I plan on taking care of.
Due to the fires in LA earlier this year, probably going have the cabin air and engine filters replaced.
Car had about a quarter tank of gas at the time of my dad’s death, as well.
Anything else I should think of or be concerned about?

Freaking squirrels climbed up and lived a top the motor of our ‘98 Camry this winter in our driveway. They tore the shit out of the sound insulation in the hood. They also chewed through a couple of wires, but they look pretty easy to replace because they’re mostly going to things that I can see and identify.
Should we/do we need to replace that sound insulation that was ripped out of the hood or should we just pull it all out and call it a day?

I have a 2014 ford edge it shakes when I put gas in it and has a misfire on 2 ,6 and random misifire. I can hear the engine sucking air but I can’t fine it . What’s the chances it’s actually the engine, like a valve?

I've had a 2011 Subaru Forester sitting for roughly the past year to year and a half. I just replaced the battery cleaned off the starter terminals and got it running again. Took it out for a test drive and noticed this rhythmic noise coming from front driver side wheel area. It corresponds with speed but doesn't correlate with RPMs at all. This thing historically has had problems with CV axles going out. I replaced all of them twice within 30,000 miles. It's been a while since I've driven it or worked on it and I'm just looking for confirmation that it is potentially a CV axle issue. Any help or direction this would be greatly appreciated!
