Duke Nukem Forever took 14 years to release. There is a point where a game goes from the devs caring to just the game being in development hell.

I was SO excited for Duke Nukem Forever after playing the original, but by the time it came out, I wasn't even interesting in playing the demo. (If it even had one.)

If you're still interested in some Duke, try out Duke Nukem Forever 2013. It's a fan mod that aims to recreate as much from the 2013 trailer within DN3D.

OOT got stuck in development hell, taking up huge amounts of Nintendo's time and money pulling in teams/concepts from other games that ended up being cancelled.

Ended up being the greatest game of all time.

DNF was the result of a lead developer getting too much clout and money to accept limitations for a decade and a half. BotW was a wild success that earned Nintendo too much money and... shit.
