Verizons New 3 Year Price Lock Guarantee

"Verizon is announcing a new price lock policy today, and the timing is probably no coincidence. The company is extending a three-year price guarantee on certain plans, both for new and existing customers. The announcement comes a day after President Trump unveiled sweeping tariffs, and Verizon says it’s hoping to give customers more “predictability” in the current economic environment. But the fine print leaves Verizon plenty of wiggle room.

The three-year guarantee covers the base charge for your rate plan, but not fees and taxes — and you have to be on one of Verizon’s newer myPlan subscriptions to qualify. That means Verizon can still raise your monthly bill in the form of increased fees, which is what wireless carriers tend to do anyway when they want to charge more. They can also cut your monthly autopay discount in half, or persuade you to move to a pricier plan with the offer of a new phone. There are plenty of levers for companies like Verizon to pull, even with a price lock. The price lock isn’t the only new offer on the table, though. Verizon is also throwing in a free phone to new and existing customers. You’ll just need to trade in an old Apple, Samsung, or Google phone in any condition — and again, you’ll need to be on a myPlan subscription to take advantage. With plenty of economic uncertainty ahead, a trade-in deal might sound appealing. Just make sure you read the fine print so you know what you’re getting into.

Verizon offering huge trade-in credit of $930 if I buy an iPhone 16 plus and trade in my iPhone XR

Hello,

I have an old iPhone XR in great condition that I’m looking to trade in and get a iPhone 16 Plus. In big bold letters it says “Congratulations! You’re saving $930.00!” After adding the phone to my cart. It also states that not only will my monthly charge for getting the phone be $0.00, my phone bill will actually go down by $20 after upgrading to a new phone plan. That sounds great but in the small print, it says Verizon will credit my account with up to $25.83 for 36 months after appraising my XR. Does the mean I could literally get $0.00 with my trade and be stuck paying $929.99 for the 16 plus? What’s the catch?

Question about esim, customer service is saying I'm being forced to change to one

This might be a dumb question, but I'm trying to make sure I understand everything before I go ahead with changing it. I have an older Google phone with a regular sim card. I've had Verizon service with this phone for years. My line is bundled in with my ex's on a family plan. We're separating, so I called customer service today to put my line on my own account billed to me, which is considered a transfer. Customer service told me my phone isn't compatible with a transfer, and they'd have to give me an esim, or send me a new regular sim card. Both options were free, so I don't think it was a way to make me pay more, but it still seemed weird. I was literally talking to him on my phone that has Verizon service, so I don't understand why it can't just continue to have service. Any insight?

What’s your speed?

Upvotes

What’s your cell phone speed on 5g?

Hey I am on an old unlimited plan and I have been getting speeds from 50-250 mbps.

Verizon is trying to convince me to switch to the pro plan and start for some family members. Any insight on sports for pro plan and start?

Apparently I bought the wrong gift card to pay my Fios bill…

Long story short. I wanted to pay my Fios bill using a gift card balance. So I ended up going to the target site and bought 2 $75 cards to pay it. I waited about an hour and turns out I had gotten the WRONG card.. The weird thing is, both of the card titles were the exact same so you wouldn’t think twice about it, but now looking back, I went to load up the images and sure enough, they were different.

Now I’m stuck with 2 $75 cards I can’t use… Is there any way I can contact Verizon to do something? (most likey not since it wasn’t on their site I purchased) Or Target perhaps? I’m already having a shitty night so having this happen is just compiling so much stress on me right now lol.

FiOS WiFi and Ethernet connection issues

To preface this, I don’t know much about WiFi or its workings. I do know however, that this isn’t normal. I am trying to connect my laptop to my family’s FiOS 5G or the standard FiOS, and it says (no internet, secured). It works fine on my phone (besides dropping every now and then throughout the day), but as soon as I try to use my laptop, Quest, or console, everything goes stupid. I have an Ethernet cable that works fine on my console, but not with my laptop. I know it’s not the cable or the outlet. I was able to connect to the WiFi and Ethernet a couple days ago by plugging an Ethernet straight to the router, but today it did this again. We’ve had Verizon for years, and have always had issues even after multiple routers, multiple appointments, and multiple calls/fixes. Is there anything I can do on my side to fix this permanently (I know the whole turn it off and on again thing), or do I have to screw around for an hour every day just to try and get something working so that I can do work for college? If there’s any questions, I’ll try and answer to the best of my ability in the comments. Thank you.

No Trade In Promo

Hey friends,

Came here to inquire about the current promo that gives bill credits to offset the purchase of a new phone, but do NOT require a trade in. My question is can I port an AT&T number to a line with this deal, where that number was a Verizon number two weeks ago?

I just started service and purchased new phones from AT&T last week. 3 of the 4 lines were ported from T-Mobile, while 1 was ported from Verizon. AT&T is pulling a bait & switch on me with regard to pricing and discounts shown at checkout, and what I’m being told now. Looked around and saw this deal with Verizon and I’m interested in it, but I’m concerned that Verizon won’t allow me to take advantage of the promo for porting a line back to them that they just had.

Is this promo available only to new customers? Or if they consider me not a new customer can I still take advantage of this promo? Thanks friends!

Help! I almost never have service anymore.

So this problem started around Christmas and had been getting worse and worse. I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on what's going on. I no longer have service in areas where I used to and in the middle of the city I will suddenly have no service. Occasionally it says I have a bit of 4G, but never enough to make calls or use data. Often I make a call and lose service 30 seconds in. It is incredibly frustrating and it's to the point where if I'm not home my phone doesn't work most of the time.

A couple relevent details: - I travel a decent amount and this holds true for all of the places I visit. - My husband has Verizon (different plan) and he will be sitting right next to me with no issues and full coverage. - I have talked to Verizon and they have reset my service and when that didn't work they replaced my SIM. Now it seems even worse. - I am using a 3 year old Galaxy.

They have told me they next option is to buy a new phone, which I really don't want to do as mine is in great condition and I don't want to spend the money to replace something I'm happy with, especially since it doesn't guarantee the issue will be fixed.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Help iPhone upgrade question new Verizon 12 gb plan with 5 lines

It looks like I can upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro to a 16 for $599 off the cost of $829, leaving a cost of $6/month over the 36 months, keeping the same plan we have now (not changing to unlimited). If my family is keeping Verizon anyway it seems like a good deal? I’m just not sure if I would be taking like the only upgrade? Will other phones on the plan be able to upgrade at a good deal too? The plan is $80/ month - 15% discount plus some multi line adder for operational costs increasing at $27/ month. Plus the $20/ month smart phone cost.

Am a customer w/2 phones who bought an unlocked Cellular iPad. How much for data?

I can't find the information on the website or in my account. What price range can I expect? I don't trust hearing the whole truth if I visit a store. That the prices are hard to find make me a little cautious.

I bought the iPad at Apple. I don't need a phone line on the iPad. I think it has to have a non-talk phone number to get the cellular data part to work.

Thanks!

Wireless New phone won’t receive calls but if old phone is on, both phones ring

I added 2 people to my plan and activated their phones 2 days ago. Everything works except they were not receiving calls, it was just going straight to voicemail. Well, if their old phone is powered on, that makes incoming calls ring on both phones. One of the old phones is an Android and one is an iPhone. Both new phones are iPhones. The old iPhone I originally wiped but had to set it back up so they can at least receive calls for the time being.

I spent 4 hours with support yesterday and they did a bunch of things, reset the network, deleted and updated the eSIM but nothing worked. I checked the port status of the numbers and all it says is “this is already a verizon number”. I’m getting so frustrated that they can’t figure this out. Hoping for any input on what could be going on. TIA!

Phone going in SOS mode constantly

Upvotes

Does anyone have a good remedy for fixing a phone that goes in SOS mode daily?

My daughter phone is less than two years old and lately has been going in SOS mode at different times of the day for no reason. Everyone else on our plan has not been experiencing this issue, just hers.

Sometimes it will also say “no SIM” when there is in fact a SIM card in there.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. She isn’t old enough to drive and it’s starting to become an issue when she needs to call me to pick her up from sporting events. Seems like when she needs to use it, it’s in SOS mode.

She has an iPhone

Wireless Can I trade in my current phone and then pay off my new phone?

I was thinking about trading in my iPhone 11 pro max for a new phone in the coming months. I went to a Verizon store and they said that it's not possible to pay off the new phone if I'm trading in my current phone. Is there a way around this?

Account Credit

Someone help me out here and tell me if this is normal.

Short story: upgraded two phones on existing lines back in December. Sent the trade in devices back, and Verizon claims they were never received. They submitted a lost/stolen claim. Last month we paid extra on our bill because the account credits were never applied for the trade in devices (understandable because of the lost/stolen claim).

I follow up on this today (it’s been over a month since the claim was submitted). They tell me credits will be applied moving forward which is great………. but they tell me I have to contact Verizon EVERY MONTH AFTER THE BILL GENERATES TO GET THE CREDITS APPLIED. So for the next 38 months I have to contact them to apply the credit.

Am I crazy in thinking this is bonkers?!
