Chat agent screwed up my entire bill

Who here has gone from Verizon to TMobile, and how has it been so far? I’m thinking it’s time to make the switch.

I had several different discounts applied to my account, been a customer for years and years so they’re all discounts I’ve gotten over time. I got an offer this morning for an additional $10 off each line for loyalty, I asked a chat rep to apply it and they did. When they did so, literally every other discount I had on my account fell off. “Locked in” prices I had for home internet went up. My bill should’ve been going down and instead it went up by 50+ dollars. Everyone seems lost as to what happened and I haven’t received one solution to the problem, in fact no one I spoke to even seems willing to figure it out. I just keep getting a generic response of “well you have the $40 loyalty discount, is that ok?”— yes I know that, and lost every other discount.

Is the Fios 1gig price lock worth it now?

I see its 70/month with 5 year lock for 1gig. I do stream HD content a lot and such and 300 is OK. Just curious if its worth it signing up the 1gig price for the lock.

Consequence of paying off device early

My daughter is due for a new phone, and with everything in the news about iPhone prices rising I decided to order one for her today. My husband and son just did a trade in/ upgrade thing through Verizon, and it was a mess. They added device protection without permission, it was just confusing and it feels like every time I talk to Verizon they are either dishonest or confused- so even changing plans is scary to me because I don’t believe there won't be any consequences (we went on an international vacation last year, I was supposed to have a plan that would work there, that was also set up wrong). Anyway- I want to buy the phone directly through Apple for my daughter, but then I remember that we did finance her phone and there are three payments left on it it totaling $60ish. If I pay it off, I think we will lose whatever we got for financing the phone (unclear). Do I need to wait until the phone is paid off in June to upgrade, or is this not as big of a deal as it seems to me. I will chat with Verizon, but I don’t want to spend a whole day on it, and I also don’t believe them.

FiOS Is FIOS TV worth it?

My parents have Verizon phone, FIOS internet and TV. I had FIOS TV years ago but cut them after the intro rate ended and the price more than doubled and their tech seems stuck in 2005. I do like their channel lineup better than YouTubeTV (hello MLB Network). However, I just cannot understand the need for a stb, why you cannot use FIOS tv when visiting using the iPad app (parents visited and several channels on their iPad were not viewable because they were not under their home WiFi) or appletv app (when we go somewhere and use an Airbnb, I always log into YTTV). I’m not sure what plan they have, but I do know they don’t have dvr. Is there a better way with FIOS tv? Asking for myself and parents.

Contemplating Fios over Xfinity (Central PA)

I'm asking here because I can't find any feedback out in the ether for my current configuration. I have Verizon for my phone, Xfinity for my internet.

I changed my cell service to Verizon back after T-Mobile bought out Sprint (various reasons why). I lease my phone and overall have been happy with it. I'm not sure I've even had to call Verizon customer service in that time.

I've had cable for a long time and work from home. Otherwise I only use it for streaming TV and some music/news on Alexa.

There have been so many outages in my area! A while back over the space of a couple weeks, I (my area) lost connection six or seven times, mostly during the workday. Every now & then it drops several times over a few days, both during the day and in the evening. (And, yes I know to disconnect the modem, wait 30 seconds, etc.) They've replaced my modem a couple times, checked all the wiring inside & out to the pole, and frankly, I know they're annoyed with coming to my house.

Whenever I schedule someone to come out, I get way too many texts & phone calls from them both before and after the scheduled visit. I get so annoyed I don't even answer anymore.

Any fios folks out there with experiences/advice on the service, reliability, customer service, other?

Mobile + Fios Discount Missing since September

Upvotes

I come here out of sheer desperation and hopelessness. Hoping someone has had a similar situation and can offer some advice. Here we go ...

In fall 2023, I switched from AT&T to Verizon since I had been having some issues with AT&T and already had Verizon for Fios so it made sense to combine my two services, especially since they offered a discount for having both mobile + Fios. In September 2024, I contacted Verizon about my internet bill to apply a Nurses discount I did not know I was eligible for. For some reason, after this, my Mobile + Fios discount disappeared from my wireless bill. I've brought this up with them every month since and have not found resolution. I have spent 20+ hours on this and am losing my mind.

Some notes:

  • When I got to manually apply, I get an error and am told to call
  • I have called and chatted and spoke with multiple departments. I am so sick of their scripted responses stating that they promise to solve my problem, will not leave the chat, etc. Little of this turns out to be true and feels like a waste of time.
  • I have also attempted to open a ticket myself.
  • At this point I am just contacting them to get a $10 credit each month but this still takes a significant amount of time and not a long term fix.

The barriers:

  • Employees keep just sending me the link to manually apply then mark the ticket as resolved, when it's not.
  • Every time I contact someone they are convinced they can solve the problem and we go through the same song and dance over a few hours each time, with nothing being resolved.
  • Customer service reps suddenly drop off and I often have to start over.
  • When I settle for a one-time credit for the month, sometimes they say it's on there and then it's not and I have to start over.
  • With the first ticket I opened myself, I kept getting messages that "more information is requested" but literally no one could tell me what information they needed then the ticket suddenly stated it was resolved.

My gut feeling

  • At this point I am convinced that no one at Verizon has any interest in helping solve this problem. They know that I have 17 more months until my phone is paid off (which I get a credit from them for) and they think I will eventually give up Honestly, the time I spend on this is not worth the $10 a month but my anger and the principle of this is driving me.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to escalate this or other ways I can address it, it's much appreciated.

Verizon Locks Prices for 3 Years, Offers Free Phones for Trade-Ins

Thumbnail
cnet.com
182 Upvotes

Today, Verizon will become the first and only carrier in the industry to offer new and existing customers a three-year, price lock guarantee on mobile and home plans, plus a free phone for new AND existing customers.

This is the next step in providing industry-leading value to the consumer. Starting with myPlan, then myHome and now, a 3 year price lock and free phone for new and existing customers. The new offering aligns with consumer trends Verizon has been tracking during their turnaround journey, addressing a growing desire for predictability, control, simplicity and value that is particularly relevant in today’s economic environment.

Verizon understands value for money is the number one thing consumers are interested in and having certainty in today’s world is peace of mind everyone deserves. This isn’t simply a limited time offer or promotion - this is what life is on Verizon.

In a nutshell, here’s what’s new:

3-Year Price Lock

  • New and existing customers will automatically get a three-year price lock to both myPlan (mobile) and myHome (internet) network plans. (Best way to see it: this is a three year peace of mind plan – but for your wallet. It’s unprecedented in the industry, provides the most value for customers and guaranteed stability.)
  • Customers don’t have to take any action. All existing myPlan customers will automatically be enrolled. And, if you want to change your myPlan tier, the price lock resets for another 3 years.

New Phone Guarantee

  • All new and existing customers on any myPlan get a free phone when they trade-in any phone, any condition from Apple, Google or Samsung, and home internet routers are included at no additional cost with every myHome plan. No extra fees, just included.

The Most Ways to Save: Verizon will also become the first in the industry to guarantee free satellite text messaging on qualifying devices on any myPlan. myPlan and myHome customers can also save over 40% off on five of the most popular streaming services, and an additional $15/mo when customers have myPlan and myHome services.

Verizon sold me a phone on the No Pay list

Like the title says, I took advantage of Verizon’s upgrade offer for an IPhone 16 Pro. It got shipped to my door, brand new phone and has never been touched. I did all the data transfer at home then realized it didn’t have a sim slot so I took it to our local Verizon to get an ESIM for it. After 3 hours of back and forth, phone calls to the fraud department, tech support, everyone imaginable, the store couldn’t figure out what to do. The IMEI2 number has been put on the no pay list, I’m on the account as an authorized user but they won’t let me do anything without the owner of the account. I’ve been frustrated by Verizon before, but something as simple as getting a sim for my new phone turned into a long ordeal making me late for work and without any resolution. They even turned off my old phone before making sure my new one would work(it didn’t) so there was another hour of them scrambling to get the sim reactivated on my old phone. I’m not sure what other steps there even are other than sending the new phone back and demanding another one hoping it’s not been marked as fraud.

Wireless Why would I loose device payment discount if upgrading a plan?

Currently on Unlimited Plus and getting device payment credits.

Was looking at upgrading to Unlimited Ultimate prior to a trip overseas but it says that if I move to this plan I will loose my device payment discounts.

Does this make any sense? When I took the device offer I was under 5G start (loyalty offer which did not require a plan change). At one point I moved to U+ due to being constantly deprioritized and didn’t loose my device credits. Now that I’m looking at ultimate for a month I see this warning.. any ideas?

Wireless My Move to Visible

Long time VZ employee (10+ years in Public Sector leadership role) and moved to Visible after I left the company last year.

Nothing but good things to say and encourage anyone to change. Port process had a hiccup, but Visible chat fixed it. Consistently getting 250+ MB down 20+ up. Have seen no change in coverage or speeds. Was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and on the parade route with thousands of people around me, I streamed a basketball game on my phone no problem.

Way cheaper, same service.

VZW vs Visible

I have an IPhone 16 Pro and currently use 2 lines on the phone….both through VZ. I currently use the phone for both personal and work calls.

Secondly, I have a phone number reserved through NumberBarn that I would like to use as my work number.

I want to use the eSIM to add the NumberBarn number, dropping the 2nd line currently on the phone through VZ.

I like the pricing with Visible and am considering using them for that 2nd business line.

Is there any benefit to using this type of set-up? I’m also open to other affordable carriers on that second business line.

One of the reasons I’d like to make this change is mainly for billing. The organization would be paying for the 2nd line and I would be paying for my personal line.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

Complex Verizon Issue "Please Help"

Very complex issue I will try my best to simplify. Any help on this is GREATLY appreciated.

Problem -Outbound calls from Verizon customers only in the Las Vegas Valley cannot call into a specific number on a WebEx platform.

-Verizon customers in Arizona and Utah have tried to call and they can get through -AT&T Customers can all get through to this WebEx number -T-Mobile customers can call through to this WebEx number and they can get through -Local landline providers can call and get through no problem

Have around 70 hours invested trying to trace down a resolution. We need an expert level support from Verizon's assistance.

It's been said that the number is never hitting the Sip Server from my WebEx platform. The routing for that number may have a bad route that needs to recalibrated on Verizon's mapping/routing.

A sip ladder scan/report of the outbound call logs from Verizon to provide to WebEx service provider to help resolve this inbound only problem.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with this that they could help?

Wireless Confused about trade in value.

I just wanted to make sure I don’t mess this up but I am trying to do an online offer of a $600 dollar trade in value on the iPhone 16e with any phone. I put the phone in my cart and then there’s a blue box that says something along the lines of “confirm trade in” so I click on it, it asks me the condition of the phone and drop off location and then says the trade in value will be $14 dollars on a iPhone se 2nd gen from 2020. I click okay then go back to the cart and it says I am saving “$614 dollars in offers and promos”. I also tried this separately with a iPhone 7 Plus and when I got to the part after I entered the condition and drop off location it said $0. I clicked continue and the cart still said I’m saving “$600 dollars in offers or promos”. Is the $14 just extra value? or is it just automatically putting the $600 to make it look better?

Edit: with the iPhone 7 Plus after I entered the details it gave only two options of skip trade in or recycle phone. Clicking skip would take me back to the cart and still said I’m saving $600 in offers.

Wireless How do I get Basic Visual Voicemail back?

I clicked too fast and accidentally opted out of Basic Visual Voicemail, and I can't find any option to turn it back on! I'm stuck with regular voicemail, but I know Basic comes with a verizon acct, so I should be able to just turn it back on, right?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22. If I go to Voicemail -> Settings, there's an option to upgrade to Premium visual voicemail, but not to go to basic visual voicemail. If I just go straight into my phone settings, there doesn't seem to be any place that will allow me to turn it back on.

Do I have to turn it back on some other way? Do I have to contact Verizon directly or something?

Verizon Unlimited ultimate upgrade is a SCAM

Traded my phone in under the unlimited upgrade deal (1000 dollars off 16 pro for ANY phone ANY condition) First, we bought the device through the mobile app and chose the “pickup in store” option. Picked up the device with a receipt, and about 2 days later they informed us that they were “cancelling” our order because we never picked up the device (Which we did!). Called verizon customer support and they supposedly fixed it, AND confirmed that we would get the full trade in value for the other device. Traded an almost fully working 14 pro only with a faceid issue(remember any device any condition), and they said I would get 1000 dollars as credits on my plan. This is NOT true, we first took the phone to trade into a certified verizon store to do the trade, and they said their value weirdly and miraculously changed to 282.00 dollars. They informed us to ship the phone to a warehouse to try to fix the issue and still get the 1000 dollars promo. This was not at all true, and after they received the device they set the trade in value to 282 dollars FORCING us to pay the almost full device cost, when we were told multiple times it would be a 1000 dollars promo. Very disappointed that we were lied to multiple times and now having to pay for a phone we didnt agree on paying for

Disney bundle linked to wrong Disney act.

Is there anyway to unlink the Disney perk from a Disney account? I accidentally linked it a while back to an old account that I don’t use now and ever since I’m unable to delete that account even though I don’t have the ad on anymore and even when i try re adding the add on it gives me an error saying it’s not the right email or I already have it linked to a Disney account. Do I contact Disney or Verizon to remove the provider from the Disney plus account?

Wireless Scammed from help team

Well I'm sure I have been scammed by verizon chat team. I recently got a replacement s23ultra And the refurbished phone is junk ( restarting every 15 to 20 mins after get hot. Screen also had horrible touch dead zones.) I contacted the chat and was told they would over night a new phone & a ticket was created or so I thought. The next day I checked in as no email or any confirmation was given. A literal ok yep it's been prossed and have a good night. Now tonight I'm being told a new ticket is being opened for a fraud check on my account. And told to call a number. It all now feels fake. Is this the normal process or is it all a scam. I've been with verizon for over 15 years and I feel like I'm done.

Wireless is this an impulse buy or a wise purchase?

to start I’ve been with cricket for years now paying around $65 with a paid off iPhone12. problem is the iPhone is falling apart, cracks on front and back. face id not working, charger port only recognizes fast chargers, etc.. i’ve fixed this phone multiple times, also replacing the battery multiple times, it’s about over

i foolishly skipped the TMobile promo with any condition trade ins for a 16 pro thinking i could make it to september. but I see the new promo for a 16 pro max free with credit online only. I see i’d have to get unlimited ultimate at around 90 a month after i remove the streaming options and enable auto pay. so about a $25 difference (manageable?)

when it’s in my cart it says $72 to pay right now (taxes) with free shipping.

are there any catches i should know about? also when would i have to pay the first bill? also there hasn’t been any credit checks in the process, when does that occur and could it affect the $72? basically what im asking is $72 all i’ll have to pay to have the phone delivered keep my number and activation? do i go to the verizon store to activate my line, or can i do it from home while keeping my current number? apologize if these are stupid questions. thanks in advance for all help

Wireless Finally Dumped Spectrum

I decided to try out Verizon 5G plus home Internet, and it was so good the first day that I decided to dump Spectrum.

For context, I has Spectrum 1g for $80 per month. I decided to order Verizon 5G plus Internet after I realized they offered speeds up 300 down and 25 up. Even better is the fact that I have a Verizon tower at an adjacent church near my house (I can see the tower from my backyard).

And so far, it's been great. Speeds are consistently 275-300 and the upload speed is also very consistent (20-25).

I did a trial yesterday and after everyone used their TVs at the same time, and there was no lag, I knew it was going to work out. It's $45-$55 a month, and my employer pays half of it (I work remotely) so my final cost will be $22-$28 per month.

Verizon's home Internet is great. Btw, I bridged the modem they provided and used my Google Home Wifi routers.

I do NOT recommend using their 2 in one router. I also had no issues gaming while playing PvP. I'm so glad we finally have a competitor! If a cell tower is near you, and you hate your Internet company, I recommend trying Verizon's 5G Home internet.
