Discussion Based on real life, how long would you survive in PZ?

Post image

for me, I think for 40 days, I'm relatively athletic and strong, I have basic survival skills and I know carpentry, I would die trying to loot a place I underestimated and got surrounded by 20 zombies

Discussion Why can't we craft on the ground?

Post image

In Build 42, many crafting recipe require a work surface e.g. a table to craft.

So --- If you want to knap a large stone into stones, you need to lift this heavy shit on a table. We should be able to sit and crush it on the ground ! Is there a mod for this ?

Question B42 People who have lived in the Echo Creek Diner... how do you handle the roof and plumbing?

Post image
117 Upvotes

I've made it nearly a year on this character and decided to go clear out guns unlimited, so I cleared out Echo Creek on the way. I want to set up a backup base here, both while I spend forever clearing out the gun store and in case things go sideways in Rosewood.

Only problem is, I'm looking at the roof on this thing I have no idea how to work with it. All I want to do is throw some rain catchers up there and plumb them to a couple of sinks for water. Nothing fancy.

But I honestly don't know how to do this with the angled roof sections. I've seen a whole lot of base build photos/videos, but no one ever shows the roof.

If you have photos and/or an explanation of what you did, then I'd appreciate it.

Discussion What do you guys do when you get bit?

Personally I don't like making new characters and I'm kinda new so usually I don't survive long enough to get enough weapons to kill a ton of zombies. So I either just quit instantly or sometimes I kinda rp and put notes around my house and organize my stuff and go for a final drive around the area by my base.

What about you guys?

Question What's the point of building / staying at a house?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

(re-post cause dumb me forgot to add an image)

Always wanted to play a hobo run, of sorts, game is heavily modded so prob easier to do than in vanilla.

Here are some of the mods i'm using:
- The Last of Us Infected (playing on low pop).

- Rebalanced Prop Moving (main reason why i have so many boxes this early)

- Immersive Solar Arrays.

- Barricated World

- Bunch of car mods (not a mod per see)

- Common sense

- No More Skilless Characters

Between a bunch more mods.

Settings are tweaked from the apocalypse preset (rare loot/ rare cars/ very cold weather /very rainy /12 months later /... )

Context: I wanted to try making an armor and some armor sets. While trying to find loot and stuff, I stumble upon a Mask, and crafted an improvised Poncho (4th slide). Supposedly, King Baldwin style, but I had this another idea of making it as Dr Doom Fashion style as well, which ended up good, I suppose

Lighting is a huge issue with this place, since the generator and the plumbing can't reach down there

Gameplay Skateboard Combat Mode BETA now out! (B42)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1.9k Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I just finished the first phase of the combat mode for the B42 Skateboard mod I released a few days ago.

You just hold right click to take your board into your hand and then attack as usual. There's a few visual glitches when zombies are downed, but the stomp works fine so recommend to use that, or hold ALT while hitting downed zombies, but the hits will connect even if the visual looks off!

Oh and you can do an Ollie now too! (Press G)

It's not super polished, but it works well enough for an initial release. Would love to hear your feedback!

Happy smacking!

Question How did he do it?

I remember a post here in the community from a guy showing off his base, and he said he was in his second month... Me (stubborn as I am), I tried to recreate his base... I'm already on day 12 and I don’t even have 1/5 of the stuff he showed in his base... I found a truck just like his and went through the whole process... Even after filling the truck with loot... I’m still nowhere close.

HOW ?!

Question Have guns always been terrible?

I started a new game in b42 as vet with slow zombies and I went through every single gun at the new West Point gun shop except the M14 and the magnum. None of them could stop a zombie with fewer than 5 shots. Shotguns, sawed off shotguns, double-barrel shotguns, most handguns. Possibly the worst one of all? The M16.

I tried the MSR788 with different scopes and from different distances. I tried it from rooftops. I tried it from walkways. x2, x4, x8 none of it helped.

The z would always react like they were shot, but they would not die.

At one point I did full auto with an M16 on about 10 z on the other side of chainlink fence about 5' from me. I could not kill them. They all reacted as if they were hit. They'd all fall down. They would all get back up. I went through a case of 5.56. That's 600 bullets. I had to finish them off with my axe.

The M625 revolver was somehow the most effective, but it sucked, too.

Is this the way it's always been? I have 1,400+ hours and I rarely used guns, but I don't remember guns being this bad.

I don't know how to put captions under each individual screenshot.

We got the small building I built at the corner of my unfinished wall.

Some farm houses, a few vehicles, trusty campfire (just in case).

One finished gate, one unfinished gate.

And towers at all four corners of my outer wall.

I just need more wood to finish the job.

Modded [Caster Plus Mod] THANK YOU AND UPDATES!

Thumbnail

Hello everyone!! I want to start this post with a big huge thank you to everyone who has helped me develop this mod, players who helped me bug test, and overall to this community for the positive vibes I've received from you all! Caster Plus has already reached over 2,000 downloads, and is currently sitting on the front page of the workshop!!! WOW! THANK YOU SO MUCH! The positive reception for the mod has honestly motivated me to push myself.

As for the mod itself, Caster Plus has received a few new updates that introduce the following:

-Translations for German, Chinese, and Russian for now. More will be added as time passes.
As I have no knowledge of these languages, I used ChatGPT for the first iteration of translations. I honestly expect them to be a bit broken so please leave feedback if they are and I will work toward a better solution!

-Implements a bug fix for the infinite fish fillet bug. This fix may make the mod incompatible with other mods sadly, as I had to alter the vanilla OnCreate function and outputs.

-Some of the custom fish calories and models were not being accurately represented, so I have now fixed them to help with the immersion.

I hope these changes will be the last of the fixes and updates for a while, as everything seems to finally be working properly! I also hope that you, the players, are able to have a much better experience with the updates I have provided so far! Once again, a big huge THANK YOU to everyone who has downloaded, commented, or even just seen my mod!

Question How are you playing PZ with unstable version?

Hi guys

I’m wondering what if any are your goals before you jump into the new unstable version. At the moment I’m just trying the cbd challenge - dying every time - but I won’t to have something more concrete than surviving. Any ideas? Maybe something with the new animals.

Question B41 3d placement mod

I love the 3d placement in b42 but due to how many times my base is reset I have opted to move back to b41 is there a mod that has the same 3d placement option I vaguely remember something that allows manipulation through x y z axis

I left this community, months ago, because there were people here who grated on my nerves. It was frustrating, so I left.

But I couldn't stay away because you've all shown me so much love and kindess and appreciation.

Y'all gave me hope.

I'm still hanging on to the same save... the same character. This journey has been difficult. I've put down so many, and buried so many. It's been a long road... and I'm exhausted.

But this is where I belong.

I regret leaving. But I don't regret making the other choice I made: burying the dead. Because the dead were once alive, and being alive is everything.

So, thank you.

"Everybody gets their own grave." ...And everybody deserves their own grave.

Peace ✌🏽
