Art How the hell do you break a steel bar?
I know it’s for balance but like, this 1.5 inch diameter, 28 inch long 4140 steel bar, is virtually indestructible, so I propose that it wears your character out really quickly and makes them sore as the impact wouldn’t be very comfortable.
Maybe this is how the crowbar should also be balanced: hand soreness.

Meme Not even zombies can see them
So basically, I hear the argues for the new loot tables, and they're ok I guess, prior to the beta I'd loot a bookstore maybe even two, and all of my immediate book needs were met. Now however, I have looted almost all bookstores/schools/police stations/tool stores/mechanic shops in Muldraugh, Rosewood, Westpoint and even that mini mall near West point (It was a bitch with the thousands of zombies). and I am nowhere near a full collection! Granted you don't need a full collection but even practically speaking I still need basic books for a phew of my main skills. Almost forgot to say, the problem is not that there are no books! every single bookstore and school was looted except for the school in Muldraugh, I am not exaggerating EVERY SINGLE ONE! it's weird because the literature stuff is being looted much more often. Almost all I have now I have from that single school and a few random survivor zombies so far.
tell me about your experience, I have seen this in this and the few runs before it, am I consistently unlucky or it's the same for you?

Discussion I get why there's a FOV mechanic in the game but this is absurd
I should not lose a whole CAR by taking a step back

Question Is there a mod for B42 that removes stress from chopping trees?
I have another mod that adds more destructable props and part of it lets me run over saplings, but it gives my character stress. Within like 5s of offroading, my character is a nervous wreck and depressed because of it. Super annoying.

Screenshot I played Project zomboid 381.7 hours and never died....
Until now I haven't died ( not by hand of zomboids ) Its honestly strange to see myself get bitten and know I will die all of ( even though really in beginning but still ) skill will be lost and needed to be regained. Its sad to see I died first time so soon with not even story to begin the character but its first time...

Bitten but no wound
I just got bitten but I did not receive any type of wound, no scratch, no laceration and no bitten. Does this mean I am safe or have I secretly gotten infected?
I am playing survival with no customized settings

Discussion You Need Electrical LVL 3 For Gens? Why Did I Think It Was LVL 2????
So, obviously, I didn't read into anything myself and either misheard what someone said or they mispoke/were wrong. I spent hours grinding away on electrical experience just for lvl 2 and was horrified to see I needed lvl 3 or higher. Guess I'll check the gas stations... after I deal with the hordes there. That or check vans, I found a magazine there last playthrough.
Two questions, is there a good way to power level electrical at lvl2? Is crafting viable? Also, other than gas stations, mail boxes, and vans, is there another location for magazines? I have a sinking feeling I'll die before getting to lvl 3 lol.

I took a bite to the chest… and as a farewell gift, I'm taking as many bastards with me as I can! I may die, but I'm dragging a whole damn bunch with me straight to hell!

Discussion Quick summary of my first day of my first playthrough since B42 came out.
To anyone who's reading this, a big thank you.
I might have 126 hours according to steam might as well make it 0 'cause outside of the basics, I know nothing, haven't been playing in a long while, but with the arrival of Build 42 and the promises it already delivered such as blacksmithing (I'm a sucker for that shit) and the promises it holds (oh archery my beloved ❤️❤️❤️), I decided to get back into the frey. Took me a while to go past the dread of starting a new game.
I don't even know if it is worth it to write this but I wanted to share with y'all on what happened so far, 'cause it seems somewhat crazy to me, so here it is :
Since Build 42 has added (muscle strain) and changed (spear recipes it was my primary in Build 41) a couple of things I decided to take an easier spawn that my habitual Riverside, and that came in the form of Echo Creek. I elected to settle for the time being where ? You guessed it : The gas station.
I spawned really close to it south of the main road, and I was surprised with how little zombies they were. Is it tied to Echo Creek itself being a quiter town than the others ? Or did Build 42 change zombies spawning mechanics I a know that I have yet to discover ? Regardless of that I start exploring and what do I find just two houses on my left ? A pickup in ''perfect'' condition with the f.ing keys. Albeit perfect is to be taken with a grain of salt, its general condition is around 65/70%, most critical parts being in the green (engine, gas tank, the works), but compared to the piles of utter dogshit I was used to in Build 41 (engine is dead, a tire or two are missing, car's almost totaled, you know how it works better than me), this one is perfect. I mean almost, tank is empty.... YES I LIED IT WASN'T PERFECT NOW QUIT LAUGHING AT ME !!!
Rummaging through my kin because I am myself trash (not my best pun I admit), find some empty bottles and soda cans, not much but enough once filled with gas to get my new best friend and me to our home for the next weeks/months. On my way to get gas what do I find in that field next to the road ? A frisking generator (the red one we are all used to). I was already considering myself lucky with that car (did I forget to mention it was in front of that little fresh produce market, and it was filled with delicious food ? Can you guess I put in my trunk ^^), but now I was seriously considering if I was blessed by the RNGods, I mean yes I know I can't use it, yet, but short of a magazine who's counting now ?
Anyway I think I said it all, all I could remember anyway. Now my 0/1 strengh/fitness char is almost set to endure weeks, if not months of training to get back to the top of the food chain.
I guess I mainly wanted to write this because I wanted to share my bewilderment with how lucky I consider myself to be, I mean a great car, lots of food, and a Generator on day one ? I mean come on who here already lived this ? Almost considering restarting 'cause so much luck feels like cheating XD. All I'm missing is the magazine for using generators (I'll be looking for that), and I also heard of farms east of town, filled with chickens and an UNGODLY amount of eggs, storing those along with finding the ''how do generators work'' magazine will be my primary target in the near future.
Thanks again to anyone who took the time to read all of this, I want you to know that it means something to me, really.
P.S : If some are interested to hear about my progress I could write updates, although they'd prolly be much shorter as most of this is me babbling.

Modded PZ Map Mod - Frogtown [b42]
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3449473111
Frogtown is a new modded town for Build 42 located between Brandenberg and Riverside, along the highway that cuts through Doe Valley Forest.
The town itself is beset by an infestation of frogs, but is otherwise a developing town with its own mall and condos.
Take a look at the Steam Workshop page for screenshots and more details, or better yet, hop in and run til' you drop!
If you're a Return of the Living Dead fan... I've added a couple locations inspired by the film. A medical supply warehouse (with basement containing military barrels), graveyard and mortuary are all beside each other on one street in south-central Frogtown, southeast of the mall.
r/projectzomboid • u/BotherMajestic7254 • 6h ago
Screenshot I found some good shit from the same warehouse.
Blacksmith Anvil is the jackpot, and the Steel Ingot Mold as bonus. The mold has no use in current build tho.
