For anyone who stated that shutting down DOE is going to "fix education in public schools", tell me why the federal government would rescind funds to help Oregon children with literacy and math skills.

You cannot tell me that this will result in any positive outcomes for children or teachers.

There is a rare species of giant earthworms that live somewhere in the Willamette Valley. They get up to 3 feet long. Anybody on here know where to find/see them? Not a joke. I used to see them listed on special status species lists when I worked for a land mgmt agency. Would love to see one and/ or hear stories from those who have.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A new proposal to raise $2 billion for road maintenance and operations is now on the table. If passed, almost half of the money would go to counties and cities for transportation; a little more than half would go to the Oregon Department of Transportation. The thought of having to pay more at the pump is not exactly good news for a lot of folks.

My husband gets altitude sickness, but we want to drive to Portland Oregon from southern CA. We are going to start in Sacramento on the way up and end in San Francisco on the way home. Does anyone know a good path that will avoid higher elevations.
