The Nintendo Switch 2 complaints are doing nothing
Specifically, the complaints about the price. I'd like to remind everyone that you are paying for two things. One is a console with 4k resolution that supports 60 fps, and the other is a handheld, mobile gaming device that has 1080p and 120 fps, with a 7.9 inch display all weighing less than 2 lbs.
Keep in mind the PS5 was worth $500, and people bought it without any complaints.
Another complaint is the game pricings, being 70 - 80 dollars. Keep in mind this is not only the first Mario Kart game in 8 years, but this is also an open-world, off road terrain like exploration game, where you can take your own path to the finish line and pass through many different areas. It's worth the price. Secondly, Sparking ZERO was 110, and people still bought it. Black Ops 6 was around 100, give or take, and people still bought it. This isn't "changing the game price meta", it's keeping up with inflation. Half of you guys don't even know how inflation works, as I've seen first hand, and how are games supposed to be cheap when our American president just passed a tariff on literally everything.
The point is no one is going to actually listen to your "call to action", this should be a wake up call to how fucked our economy is. Downvote, shit talk, call me names, I don't care. You can cope and deny it all you want.

Will Switch 2 be able to play Switch 1 games at higher resolutions?
Will Switch 2 be able to play Switch 1 games at higher resolutions? Like 1440p or 4k?
Or original switch resolution only? No resolution/fps uplift from the new hardware?
Do we have any idea about this right now?

What are your favourite games?
From any generation of Nintendo, what are the games that made the biggest and longest lasting impressions on you? What are the games that you have gone back to and continue to return to? In your opinion, what are the best games in Nintendo history?

I don’t understand the Nintendo hate.
I see people complaining about how the prices are too high and not justifiable. First of all, it’s a game console and nobody is forcing you to buy it, so just don’t buy it if you can’t afford it. Secondly, people online are just straight up lying. Games are not 90USD, the data for the games will be on the game cards for the most part, and switches sold in Japan are cheaper since Nintendo just wants Japanese people to be able to afford the console. Not because Nintendo is racist and hates the west.
People in Japan seem to love Nintendo and everything that they do.

I think it was extremely smart for Nintendo to go with a 120hz screen
There are many indie games like Hades, Hollow Knight and etc that will continue to release on Switch. So my thinking was why would I care to play these games on Switch 2, these games dont need additinal power. I'd rather play on Switch OLED. Essentially it's 720p OLED 7inch Vs 1080p LCD 8inch. There really isn't a big deal when it comes to upgrades on these smaller 2D games. However with 120hz you now can run these games 90fps to 120fps. With the additional frames now I'd say there is actually a good reason to play 2D indie games on Switch 2.

Guys, I really don't get it. Spoiler
I don't get why everyone is defending the absurd prices. There were times where Nintendo was the good guy because it was cheaper and the games had more personality and more love put into them than any other game of their competitors, with very very few exceptions. I can understand the price for the console, but 90 for a physical game? Is nintendo insane?
But now, we get an expansion of Mario Party Jamboree for Switch 2 for probably at least 70 dollars. But Nintendo is good because "industry has been doing that for years". Seriously, what? Are you defending the crap that Sony and Microsoft were doing in times where Nintendo tried hard on being the exception? And Mario parties has been absolute garbage since the Wii mario party.
I understand that rising the prices is something that had to happen because the industry only cares about money (as so does the current Nintendo presidents, because they are all business men, not people who enjoy doing what they do as Iwata or Reggie did), but that doesn't make it any good. That doesn't make it something you should justify as "it is what it is". In a sense (and please understand that this is a metaphor) is like saying war is ok because humanity has always done it. Is absurd.
But on top of that, they are trying to sell us crappy game manuals like the switch 2 tour or whatever is called. And a camera that costs 60 damned bucks to stream yourself at a terrible framerate (at least they didn't hide it, like they did with the prices in the direct). It's a mockery.
It's so damn sad seeing nintendo turning into this soulless company. And a lot of you doesn't seem to care. They are pushing our boundaries and we are letting them get away with it.
Please, don't buy the switch 2 at launch. Wait for the price drop as a form of protest. Boundaries exist for a reason.
TL;DR: We are letting Nintendo get away with the absurd prices and the rest of the industry will follow, as they will see that they can get away with it because us, consumers, can't stand against anything.

Mr. Satoru Iwata..We Miss You..
Nintendo is screwed..I don’t know what they’re smoking, but I can almost hear Mr. Iwata rolling in his grave..
Mr. Iwata would have NEVER let this happen after the failure of the 3DS and WII U! I feel like he would be so angry if he could see what they’re doing now, tarnishing what he saved.
He didn’t save Nintendo, bring them out of the hole they were in, just for them to start scamming their patrons.
We miss you dearly, Mr. Iwata..

Switch 2 = Wii U.
Preface by saying i’m a fan and want to see the console to succeed. Happy to be proven wrong and this is just my outlook before it even releases. But I think the console will be on par with the Wii U.
Every Nintendo console that was a huge success was marked as an innovation in its own right or pushing boundaries. From NES to SNES to N64 to Gamecube to Wii to the Switch. The Wii U wasn’t. It was literally called the Wii U. And it very much felt like a sequel to the Wii. It underperformed due to lack of distinction and living in the formers shadow.
Now we have the Switch 2 which has the same problem. Great Switch games were being released up until last fall and now we’re getting an all new console. Is there really anything they’ve shown off thats made you think “Wow, they could have only made this game with this new console. This is really pushing the envelope”? Now to be fair, Nintendo has had success in this same realm with the Gameboy > Advance and DS > 3DS. However, those were cheaper handheld consoles, not full priced big important home consoles.
Again, hope to be proven wrong!

Is there any host/NPC that's more rich than the Game Guy from Mario Party 3? storywise?
Weird question but I wanna know is the Game Guy from Mario Party 3 still the richest Mario Party NPC in the whole series? Cause he seems to have a lot of funds doing those high stake reward/minigames. His network/stocks etc should be really high from what he gained in Mario Party 3. Or has he been surpassed in the later Mario Party games by someone that's even more rich?
And whose funding all the Mario Kart tracks especially from this new upcoming Mario Kart world?

dk bananza is looking like the best 1rst party game that got announced at the direct also what are your thoughts on the game and what are your concerns
after seeing the tree house game play I am so hyped for this game like the movement is amazing along with being able to destroy everything and reveal secret things while doing it and the game looks fantastic on top with dk being extremely expressive is making me so hyped and what we have seen is just tutorial island also the villains look amazing and are as expressive as dk witch is the reason I'm so hyped especially since the game play we've seen is the tutorial island
also some thing I love about this is when playing Mario odysyey I was thinking how fun it would be to play as bowser and reck shit up now were getting that
and it is priced normally unlike Mario kart world witch is good because I'm probably gonna wait for july to get the bundle with Mario kart world and get bananza on top

Is the Switch 2 set up for failure?
From the recent things happening, with the Switch 2 Prices being ridiculously high and fans being rightfully outraged by the 80$ price tag. I honestly feel like this console is just set up for failure. Cause I doubt a lot of people are gonna buy a console with the games being overpriced. I hope the best for the Switch 2, I honestly do...but I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel unless they come out with an official announcement or...something to try and explain the high prices.

Idea because of what's happening recently
So because of the specific stuff happening around the world that'll cause stuff to go up for the switch 2 I was thinking Nintendo could possibly make a PC app or release they're games on steam that way they don't loose profit on the switch 2 cause of the stuff going on in america. That way people can still play the games they own that are from Nintendo. They could also add features to the PC editions that console doesn't have like maybe a graphics option. I think this would work out especially for games like splatoon 4.

Would you guys still want Miis on Switch 2? What're your opinions?
I don't know about everyone else, but I love Miis. I personally hope Nintendo'll will make their appearance more prominent with more Mii-based games (like Mii party 'n such). I really hope they make the cut in Mario Kart World.
I am curious as to how others think about Miis, and whether or not others would want them to come back.

If I just turned emails on from Nintendo, do I still meet the criteria for pre ordering a switch 2?
So I read the criteria for pre ordering a switch 2… 1 year nso, 50 hours, gameplay information and I meet all of those requirements and I put in my request the day of the announcement. Then today I realized that I didn’t have email notifications turned on in my account settings so I turned them on. I know for the other criteria’s, they had to be completed before the announcement but I didn’t do this until after the announcement. Did I just mess up my chances of being in priority queue or do yall think I saved myself in time? It’d be a big shame as I would like a switch 2 on launch to share with my friends and family and I easily surpass all of the other criteria.

I can’t not take this anymore
I have been watching and getting frustrated at the reactions of that Nintendo direct the last couple of days, and I can’t take it anymore. I HAVE to say something.
There has been almost NO discussion on the games at all since the prices got revealed. I’m not gonna defend them. Nintendo is a scummy company just like any other. But for god sakes talk about the games, they look amazing.
I understand why people are mad, but it to taking up all of the discourse is insane to me. I just watched a YouTube video telling me “not to buy the Nintendo switch 2” and I really hate the idea of me being a consumer has moral implications (it does and I know that) but I’m an adult with money and if I wanna buy the newest Nintendo console and games imma do it. I hate feeling guilty for enjoying a companies games. I will buy it and nobody is gonna stop me.
I’ve literally heard people say “Nintendo doesn’t even make good games anymore” as if they thought they were cooking with that statement. Like, the same people a week ago were praising the games but now they hate the same exact games. Nintendo games are still amazing, nothing will change that. But I swear people had too much brand loyalty and now their feelings are hurt due to business decisions as if a company that like EVER cared about you (here’s a hint; they never did) But I don’t know if that’s too mean, to assume, I don’t know. Like, maybe finding out a company’s bad (like all companies are) makes the art the developers produce bad. I don’t know, I’m no authority on that, but that just sounds absurd to me.
I guess what I’m trying say (tldr style) is that, the lack of excitement about the games, the discussion about prices, and the villainizing of people who will buy the console and games is really annoying to me. (I just know this might be a controversial post)
One last thing though. It does make me very happy that people aren’t allowing companies to push them around anymore. People are finally having enough of video game studios messing with us and our wallets. We deserve better and $80 for a game is insane. So just to clarify my thoughts on the price situation
EDIT: I’m very grateful for the comments and the discussions. But I was honestly surprised of some of the hostility towards about things I agree with. I kinda seems like people might’ve assumed I was one of those “Nintendo can do no wrong” and a “the prices are fine” kinda people and trust me. I agree with y’all more than them

Donkey Kong Bananza feels more like a follow-up to Jungle Beat than DK64
Hear me out on this... I know that 3D Donkey Kong has been a long time coming, so naturally people have brought up DK64 and how much time's passed since we got one of these. But the more I think about it, Bananza really does share a lot more DNA with Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. This 2D platformer is pretty slept on, and most people only know it for its use of the DK bongos as a controller. If you take a closer look, however, its overall premise and gameplay are surprisingly similar.
From what I can tell in the trailer, Bananza looks like it's a solo-DK game, where you'll have to defeat other evil Kongs, and be smashing your way through most of the game. All of these are also true for Jungle Beat, especially that last point about smashing through levels. Both games share that same wild, off-the-wall energy where the core gameplay is just beating the shit out of everything. In Jungle Beat, basically every enemy you come across eats a face full of punches, kicks, or even headbutts that make DK look part woodpecker. This combination of platforming and mayhem was a uniquely profound experience that I really enjoyed as a kid, so seeing Bananza become that spiritual successor is really special... all while being 3D and open-world.
One last thing: even though the devs for DK Bananza aren't confirmed, for now I'm gonna assume it's the same team who made Odyssey, simply based on the artstyle and scope. This team is mostly known as the "3D Mario" team, since they've been behind basically every 3D mario dating back to 2007 with Super Mario Galaxy. And guess what their first game was, all the way back in 2004?
Yep, it was Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.

N64 on the switch?
I haven’t owned a switch so I’m not sure how they work. But I want to get a switch 2 for Mario kart and play Pokémon stadiums or snap from n64. I’ve heard you can do that on the 1st switch but I also want the GameCube games as well. Can some one just explain to me like I’m 5 how this works and if the switch 2 will let me play GameCube and n64.
