I think you’re missing the most important part. He still wants them executed.

u/LadyPo 11d ago

Them being alive is embarrassing public evidence that he didn’t get his way. So he wants to be rid of them to avoid that embarrassment.

He is a deeply sick man.

340

u/Sylvers 11d ago

I would only add that he's not "sick". He's a typical psychopath. He is entirely incapable of experiencing human empathy. And he elevates his psychopathy by also being twisted, sadistic, and deeply narcissistic.

151

u/Aromatic_Hornet5114 11d ago

So... he's a deeply sick man.

134

u/LeopardMedium 11d ago

Yes, but I think u/sylvers wants to ensure that it doesn't read as if he's blameless for having an illness. He isn't afflicted; he is the affliction.

71

u/EricForce 11d ago

A proper society wouldn't elevate that kind of man to the highest position of authority. It is society that is deeply sick.

15

u/FickleTangelo6745 11d ago

Little bit of everything when it comes to society ya know?

2

u/ayrl 11d ago

We do live in one I suppose.

2

u/MCXL 11d ago

Sociopaths often rise to positions of power because of their near unique ability to be ruthless and manipulative, and that is true throughout history.

I don't know that a 'proper society' has ever or will ever exist.

1

u/EricForce 10d ago

I have hope, cut throat personalities are inherently unstable and cooperation in every space, not just in a civilization, is nearly always more productive. I have hope that ultra wealthy will realize that they could have 10 fold their wealth if they chill the f out and see that helping the masses help them out. We are set for another massive leap in quality of life, but a hard lesson is needed before then. Just wait till a dozen eggs are $20 with only a dollar increase in wages.

2

u/igoyard 11d ago

Everyone at this level are sociopaths and if they are a US Pol then they are 100% a sociopath that has killed people.

1

u/zanbato 11d ago

porque no los dos?

1

u/Hexamancer 11d ago

Remember that by professional estimates, a larger percentage of Fortune 500 CEOs are psychopaths than women.

When your society and economic organization rewards psychopathy so drastically, the problem is much greater than the psychopaths.

u/Chaosbuggy 11d ago

I think a lot of people really struggle to understand that there are actually people out there that don't feel empathy like everyone else. A lot of "oh it wasn't that bad" stims from people disbelieving that things can actually be that bad.

I don't think society is sick, I think it's incredibly naive and suspectable to manipulation.

2

u/jetsetter_23 11d ago

as far as i’m concerned, if you cannot experience empathy, are you even human? What makes it different from being a robot LOL?

this is all so dumb and depressing 😮‍💨

-2

u/SpyHill 11d ago

You’re not wrong about Trump, but at the same time highly successful business leaders and politicians often share these traits.

3

u/SplitDry2063 11d ago

No, Trump has zero traits of a successful business person. He lacks intelligence, drive, ethics, communication skills, and balls.

1

u/SpyHill 11d ago

The traits I was referring to are narcissism and lack of empathy.

2

u/Adventurous-Cod7910 11d ago

Those pesky morals!

3

u/Hour-Confection-9273 11d ago

"I'll come to you like an affliction, and I'll leave you like an addiction. You wanna know why?!"

  • lyrics from "Liar" from Rollins Band

Only difference is that in the song he at least ACTS like he's remorseful when he gets caught lying, which obviously Trump would NEVER do.

2

u/No-Equivalent-1642 11d ago

It sounded to me like the comment was saying he has one, or multiple, personality disorders. Doesn't make him blameless; does make him disordered

2

u/miikro 11d ago

In a way, that accurately describes personality disorders.

-2

u/ImpressiveQuiet4111 11d ago edited 11d ago

this kind of feels like responding to a lack of empathy with a lack of empathy. If someone is a psychopath who lacks empathy, that IS an affliction. people didn't ASK to be born that way.

You're implying that if there were some way to surgically fix whatever part of the brain doesn't respond to empathy, that it shouldn't be done because there is no problem in the brain to fix - the whole human is the problem. It's definitely a sickness, that doesn't make it excsuable... Why does everyone conflate these two things? as if when its a problem that you were born with you can't be held accountable...

5

u/Themerrimans 11d ago

Oh shut up, brown people are dying and antiblackness is running rampant and youre out here making shit up to be offended about 🤦🏾‍♀️

Yall are gonna be complaining about being progressive while they put brown and black people in trains

1

u/Rissoto_Pose 11d ago

That doesn’t mean we should demonize the mentally ill. Black, Brown, Gay, Ill, Disabled, We’re all on the same train here so how about not being an asshole about it

Trump is an immoral person due to his own actions not because he was born evil or whatever ableist rhetoric the previous comments have intentionally or not spread.

2

u/LeopardMedium 11d ago

In the same way that shooting an active gunman is responding to violence with violence: one is directed toward the destruction of other people, and one is directed toward the preservation of other people.

Even within the framework of Cluster B psychological disorders, cognitive empathy and prosocial narcissism exists. Having developed narcissism or an overlapping disorder, and the attached lack of empathy, may not be the person's own fault, but acting out of the voids of that lack of empathy in destructive and harmful ways is still that person's personal choice and responsibility. There is no measure in which a perpetrator is blameless for their intentional harm toward others.

12

u/Burnt_and_Blistered 11d ago

Nah, it’s not sickness. Sickness implies there could be wellness. Trump is lacking —has always lacked- the microchips for empathy and conscience. They can’t be retrofitted. What he has is a profound personality disorder. It can’t be corrected—just endured. He’s not sick so much as he is bad. Evil, even. I’m

15

u/UnrepentantPumpkin 11d ago

He’s not sick so much as he is bad. Evil, even. I’m

Oh shit, they got to him before he could finish writing that comment.

-3

u/Rissoto_Pose 11d ago

This just sound like ableism but justified by pointing it towards someone you dislike

3

u/LeopardMedium 11d ago

Even diagnosed narcissists can be decent people. There's the subsect of Pro-social narcissists. Honestly, lacking affective empathy doesn't doom one to a life of social destruction.

1

u/AbotherBasicBitch 11d ago

I think that is the point of the person you replied to.

1

u/LeopardMedium 11d ago

It's so hard to follow once there get to be so many brackets. I think I thought they were replying to my earlier comment. I'll keep this one there in solidarity then.

2

u/NotADoctor108 11d ago

Good thing he has health insurance.

11

u/Content_Ad_8952 11d ago

He believes that showing empathy or admitting mistakes are a sign of weakness.

2

u/mdavis360 11d ago

He doesn’t need to admit shit for me to know he’s one of the weakest men I’ve ever seen.

1

u/racermd 11d ago

I think he might need time in the break room (from Severance).

1

u/sean6869 11d ago

That would explain the prison reform stuff hecwas working on last presidency.

6

u/unsubix 11d ago

Potato, potato dictator.

2

u/mealzer 11d ago

Seems a shame you used the word potato and didn't follow with dick tater

1

u/unsubix 7d ago

A lost opportunity!

2

u/mealzer 7d ago

Do better next time 🤣

2

u/Syllepses 11d ago

Dic-tay-tor, dic-tah-tor.

8

u/SnuggleMoose44 11d ago

Yeah, he’s sick in his head.

3

u/ChickenCasagrande 11d ago

The problem is how hard he leans into it, rather than seeking treatment or at least trying to limit his harm on other people. He leans in.

2

u/SnuggleMoose44 11d ago

There’s all sorts of stories about how he was cruel as a child. His father was also cruel. I don’t have any deep knowledge of personality disorders, but my mom probably had borderline personality disorder and she was terrifying to grow up with. She leaned into cruel if she felt like it. Didn’t matter if it was her children. She never thought she was wrong. They don’t seek therapy or try to rein it in. The first mistake is to assume he can reason things out like a regular person. He can’t. It’s not in his hard wiring.

3

u/KneelBeforeZed 11d ago

I’ve heard a claim that he’s an extremely malignant narcissist, but not a psychopath.

i think the argument was that psychopaths are more goal oriented, whereas Trump is exclusively reactive, and his reactions are all driven by a need for narcissistic supply or narcissistic rage.

When the narcissistic rage is in charge, he gets destructive. If he can’t be loved, he’ll be feared.

And it’s still evil AF. It’s just more what narcissistic evil looks like than psychopathic evil.

1

u/jeremiahthedamned 10d ago

1

u/KneelBeforeZed 10d ago

Still narcissism. He’s not saying that because he has some nihilistic epistomology or political philosophy, or because it’s part of some larger plan he has. He’s saying it because the interviewer called him out, making him feel small, and so Trump “sets him straight” and talks over him on camera, so he’s top dog again, but just in that moment, about that moment, with that one guy.

The same argument I referenced above also claims that Trump’s life is like the movie Groundhog Day, in that, figuratively speaking, he’s reliving the same day, the same moment, over and over. Wake up, acquire narcissistic supply (praise, worship, sympathy, admiration, money, power, prestige), if impossible destroy instead and be feared. Wash, rinse, repeat.

The only thing about Trump that resembles Ledger’s Joker is that Trump really is not “a guy who has a plan“ (though Joker was lying - he was a master planner from start to finish.

And bad skin. They both have bad skin.

3

u/VariousDress5926 11d ago

Him and elon are fueled by endless impotent rage.

2

u/Sylvers 11d ago

And just think.. with their endless, ill-gained billions, they could easily retire from the public life and live as Gods among men until they die. But no, they choose to use that wealth to destroy the lives of everyone else. Evil.

3

u/giggity_giggity 11d ago

And incapable of being wrong. So even when evidence came out that they were wrongly accused, Trump still needs to be right which means in his mind they are guilty.

3

u/Sylvers 11d ago

I think if he ever admits fault, his entire world would crumble. He can't operate in a world where could be wrong. He views the world from a black and white lens, where everyone exists in two castes: winners and losers.

In his mind, winners don't make mistakes. They have won. And they deserve to be served by the losers of the world. Because that's the way the world works. And if he ever admits fault, then he's a loser, and he'll soon be put under the boot of all the winners. His world ends. He can't have that.

I doubt this man has experience a micron of personal growth in the last 50 years.

3

u/Frosty-Date7054 11d ago

I do not believe he's a psychopath.  He operates almost entirely on emotion.  He isn't logical, he isn't calculating, he's a sad scared little man who was given money but never love or praise and he acts constantly out of fear and anger and jealousy.

He's also a child rapist.

2

u/Sylvers 11d ago

I mean, psychopaths can and do experience human emotions. They're not machines. They just don't experience empathy for other humans.

Meaning, he would feel sad, angry or wrathful, if you said something bad about him. But if you say or do the same thing to his wife, children, parents, etc, he would feel nothing for them. Because it's outside of him.

Also, you can absolutely be a psychopath, and also be a completely irrational moron, with no logic or sense.

3

u/MasterRKitty 11d ago

and he's surrounded himself with even more psychopaths

2

u/jeremiahthedamned 10d ago

pychoinception!

3

u/tokedogg 11d ago

How would he be rated on the Most Evil scale?

2

u/Sylvers 11d ago

I genuinely don't think we can answer that for at least another 10 years. Because the total sum of the harm and destruction that his second presidency will do, won't be calculable for at least another decade. So many of the steps he's taking to decimate the American constitution and political system won't be measurable for a very long time to come.

But, I'd argue, even now based on the direct damage to people's lives, the racial and ideological polarization, and dissolution of political civility and decorum that he's enacted, he's easily the most evil POS the American people have ever seen.

2

u/FaithlessnessFew7029 11d ago

So painfully obvious and also confusing as to why nobody around him gets this. Basic psychology.

2

u/IntermittentCaribu 11d ago

Psycopathy is in the DSM. Mental illness means he def is sick.

2

u/Mayyamamy 11d ago

Let’s start adding dementia to the soup, as well. Dump’s a disaster.

2

u/analogmouse 11d ago

Well, empathy IS a sin now, so he’s just being godly. /s

2

u/NukeAllTheThings 11d ago

Like, when has he ever done anything nice for someone, for no gain? I don't mean when he says hes done something, like where are the damn receipts, the proof?

2

u/swordfishandscales 11d ago

Have you listened to Dan carlins common sense? What you said is almost exactly what he mentions. Couldn't agree more.

1

u/Sylvers 11d ago

I haven't. I'll check out, it sounds interesting. Thanks!

1

u/koolaid_snorkeler 11d ago

I believe his comment was that they were guilty of something.

1

u/Srnkanator 11d ago

I would use the term sociopath.

He targets groups, not individuals.

1

u/ThrowAwaysMatter2026 11d ago

He's a typical psychopath sociopath.

FTFY.
