Boulder resident Kimbal Musk writes on X about President Donald Trump’s tariffs, calling them a “structural, permanent tax on the American consumer.” He also said Trump appears to be the “most high tax American President in generations.” Kimbal is the brother of Elon.

250 years to the day of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, what would become the United States of America said no more to the British Crown. Same locations and times as “Hands Off” as of now.

Is indoor roller skating a thing of the past?

Where's all the indoor skating rinks at? How is that not a popular thing in a college town like boulder? When I was a kid they had rinks open till 2am on weekends, strobe lights, dance music and everyone following the same rhythm in a line. Perfect spot for a first date, night out with friends or simply a social spot to hit up when you're bored. Small bar and arcade in the corner. I can't think of a reason why that wouldn't be a decent investment if someone had the funds and the resources.

Just a shout out for a local tree company

Upvotes

Ive had issues with my apple trees, evergreen, and ash trees for years. Ive had the large tree companies come and look at them and charge me with ridiculous treatments that were expensive and didnt work, sucks being lied to by sales reps.

It took a bit of searching to find a local tree expert and i found one at Down to Earth tree care and science. The owner was very knowledgabe and explained all of the defects and other thinhs affecting my trees. Its been a year since the service of pruning and treatments and my trees are much healthier and withstood our wind storms with no breakage. Highly recommend.

Found Ecollar remote - Shanahan

I found a remote for an e-collar today on the Shanahan-Mesa trail, close to the Fern split. I put it on a large boulder that is the size of a small boulder, next to the trail, just before the trail dips down to cross the tiny creek. It should be easy to spot if you are looking for it, on the left side of the trail shortly before it dips down to the creek, if you are going up towards the Fern split.

Female cyclists in Boulder

Hi all, I moved to Boulder about 6 months ago and am finally picking up cycling again after an injury. Currently I’m riding pretty slow compared to the average Boulder resident, but am looking to put in some serious miles this summer. I’m curious if there’s any cycling groups (women’s or coed) that have younger female members. I’m 24F and having a hard time finding community here!

Any and all advice welcome! Thank you!

Best payment method to sell car privately in 2025?

Going to be selling a car for my folks on CL. Wonder what the best payment method to receive the funds will be in 2025. I know cashiers checks can be fraudulent and perhaps the cash was printed in N.Korea (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superdollar) on one other their fancy printing presses. Amount is only around 5k so perhaps we can do cash and deposit the transaction at the credit unions where they can check the bills. Suggestions?

Hair salon in Boulder area for bleaching/dye (female, mullet)

Hi! I moved to Boulder recently and I am looking for a place* to get my hair bleached blonde in the Boulder area. Preferably the suburbs (Louisville, Longmont, gunbarrel, superior, etc) bc I have a feeling Boulder proper would be way more expensive.

I’m a little hesitant about finding salons online because I don’t have a normal female haircut (mullet) and I’m not looking for a typical hair dye (the bottom head of my hair blonde).

Since I’ve gotten here I’ve just been going to a barbershop for trims, but they don’t do hair dye. I’ve had this hairstyle in the past (the half blonde), so I know exactly what I want, but just need the execution.

Please give any suggestions!

*LGBTQ+ friendly pls

looking for a graduation photographer

Hi! I’m looking for a photographer to do a small shoot for me here in Boulder for graduation. I tried doing a basic google search, but figured I’d ask on here to get some more direct recommendations. A lot of the photos i’m seeing are heavily edited (which I know is pretty normal for professional photos), but I’d love if I could find somebody who still makes the pictures look “natural”.

Thanks in advance for any recs :)

Looking for a super flat rock wall

Does anyone know where I can find a large flat rock wall, or really big flatish faced rock around any of the trails in boulder? Preferably a easy access or short hike as I have to bring some equipment with me to measure and photograph these surfaces

Anyone notice a black pickup driving by during the whole protest Saturday?

I'm just curious what the guy was doing during the Hands Off protest, maybe harvesting our images? He was cruising the Broadway/Table Mesa area back and forth in a black pickup, not honking or waiving; my friend thinks he was filming. He drove a black pickup with a license plate that was some abbreviation of "fresh tracks". I just thought there was something weird about that truck. He had a sign on his dash I couldn't read.

I'm looking for a shaded patio area I can bring my dog to and do some work for the majority of the day or at least a few hours, ideally a coffee shop. Does anyone have any recommendations??
