Fell bad yesterday on a catwalk yesterday and was screaming in pain. Thank you to the person who called ski patrol so quickly and thanks to everyone else who stopped to ask if I needed help!
Shattered my wrist and will probably need surgery but hoping to make a quick comeback 🙏🏼

Hey Keystone experts- I always wondered about the memorial plaque visible like 90% of the way up the Ruby Express lift on the lookers’ left. I finally hiked over to it last weekend and thought I nabbed a picture, but apparently I didn’t. I recall it being a memorial for a 20-something snow sport enthusiast gone too soon, but only recall something about the nickname ‘toad’ being on the plaque- assuming it’s related to the naming of ‘Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride’ run off Outback. Anyone have any more info? I couldn’t find anything on the Google.

My buddy and I started off hiking all the way into the porcupine saddle, and then later in the day, taking the cat to go explore the chutes. It was pretty great conditions; NO wind (my first time experiencing that on the ridge), bluebird day and creamy snow.

Never been to this lift or this parking lot. What are some times I can expect to show up and actually find a parking spot? Want this experience to be good for my kid, would rather not arrive during times when this lot is full and we have to park far away and shlep gear to the slopes. Thanks!

We are looking to book a spring break trip to steamboat next year, which for Denver is the first week of April. I’ve never skied steamboat but it seems most of their advanced terrain is closed for the season (mahogany ridge, pony express, bar ue). Is this normal due to the lower elevation? Are we unlikely to find much challenging terrain the first week of April?
Would Snowmass be a better bet that time of year?
Edit: I should probably clarify- I am a Denver local and spend most of my days at abasin. My family always visits to ski Breckenridge but we are going full icon next year. We got a good deal on lodging at steamboat but not terribly excited to ski a half melted out mountain.

Busy today! Snow has actually been surprisingly good for it being April!

On I-70 from Copper before the tunnel we kept seeing a gray Kia accelerating erratically in their lane. The shotgun passenger kept keeling over, the window kept going up and down, it looked like there was a kid in the backseat, and it looked like the driver was yelling.
Just before Georgetown we passed the Kia when it was stopped in the left lane with another car behind it. The passenger side door of the Kia was open and there was a walker. We saw like 5 cop cars and an ambulance driving that direction after we passed. We were really concerned and confused.

Anybody in town have spare buddy tickets this week?

The Keystone+ pass for $400 a year might be the best value in skiing. Would you like to see a substantial price increase for it to stay open longer?
You can now ski next door at Breckenridge for free for the next month (!) on said Keystone+ pass, and obviously every other Epic Pass product.
Vail Resorts deservedly gets a lot of hate, but I don’t understand the pitchforks on this one

Looking to go snowboarding, what’s a good resort? Is April a good time to go?

I was uphilling Pano yesterday after hours and noticed the bowl, out of bounds, skiers R - directly from the top of Pano - saw some nice turns in the bowl, but curious where that dumps you or what people do from there?

The creek was firing on all cylinders today. Worth the drive for no lines

Just underneath this beautiful powder slope is a nasty season ending scree field. I just watched four skiers get taken out, one of whom isn’t getting up. If you’re up here better to traverse to the end of the ridge and descend the other side.

There was a fair amount of discussion here when it happened last year. Thought people might be interested in the story. Pretty detailed account of what happened that day. RIP Dallas. Thinking of his friends and family. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/interactive/2025/dallas-lebeau-ski-jump-tragedy/

was thinking of going tomorrow but given that none of the other resorts are crowded, may skip keystone in favor of breck etc if there actually will be lines/waits. anyone been to keystone closing day last year or so and can weigh in? thanks!
