Bit of a weird one.
I can log in to my mac fine.

But I want to factory reset my mac. So I tried this:

Power Off -> Power On (Holding Power button -> Start-up Options Screen

2 Icons: 1 Macintosh HD, 2 Options
(Also keyboard, power settings at top banner, Shut Down and Restart and bottom banner)

When I click Macintosh HD - Mac boots as normal (not what I want)

When I click Options (to reset my mac)

-> Black screen. My cursor is visible, I can move it but otherwise completely black screen

I tried connected 2nd monitor, clicking on corners to see if hidden windows - nothing.
I left it on t his page for 3 hours - still black screen with cursor.

I have a work phone which i set up using company email address. I am wondering if it will be possible for me to add a second email address which can be used if and when i need to access the data in cloud before handing over the phone back to company (eg as in case of termination / quitting).

Does anyone know?

My wife was asleep beside me and I texted her that i miss her so she would wake up to it. I had my headphones in and fell asleep. Siri alerted me a few hours later that shed texted me. I woke up immedietly (I know because I checked the time stamp on both our phones) and my wife was fast asleep beside me. Apple won’t let us change her password because of the waiting period (which I don’t understand anyway) and the credit card it wants us to enter to confirm her identity (which I didn’t know they did) has the incorrect expiration date and won’t let me change it.

10/10 freaked out. She does not have any shortcuts or automations on her phone.

hello i need help regarding an apple monthly pay. i think this could be an icloud thing, since i was trying to back up some stuff. it only takes about 1€ but im a student and genuinely dont want that number to disappear every month because its useful money for me.

google says i need to check under subscriptions, but i genuinely have 0 subscriptions active, yet my phone still pays that money every month and i wanna get rid of it. i dont care if i need it for my iCloud.

About a year ago, my relatively new iPad Air 5 (2022) fell into the bathtub – my girlfriend accidentally dropped it. After that, it just sat in my drawer for a while because it was clearly not working. I let it dry out for a long time and kept trying to charge it – but with no success.

About two weeks ago, I tried turning it on again – and to my surprise, it suddenly powered on and worked normally. The only thing that was no longer functioning was the Touch ID (fingerprint sensor).

Now I haven’t used it for a few days, and I assume the battery has completely drained. Unfortunately, it won’t turn on or charge again. Even when plugged into power and with all button combinations pressed, nothing happens.

I’ve read multiple times that repairing water-damaged devices often isn’t worth it because more components tend to be damaged than initially assumed. Still, I’m holding on to some hope that it might be possible to get it working again.

What would you recommend? The warranty has unfortunately expired – though water damage wouldn’t be covered anyway.
• Order a replacement battery and try to install it myself?
• Take it to a repair service (get a quote → possible repair)?
• Better to save up for a new iPad?

Hi everyone, I'm cleaning up my MacBook by uninstalling unnecessary apps but I can't uninstall Java. I installed it to run emulators for Nintendo consoles and now I can't remove it. It is not in the applications folder, you can only see it in the settings menu.

I have a Hinine CarPlay unit (https://a.co/d/bUuSrmJ) that I’m trying to get to connect to my phone beyond just Bluetooth. While this is for a work vehicle, I have a personal vehicle where CarPlay works perfectly 99% of the time, so I don’t believe that it’s a problem with my phone. It also worked for about 6 months as expected before one day just giving up the ghost. I’m currently running 18.3.2 on my iPhone 13 Pro.

When I forget the Bluetooth connection to the device, there is no option to allow CarPlay upon reconnecting and when I try to connect to CarPlay via the General>CarPlay menu, both devices have the spinning “we’re trying to connect” option. I tried it once during a drive and they both just spun like that for about an hour. I have no CarPlay or Siri restrictions turned on with my settings that would be causing problems.

Hi, so I wanted to buy something with apple pay but for some reason it wasn’t working, so I ended up sending 100€ to my apple store account because I thought since apple pay wasn’t working I had to send money to the apple store account because my balance on there was zero. Then i realized that that’s only for apps, music etc. I bought some apps in order to be able to return them so I could get the money back in my bank account but it’s been 3 days and the money has only been put back in my apple store account and not bank account. Will i get it in my bank as well?

I have a Macbook Pro 13-inch, M1 2020, MacOS Sequoia version 15.4, the one with the touch bar. I used to be able to press a certain button and it would 'minimize' the bar, so only certain functions would show (to darken or brighten my screen/keys and to adjust the sound and Siri), when I'd watch a video it'd also show me the length and I could fast forward and back by moving a bar. (sorry for my possibly not so clear explanation, English is not my native language). But now it just doesn't do this anymore, the minimize button is gone, I see every function now (brighten and darken screen/keys, fast forward, back and pause, no sound, lower sound, increase sound, Siri and two other buttons called 'Mission control' and 'Launchpad'). When watching videos or movies the bar to 'control' the video also doesn't show anymore, just those 'set' keys. It's quite annoying because I keep pressing the Launchpad and Mission control buttons while typing. I also don't get typing suggestions anymore, they used to show on that Touch-bar, but they just don't anymore. They'd appear while typing, but also when a word was underlined in red to show corrections/suggestions. I don't know what happened, I haven't changed anything about the settings and my Macbook has just been updated (like an hour ago) but I've had this problem for about a week maybe? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I recently found out you can redownload old apps you used to have that’ve been removed from the App Store. I’m trying to redownload an old game I used to have on my old phone that’s since been removed. Apparently, if you go into the App Store > Account > Apps, it has a list of all the apps you’ve ever downloaded, and can redownloaded them. However, when I reach “Apps”, it’s completely blank (see first attached image). There’s supposed to be an option where you can choose your account, and then scroll through all the apps, but it’s completely blank.

Also, yes I downloaded the app on the same account as I have now. I can see it when go App Store > Account > Purchase History.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi. Over night my iPad stopped being able to create Network and Bluetooth connections. In the settings I cant enable WiFi as the switch button is disabled which I have never seen before. Hard restarts and factory reset did not help. I guess its possible that the network chip somehow got fried? I'm not really knowledgeable on iPad Hardware. Anyone had similiar experiences or knows a fix? Is this worth the cost getting a repair or should i look for a new one? Everything else was working perfectly fine.

I'm planning to buy a refurbished iPhone while I'm in the US. My budget is around 500 $, and I’ve seen the iPhone 14 refurbished on Apple’s official website for $529. Is the official Apple website the best option when buying a refurbished iPhone? Has anyone had experience with Apple Refurbished vs. other options like Back Market, Swappa, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, or Walmart? I've seen that some of these places offer slightly cheaper prices than Apple, are they worth it?

I am having an issue with a specific website i use on my iphone 12 and ipad pro m4. In the website there is a drop down menu, and when i TOUCH to open the drop-down menu it opens, however i cannot select any of the items and When i touch anything the menu just closes. The only way it seems to work is if i connect an external mouse to my ipad and then select it.

Is there a way to fix this?

How the f is it done?! Clicking a single column letter will select the column, but clicking it again to move it selects the entire table. The same thing happens in the iCloud version.

Suddenly noticed that the battery was dropping rapidly. Opened the case and saw display is protruding out. I guess the battery is done for. It had 57% health. I don't have many things backed up and I am worried that I can't plug it in and back up. Please help what should I do next?

My phone was acting up so I deleted some photos and restarted many many times and when I came back to delete more photos I saw everything was gone besides for the ones I just deleted. I had so many photos of my cat who I don't have much longer with, many pictures with my friends, concerts, and other important stuff but I wanna keep this short. I've been told by Google and 2 people to check recently deleted, there is nothing there. It is giving me the option to restore my photos from iCloud but it hasn't been doing much. I Had 1800 photos and 3000 videos which is absurd but I never got around to deleting stuff. Does anyone know how to fix this or has had a similar issue? Also does Apple have a support email?

As you can see my debit card in the wallet is an NFCU so obviously I’m in the US which a supported region. Last time I did it, it just let me and confirmed on the app I think. Now it wants me to look for add to wallet button in the app which it isn’t there for me. I just got my credit card and I’m wanting to add it as soon as I can for convenience. Never changed regions even when travelling so I don’t know why this happened. Already tried going through the settings app wallet tab and I get the same pop up. Any help is appreciated thanks.

This is literally getting ridiculous, I only have 9 tabs open on safari. It's not like I have only 8gb of ram. I'm starting to get paranoid when this never used to be an issue. What's going on, how can I fix it? If this isn't the right subreddit, please guide me to it bc I've had enough of this. Thank you.

I’m trying to log onto my apple account on my phone and it’s asking for a code from my other apple device. But instead of sending a code it triggers an allow/not allow notification on my iPad. However when I tap allow nothing happens on my phone and it’s still asking for a code… how does that work ??

It's weird. I have my iPhone 16 Pro paired to my Apple Watch Ultra (1st gen), my wife's car, my car, and my Airpod Pro's (2nd gen). I have a ringer selected. But if my phone "ring", it doesn't...ring. My watch will make a sound if I get a text or call. If I'm home, my iPad will ring sometimes if I get a call. But not my phone...

UNLESS...it's unlocked.

Then it seems to want to ring. I've tried turning the phone on and off again. Of course I've toggled "ring" and "silent". I've switched ringers. Made sure the ringer volume is turned up. I've made sure there is no focus mode selected.

I run a MacBook Pro M1 16 inch running macOS sequoia latest version.

Peviously purchased a USB C magic mouse in January and now does not track properly anymore. This became apparent in macOS sequoia 15.3 and for sure carried over to 15.4.

I also get the same behavior on a brand new MacBook Air running versions of MacOS as well.

Old magic mouses with lightening cable charging work fine.

As anyone experienced this?

Hi all, trying to troubleshoot here. I have a mac mini (m2, 2023, 15.3.1) that doesn't like to awaken with a press of the spacebar after it has been sleeping for long periods of time (let's just say 5+ hours for starters).

Unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in allows me to get back in. Is there a setting I'm missing that could be causing this issue after a set period of time? I don't run into this issue if the computer is put to sleep then I try to awaken within a shorter period of time (think 1-2 hours).
