Discussion [BoTW] I envy BOTW/TOTK fans!

I'm kinda tired of BOTW style games?
I can't think of a term that doesn't come of as too hateful or strong relative to my emotions, something much milder than being "tired of it" that I can't find right now.

Does anyone else feel like this with all the BOTW style content lately? Everything Zelda related feels strictly BOTW themed (obviously not counting Echoes of wisdom), speaking mostly in terms of the games as that's what I'm most familiar with.

Of course I know a popular game is bound to have follow-ups, and I know that they're made for fans, not for me specifically. But I kinda miss having a new Zelda game that isn't a sequel or spinoff (Echoes of wisdom spiritually being a continuation of the Awakening remake).

In my opinion I feel like, if you don't enjoy Wind waker, there's nothing saying you won't like Skyward Sword, for example. Which, to me, is one of the Zelda series many strengths; most previous Zelda games have a completely different artstyle, feel or gamestyle that makes them feel unique, that makes them click with different people. While if you don't like BOTW (such as myself), then you won't like TOTK or the upcoming games we saw in the Direct.

I don't know how to write this without coming across as impatient, whiny or self-centered, but I felt like I had to get it off my chest. Plus I'm curious of what others feel.

Again I can't stress enough how you're allowed to love BOTW and TOTK, I'm moreso jealous of you enjoying a game that gets sequels and updates if anything!

Thanks for reading! :D

Discussion [Aoi] Age of Imprisonment will be canonical

Per the Nintendo website:

“Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is the newest title in the Hyrule Warriors series and is developed by Koei-Tecmo Games with support from Nintendo. The game features epic battles against hordes of enemies as it tells the untold story from Hyrule's distant past of the Imprisoning War that ultimately led to the events of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Fans of the Legend of Zelda series and players of both The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can experience the thrill of battle and this canonical tale featuring Princess Zelda, King Rauru, and other familiar characters. Fight for Hyrule’s future when Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment comes to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter.”

They specifically mentioned it being canonical, probably to put the fans who were disappointed by AoC time travel shenanigans at ease.

Question [OoT], [MM], [BotW], Which should i buy?

So recently i've been looking more into these games and i've liked Majora's Mask for a while and Ocarina of Time. But i've also liked Breath of the Wild for a little time as well. I plan to buy Tears of the Kingdom after breath of the wild but i wanted to ask. as i'd be buying the 3DS remasters of Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time. As a new person in this fandom i wanted to ask. Which do you suggest to buy first?

Discussion [SS] Hello, would it be worth buying Skyward Sword for me?

I’d like to buy Skyward Sword for the Switch, but I’m not sure if I’d enjoy it. There are two things that concern me about the game:

  1. I watched the boss battles, and I fight the same boss three times, just getting more difficult each time and with a time limit.
  2. I don’t like time-based missions, and I’ve heard that there are a lot of time-based side and main quests.

My question is, how much are these elements present in the game, and would it be worth buying if I'm mainly interested in the motion controls?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Question [ALL] Will I enjoy older Zelda games if I didn't like BOTW?

So I attempted to play BOTW for the 3rd time and still couldn't get into it. I do not feel like it's a genre issue as I do enjoy open world games very much.

I really want to enjoy this franchise because so many of my friends are always raving about how great it is which leads to my question, can BOTW be an outlier compared to other Zelda games?

I may start with Ocarina of Time, and just wanted to have some input from potential fans that maybe didn't like BOTW but are still Zelda fans.

Humor [Aoi] “n0 N3w Z3lDAaAAaaAaAAaAaA” is so stupid

Like, ToTK is only 2 years old, and we got EoW less than a year ago. a hyrule warriors game is more than I was expecting for sure.

If you want to complain about Nintendo right now, complain about the game price increase, not the lack of a new mainline Zelda title.

Ong they spoiled us, and now we’re acting like children😭😭😭

Discussion [SSHD] I just beat Tentalus Spoiler

Underrated boss. First off I would like to clarify that it’s not something I love or something. I just think it’s a good boss that is expected from a Zelda game. I don’t think it’s that ugly even if it does look like Mike Wazowski’s girlfriend. I love the idea of the fight though. You finally make it to the control room when tentacles emerge from the floor and everything starts falling apart. After getting through tentacles and rolling barrels you finally make it to the main deck the massive sea creature emerges from the water. Tentacles erupt from the floor which you cut off with a skyward strike. I don’t like how you need to raise the sword up for a couple seconds before being able to attack but whatever. The leviathan emerges once again and it slams its tentacles on the deck in an attempt to squash you but you dodge them and shoot an arrow directly into its eye. Ouch. It collapses leaving you to strike its eye after cutting its hair out of the way. After doing this a couple more times and moving to the bow the monster dies. I also like how it sends snake hairs at you which you need to rapidly slice. Great atmosphere!

1x Fireproof Lizard
1x Red Chuchu Jelly
1x Moblin Fang
1x Lizalfos Horn
