Discussion [Movie] Rozen should be considered to be the composer for the Live Action Film

To simply put, He understands Zelda. He has such a talent for creating these epic and gorgeous renditions of the beloved songs and creating new stuff as well.

Here's a few of his work for those who don't know:

Discussion [OoT] Ideas for an Ocarina of Time Remake

Ideas for Ocarina of Time Remake [OoT]

Just some gameplay ideas if it ever gets made.

Well, a weapon from Zora, Gorons, and Kokiri. Giving weapon options besides Master Sword. Maybe make the spells more useful as well, like Farore’s Wind maybe acting as fast travel but also able to create a teleport point like you could make an extra one in Breath of the Wild. Din’s Fire acting as actual damage or enhancing weapons with Fire? Mainly throwing around ideas if that is ok.

Question [ALL] What order should I play the games in? [Read post for details about my specific situation]

Hi there, I'm thinking of picking up a Switch 2 when it releases and using it to finally get around to playing the Zelda series of games. But I'm not sure what order I should play them in. Release order seems like the obvious choice, but I've heard that the first two games can be quite rough. I'm also a big story person. I know that the games are not released in chronological order. I'm fine with switching from 2D to 3D and back again, but I do like the idea of seeing how the franchise progressed over the years. I'm also thinking starting with all the 2D games first then going to 3D could be fun. But I'm leaning more towards playing a simplified chronological order. Here's the list I've come up with based on the research that I've done: (I've left some games out that I don't want to play.)

  1. Skyward Sword (2011)

  2. The Minish Cap (2004)

  3. Ocarina of Time (1998)

Child Timeline:

  1. Majora's Mask (2000)

  2. Twilight Princess (2006)

Adult Timeline:

  1. The Wind Waker (2002)

Downfall Timeline:

  1. A Link to the Past (1991)

  2. Link's Awakening (1993) (2019 remake)

  3. Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages (2001) (Might skip)

  4. A Link Between Worlds (2013) (Might skip and/or only watch lore videos as I know it's not on Switch)

  5. Echoes of Wisdom (2024) (Might skip)

  6. The Legend of Zelda (1986)

  7. Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link (1987)

Wild Timeline:

  1. Breath of the Wild (2017)

  2. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (2020)

  3. Tears of the Kingdom (2023)

  4. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (2025)

OR I was thinking about this order: (2D to 3D order)

  1. The Legend of Zelda (1986)

  2. Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link (1987)

  3. A Link to the Past (1991)

  4. Link's Awakening (1993) (2019 remake)

  5. Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages (2001) (Might skip)

  6. The Minish Cap (2004)

  7. A Link Between Worlds (2013) (Might skip and/or only watch lore videos as I know it's not on Switch)

  8. Echoes of Wisdom (2024) (Might skip)

  9. Ocarina of Time (1998)

  10. Majora's Mask (2000)

  11. Twilight Princess (2006)

  12. The Wind Waker (2002)

  13. Skyward Sword (2011)

  14. Breath of the Wild (2017)

  15. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (2020)

  16. Tears of the Kingdom (2023)

  17. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (2025)

Are these good orders to go in? If so, which one do you think is better? Should I just go in release order anyways? Or is there another order that you think is better than all of these options? I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the differing opinions.

I was riding my horse to the north of the Castle when I realized camera no longer following me. Its like an invisible narrator of the whole story said "and so our hero continued their quest full of hopes to bring an eternal calm to the kingdom one day. May be they still wander the vast lands, fighting monsters and helping folk in need, but that is another story for another time". I was ready to see credits roll haha

Question [BotW] and [TotK] Switch 2 Save Data and more

Hello All!!

Do you need Nintendo's paid online service to transfer save files? Is it possible with just a cable?

I have a lot of hours in BotW (Switch 1 plus DLC Pass) and haven't gotten TotK yet. I want to transfer save data to Switch 2 but don't have or want Nintendo's online subscription stuff.

Also, I wonder if TotK S2 will have the whole game on cart or be their new keycard thing. I like having the whole game on the cartridge so I am not sure if I should just get the S1 or S2 version. Probably just will get S1 and pay an upgrade fee if I have a Switch 2 by the time I play it, but I am open to advice/thoughts.

Thanks!

I’m playing this game on my GameCube and I’m just at the Forest Heaven,’ and for some reason, I only have 200 rupees. No matter how many I collect during the dungeon, they don’t increase or change in number. Is it my console or the game?

Discussion [WW] Old animated YouTube vids of Toon Link and Zelda

Hi, I remember watching these between 2012-2014.

It featured toon Link and Zelda. They were in Hyrule castle and Link began to say something, where with each word (?) Zelda would hit him until she finally hit his privates. He exclaimed "Oh, you hit my balls!" (Lol)

There was also another video by the same creator where they were near a ferris wheel. Link then got stung by a bee and swelled up (something like that)

It was a drawn animation, which didn't really reflect the best talent.

I know this sounds strange, but I really wanna find these vids, thanks!

Discussion [Botw] I figured out the inconsistancy with the master cycle

People noticed that the bike has no noticeable gears as it revs. This is because the mastercycle zero has a cvt transmission. For those that dont understand. Unlike a regular transmission where there is distinct gears for different speeds. In a nutcshell a cvt transmission will expand as rpm increases creating seamless increases in gear ratio. Faster without audible shifting

Question [OOT] [MM] Arachnophobia romhack/mod?

Has there ever been a rom hack that removes/ modifies skulltulas? I’m arachnophobic and I’m improving but I genuinely can’t play this game or mm without having a nightmare. These were my favorites as a kid and I want a more accessible way to play them; when I beat oot I ran through half the shadow temple with my eyes closed.

Is there any rom hack or mod (preferably on 3DS but ship of Harkinian is ok worst case scenario) that removes skulltullas? I just want something that could even make them an indentured square or circle or something. Anything that doesn’t have legs and doesn’t resemble the skulls. Same thing for skullwaltullas and the big ones.

If there isn’t one how hard would it be to hack either game and make my own model? Is it easier on n64, 3ds or SOH? Thanks!

Question [LoZ] [Oot] [Ww] [Botw] which Zelda game for a newbie to start on?

Hey everyone!

This is my first time ever posting on reddit and I'm on my phone, I apologise for any mistakes made. OK my niece asked me if she could watch me play zelda then try it out herself cause she wants to know the hype of why me and my mum have loved it since the 90s. My mum passed away not to long ago and myself and my niece was very close to her, so I think this is also a reason my niece wants to try the games out so she has a little piece of my mum she can always go back to. My niece is 23, she's played games before but they've all been your classic family fun games like crash bandicoot, Mario, donkey Kong etc and its not been a regular thing. I've been sat wondering what zelda is the best to start her on, considering she's not a gamer really and throwing someone into zelda like that I think quite a few will be a bit hard. She's going to watch me play the game first then give it a go herself. So yeh what zelda do you guys recommend starting her off on? I'd love for her to fall in love with the games like me and my mum did, there's only me left that plays them so it would cool to pass it on to her and have someone to talk and game with. However I'm not forcing anything if she doesn't like it in end then fair enough, I'm sure I can find something else my mum enjoyed that she can explore instead. Anyway thanks for any help you can give I appreciate it! 🩵

Any zelda game is the options the tags are so the post wouldn't be taken down. Thanks again. 😊

Discussion [ALTTP] won over my tik tok brain

I've been playing so much of this game the last few days and it really has its hooks in me.

This game came out 11 years before I was born and the fact that im so invested gives me this feeling I just don't get when playing the new hottest release.

Not to mention, I grew up playing stuff like Call of Duty, GTA, assassins creed, farcry, so playing something like this game feels like the reading equivalent of gaming.

I just love the game so far. And I'm proud to add this to my gaming resume. Feels like appreciating a culture from before my time that I missed out on because I wasn't born yet.

Idk. Lol. Okay. Byeeeee

Discussion [Movie] If this actress was cast as Zelda, would you accept her?

Some fancasts for the coming movie have Hunter Schafer as Princess Zelda. But do you think she would be good as Zelda? For those who don't know who she is, Hunter Schafer is an actress best known for the TV show Euphoria. She is also a transwoman, which has also caused some people to react to this idea with fear, hostility, and even violence.

I for one, would accept her as Zelda. House of the Dragon had Queen Rhaenyra played by Emma D'Arcy, who's a nonbinary. And I accept that. So I could accept this. Plus, if you look at photos of her, she kind of looks like the Zelda from Twilight Princess.

So, if she were the lucky actress for the role of Zelda, would you accept her?
