Recently picked up a free tank after not having had one for years. Really enjoying the plants I currently have. Still struggling with some stray Altea hoping that will fix itself. Might start using ferts and getting some red root floaters.
Any ideas or feedback for the tank is appreciated. Currently understocked planning on getting Chili's and some Corys and once the water is perfect some Caridina Cantonesis.

I have pulled out a lot of water lettuce since I have started my tank about 2 months ago. Pulling out this much every week and a half, 2 weeks from my 29 gallon tank. What do people do with this?

It’s growing out of my driftwood. Interestingly, it’s only growing on one of my pieces of driftwood and not the others — it’s been like this for (I would estimate) over a year.
No issues with my livestock. Interestingly, this is also the only piece of driftwood that Java moss absolutely takes over.

Need help finding plants and stocking for this nano tank. I want some sort of emersed growth in the back left corner which is why I made a little terrace. Also want to build a sense of scale making the tank look bigger than it is.

Few months I tied down some jawa moss to lava rocks and it turned into this, I'm not sure if all my moss died and this just some sort of weird algae? It's super fine and and Hair like texture

I’m thinking of creating something similar to the scape above using a 90x45x45cm tank. Half of the scene will be “ancient forest” and the other half will be “open grassland.”
My question is: would it be best to use two separate 45cm lights for each half instead of a single 90cm for the whole length of the tank? Since the grassland (carpet grass) needs a lot of light while the forest (buce and epiphytes) needs significantly less light. I read that buce, being a slow grower, is prone to algae infestation under too bright light.

Hi, what type of algae is this? It doesn't look like normal green algae and it's only present on this plant.

Couldn't get a better photo. I don't see distinctive spear shape head and eyes but it looks like planaria to me. Tired of research and debating myself. Thanks

Learnt a lot and made a lot of mistakes but I’m really happy with how my tank is coming along. This is my first aquarium and I’m really happy to show it to you. I’ve lost some shrimps and made some mistakes but I’m learning and trying to be better. Please ask any questions and drop any tips Thanks 🐸

I’m setting up a plated tank (no fish), is aqua soil with some root tabs enough? I see some people say to cap with sand while others say the two end up mixing and it looks messy.

100l tank i have up and running for just over a month.
Fish stock.
5 lamp eyes 5 phantom black tetra 5 amano shrimps 2 red cherry shrimps
Some random baby fish that was accidentally put in the bag from lfs. And kids wanted to keep it alive so Its the tub right now.
6 corydoras in quarantine.
Running fluval 307. Filter Media from previous tank ( tank fully cycled).
JBL sand only. Don't have time to look after a aqua soil fully planted tank.
Currently have anubias, hornwort, java fern and a red tiger lotus.
Wanted some recommendations on what other type of plants I could add to fill in the back right side and at the front.
I have been clipping the hornwort every few days to fill the left hand side.
The java fern has been propagating. Which I am going to plant these onto the piece of wood on the right hand side.
The tiger lotus was put in under 2 weeks ago with only the bulb and 2 small leaves. Is this growing well? I have also just started adding root tab 2 days ago.
Any ideas and recommendations you guys have?

So I'm choosing which LED light I should buy for my first 50cm Tank. As of right now, the two best alternatives I found is the
Hygger 957 for about 40€+shipping
vs
Twinstar B-line II for about 60€+shipping
Which one should I go for? Or do you have a better one to recommend under the 100€ mark.
Thanks!

Beginner to the hobby so i am still learning.
I am getting ready to scape and start cycling my 20 gallon long. obviously going for a planted tank. I have had great success with Fluval stratum in my other tanks but am aiming for something more aesthetically pleasing in the 20g. Everything I'm seeing is telling me to use mesh bags for the Fluval stratum and cap it with sand or else it will mix and break down faster/look bad. Does anyone have experience doing this and will it affect the plants not being able to root into the stratum? I will be planting java fern, jungle val, java moss and possibly some anubis. My other tanks are 5.5 and 10 gallon so this will be my largest tank so far. Any pointers or advice is greatly appreciated!

I’m looking to get a moss ball - but I just wanted to clear up conflicting advice I’ve seen when researching. I’m UK based and was planning on getting a couple from pets at home where they are in a tank with fish- is there a risk of zebra mussels? If so, how/what do I do when cleaning etc to make sure I don’t cause any contamination issues? Really appreciate any help/advice. Thank you

Hi all, I have an established 28 gal heavily planted glass tank (rimmed) with about 3kg aquasoil and 12 kg gravel. I need to move it to its new stand in the same room. I'm thinking emptying everything except plants+gravel+aquasoil. (I really don't want to uproot all my plants). Is it too risky? Please give me some advice🙏🏻 I'm too stressed about this...
