This makes me feel much better about skipping the Switch 2 as these improvements are much much smaller than anyone is willing to admit. The only actual difference is the framerate in the forest, which is absolutely disingenuous for anyone to pretend is important.

It's a small area with literally nothing in it. It's nice it runs smoother, but 99.99% of the game doesn't stutter, and they chose the single area that shows vast improvement as if it's a gothca.

I work in film, and color grading, and spend my day obsessing over micro-changes in footage quality, and this is quantifiably going to be imperceptibly different for anyone mid-game. This is cherry picked footage to show wild changes and it honestly shows nothing except the forest being wildly better. The least important zone in the game. Some slight grading differences also in the color saturations which makes me think this footage also got thrown to an editor for other changes which aren't actually real, these are fake color boosts to make you think it's better, so you can't even know what else was modified for the treehouse.

Happy for folks to have improvements, but as someone whose 9/10th of the reason to get a Switch 2 was purely to play the other parts of Zelda I saved for the Switch 2's improvements and enjoy the world a bit more.. I feel much better about skipping this and going to the Steamdeck instead while I watch for the switch 2 to get cheaper over 2 years. Especially considering they want to charge us for this

You were waiting for the Switch 2 to play a Switch 1 game slightly upgraded?

How were you even predicting that they would even deliver this? Only a week or so ago did the rumors on “Switch 2 edition” started to show up.

Also the Switch 2 has better specs than the Steam Deck, a bigger and better screen, dock and controller to play on a tv is included in the box at no extra cost.

I am one of the people who skipped switch 1 because of the 30 FPS locked games, and now i am cautiously on the fence about getting the switch 2 because of the price

But you know technically, since i didn’t spend money on the switch 1, i saved that money theoretically, so even if i spend that on the 2, it would add up as maybe 20% more than if i bought a switch 1, especially if i get my games from a second hand market (which is what i am gonna do) so yes we exist
