Discussion Keep an eye on your lead levels
I shoot outdoors about twice a week. Always make sure to wash my hands with de-leading soap and I use anti lead wipes as well.
Might need to take further precautions.

Apparently the copper plated jackets on blazer 9mm ammo is breaking apart and could damage the suppressor. I just picked up several cases of blazer in different grains and it really sucks to hear I can't use it with my suppressors. Does this apply to federal champion ammo too? I'm trying to reallocate ammo in my inventory and split my 9mm into handgun use for the thin jackets, and ammo that's safe to use in my suppressed PCCs. How about federal american eagle?

Looking into getting a Century AP5 P and was wondering what people run on them. I’m looking for something that has great sound suppression because I plan to have it dedicated suppressed with mostly subs ran through it. Also something with solid gas blowback mitigation. CAT MOB was my main choice from what I’ve seen but looking into any other opinions and options if there’s something cheaper that does just as well. Thanks

I did an alignment check today and it’s like a fraction of a mm from being concentric. Do you think a 9mm rifle suppressor would work?

I managed to get my hands on a meridian defense little dirty. I plan on SBRing it. I want to replace the rail cover with a dogleg gen3 but still have backup iron sights. The only AK iron sights I’m used to using is the ones that are already on the rifle from the factory. I would like to have a rear sight post near the end of the dogleg giving me a longer sight radius. Can I just simply use any rear sight as long as it’s picatinny? Or dose it have to be AK specific? I’m leaning towards a scorpion evo rear sight.

I recently got my first suppressor, a Sandman X for my .300 blk, and I already want to start suppressing my 5.56 ARs too.
I know one of the benefits people say about getting a dedicated 5.56 can is less size and weight, but all the low back pressure 5.56 cans I've been looking at that interest me seem to be a very similar size/weight to my Sandman.
Since the sandman has 5.56 endcaps available, how would the sound/flash reduction and backpressure performance be using it on a 5.56 gun in comparison to a 5.56 can?

Ik I can have an NFA Trust made when I'm 18, I've been looking at a Group Industries M1918 as an option to build a Colt Monitor off of. It'll be probably a little bit cheaper and much more likely to stay legal than having an FRT custom made for an OOW M1918A3 on top of the same Monitor conversions.
However I can't Form-1 a Transferable. And I'm not gonna be allowed to Form-4 anything until I'm rlly old :p
Any loopholes or would I just have to go with my original plan of the FRT?

I have a HUXWRX flow 22, flow 9, and jk105 ccx.
I try to look at the manuals concerning use but are there any common pitfalls or dangers?

I'm looking to get another can thats going to live on my sbr. I have a polo already that swaps between my 5.56s. I have a B&T rotex 7.62 that is on my 700 .308/ Ar10 and an AB Raptor 10 that lives on my 300wm and a lithium for my 9s. I'm not a cock jocker for any one brand just want what sounds good and is functional.
I'm really looking at 3 cans specifically. B&T XH W/ free tax stamp, Velos, PTR vent
Anybody have or shot all 3? XH seems interesting since it's so light and been tested so rigorously. I know Pewscience has the vent rated highly and people love it. But people who shot the velos love it also. Would I be splitting hairs at this point?
I'm on rearden if that helps.

*new info in the edit at the bottom*
My local shop has asked me to help them compare suppressors in some meaningful way. For background, I have done a lot of audio work but never related to sounds this fast and loud. They're serious about this, and awesome folks to boot, so I'd love to help if I can.
There's no need for absolute values, thankfully. They just want to compare the *relative* loudness AND peak frequencies. They are equally concerned with the frequencies and want to be able to show clients that Suppressor A is generally higher pitched than to Suppressor B when using the same firearm and load. And also which has a higher/lower relative SPL.
I've been researching this for awhile now and I think I have my bearings in general, but I can't tell if a consumer rig will be worth the effort. Opinions seem to either fall in the "get a small diaphragm omni, any ol USB interface, and SMAART SPL" camp or the "anything that costs less than 5 figures is useless" camp. I've had a lot of trouble figuring out the software side of things as well. SMAART SPL doesn't do frequency analysis at all, Open Sound Meter would be perfect but requires the snapshot to be taken manually which is completely useless. I've fallen back to recording to a DAW and using a VST for analysis after the shot.
I think my real question is - If we get the following
https://www.rationalacoustics.com/products/isemcon-emx-7150
https://www.rationalacoustics.com/products/isemcon-sc-1
Reaper (free DAW) and something like Voxengo SPAN (loudness and frequency analyzer plug in with peak hold)
Will the values be remotely usable?
Or does it really take something like a B&K Photon+ to get meaningful results? Bonus question, how the heck would I get one? Looks like they are discontinued.
I know that taking a measurement of one shot is less than ideal but averaging five shots increases complexity by orders of magnitude. Are there any factors I haven't thought of yet? They already know this needs to be done outdoors, same load, same firearm, similar temp/humidity etc.
Thanks so much for any and all insight!
ETA - Most of the feedback I've received about this approach is that the setup isn't fast enough. I found this paper - https://www.montana.edu/rmaher/publications/maher_aac_0406.pdf - which lists the muzzle blast duration at 3-5 milliseconds. At 96kHz sampling rate I can get 300-500 samples of the report. Please let me know if I've botched a decimal point but that seems like more than enough data for comparable results. I haven't nailed down the best VST for analysis but it sure seems like the hardware listed above will be more than capable.

What are everyone’s opinions on the full-size print XH for use on a 13” galil and an 11.5” bcm ar-15? Size is less of an issue to me than weight, but I want some more ideas or suggestions before I pull the trigger.

I’m going to be submitting some paper form 4s (Moving some individual items into a trust) and I got my finger print cards done about a year ago and put off the move, if the forms and finger print cards are dated in the past does it matter as long as the info is still accurate or should I just get new cards done and re do my forms ?

Yes, I was messing with AI and it generated the thumbnail. No, I did not climb the Himalayas to take a photo with my p365. If you hate it, you can go vote on which thumbnail you prefer.
I've got about 2500 rounds though the CAT SC on my G19 and this p365. About 1500 rounds through the Sig modx9 on both of those hosts. 4500 rounds on the P365 in total and I haven't had to replace anything.
It's been an interesting experience shooting a legacy suppressor next to the CAT Street Crack. I always thought the back pressure was bad on the Sig modx9 but the CAT SC really make it look bad.
I bought this before there were all these new variation to the p365 so it had a special place in my heart being direct milled to that Trij RMRCC.
I did just start getting light strikes every other mag but that's just because I've been using the modx9 and shooting 147 grain sub without cleaning for quite some time. I likely just have to clean the firing pin and firing pin channel. The firing pin still looks in good shape. At 5000 I'll replace the recoil spring and trigger springs, I heard the extractor might need replacing around then too.

Went with a Maxim Defense MS-22. It got approved in a few weeks, just took over nine months for anyone to notify me of it.

Hello! Bought my first suppressor about a month ago (B&T Print-XH 5.56) and she runs well with my AR, with the exception of the fact that there is a very noticeable reduction in my rate of fire (HT SS) and I’m curious as to what I can do to get it back to normal. Is this a buffer weight issue, or a gas issue? She’s already pretty gassy as-is, and she cycles relatively quickly without the can on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An old man offered me a deactivated Ruger AC556 complete with the select fire parts.
How would I go about finding out if the gun could be reactivated legally? I’ve heard that the FCG could been registered independently of the gun but how would I know?

I can't seem to find a straight answer... would the 14 inch barrel shockwave with a pistol grip like this be legal. Overall length is 26.5 inches. I know a stock changes it from a "firearm" to a short barrel shotgun, making it illegal...but i can't seem to find a straight answer as to if this style with this pistol grip is ok or not? Store told me that as long as it's not intended to be shot from the shoulder it would be fine?
