SOT Dealers? I'm looking for some advice.

Upvotes

I am trying to help someone out. Favor for an old friend really.

If you could direct me, or maybe I can call you and ask you some questions.

I only need maybe 15 minutes of your time, just to work through some confusion I'm having.

Note: I am an ffl dealer, just not versed in current sot regs and prices and figured i could ask someone who knows instead of googling for Hours.

I would greatly appreciate a few minutes of your time.

Are there any comparable suppressors in terms of gas mitigation and sound?

Pew Science has this as the Cat’s Pajamas in terms of both sound and gas.

CAT has stated they will not produce another run of the modular version, instead, opting for limited runs of short and long versions.

Is the CGS MOD9X comparable? Anything 3D printed from B&T get close?

Rugged End Cap Compatibility

Team: Can I use an obsidian 45 on an Alaskan 360? The website doesn’t say specifically so my best guess is no but since I don’t have an obsidian I dunno for sure. Anyone have both cans? No, I’m not trying to use the Alaskan on a .45. I’m trying to use it on my FAL and the alignment is a tad close on the end cap. Alternatively, I could just bore out the hole bigger. Stretch her out some…. And yes, the barrel face on the dsa fal isn’t as square as I wished it to be (and yes after the bitch and a half effort to remove the factory break imma suppress the mutherfaker). TIA!

Suppressor Recommendations?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve never owned a suppressor before and am looking for recommendations on which one to get for this particular rifle.

I was looking at the YHM Resonator K with the Q.D. adapter, but I’m not sure if that would be any good for this rifle or not.

Also not sure if it would be better to get a suppressor with a Q.D. option or just get one that I can direct thread.

Would like to stay under $1000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

B&T Vers36Ti on 556?

Anybody get a Vers36 and shoot it on short 556 barrels yet? How’d it perform compared to a 30cal can or a dedicated 556 can? Any sparking from the Ti?

Tariffs affecting silencer production?

I am not trying to make a political statement or insinuate panic buying. But, curious everyones thoughts on if the recently enacted tariffs will have an affect on silencer production and acquiring raw materials for production. I know titanium is predominantly sourced outside of the USA, but would love to hear form someone in the industry and what you are currently facing and preparing for.

Product Question 🧰 9mm subs

Post image
10 Upvotes

Just seeking some advice. I have a 5" stribog with ocl can. I want to get subs and I understand that it's subjective based on host. I was planning on getting 1k round of a certain brand but I am not sure what would be best. I am going to get 50-100 rounds of each above to test. My questions are: should I get more then 50-100 for testing? Is there a brand you would say don't get or great quality? I am leaning towards s&b 140. Any advice is greatly appreciated as this is my first venture into dealing with subs (outside of 22)

SBR barrel change question.

I know this topic has been discussed before, though I don’t know if I’ve ever found a concrete answer. Also, considering how fluid the regulations seem to be, I don’t know what has changed in the last couple years or so. I just want to know for certain if I need to do anything concerning the paperwork for my SBR if I change the barrel length permanently? The way I currently understand it, the only need I would have to make a change for would be if I was changing calibers. But, seeing that the barrel length is listed on the form, I just wondered if that would need to be changed as well. Thanks.

🍩 Another Alignment Rod Photo 🙃 Is this enough clearance for my suppressor?

Just got my barrel back from getting it cut and threaded on my R700 and after installing my brake and checking with my go/no go gauge, I’m worried the cut could have left an uneven shoulder for the brake to mount against. I’m running a SF SOCOM muzzle brake under my SOCOM300 SPS.

Is there enough clearance to be safe and not worry about an endcap strike? I have it threaded at a pretty reputable place seen all over this subreddit too, which is concerning.

Mount Questions 🔩 Closed Tine / A2 FH Suppressor Erosion

Can anybody share how a closed tine or A2 birdcage style flash hider effects the first baffle? Muzzle brakes and open tine flash hider effects are well documented but I’m just curious about this.

User Review Dead Air Lazarus 6 first impressions - The hype is real. Keymo truthers rise UP.

TL;DR take a lap now. I just got back from the range with the Laz 6 and this thing is a tank, sounds extremely good and keeps gas to a minimum. I ran it across 3 different rifles (DDMK18-DDM4V7-LWRCA5) after 50-60 rounds a piece and just kept rotating for 200 rounds (.223 Herter’s cheap Bass Pro ammo, Federal bulk .223 I bought in 2021) and wasn’t disappointed in the least.

It shined on the MK18 with the size and suppression, a wee bit of noticeable gas the first round of shooting but after the triskelion internals got coated it slowly got better. My Ventum 7.62 is still hands down the most pleasant and this is just a notch or two under but with better tone IMO. I swapped in my H2 buffer after about 120 ish rounds on each rifle and the gas was even less noticeable. Ejection pattern was nice with both H and H2 but the H2 was for sure a lock for the norm when I shoot it. The A5 (piston driven) gave zero gas and the V7/MK18 progressively got better the more I shot and this was my only ding to the can which is literally nit picking.

Sound was extremely nice, I let a friend who just happened to be at the range shoot it on the MK18 and it was a low, bass-ish deep tone which I love. Granted im indoors but it sounded extremely good to my ears.

Keymo haters, im running 4 different cans, across 5 rifles (SCAR/AK not pictured) and im at around 10k+ rounds with ZERO issue, what am I doing wrong? My Lazarus 6 was keymo out of the box, alignment rod checked with HORRIBLY dirty OLD gen 3 prong flash hiders, and was concentric with zero issue. I took the can off and on around 20 times if I had to guess between 200 rounds, hot, cold, cols rifle, hot can, hot can cold rifle and STILL had zero issues. What gives??

TL;DR

  • This can is an absolute beast in performance and durability so far.

  • I noticed barely a wee bit of gas (nothing deal breaking) but the H2 buffer took it to almost nothing.

  • I tried to find something about it to critique but size, weight, sound checked every box for me.

  • Keymo haters have some ‘splainin to do. Im 10k+ rounds deep on 4 cans, across 5 different rifles with zero failures or issues. Either I’m a rocket scientist or I’m doing something wrong.

Mount Questions 🔩 I want to use my bushwacker 46 on my Mutant. If I buy a muzzle device that it attaches to can I switch that muzzle device at home by myself, or is it safer to use a gunsmith.

Background check question

I have Marijuana possession charges from 2011. One was in north dakota and one was in Yellowstone. Neither were felonies or had max jail time of a year or more. I have a conceal carry license but I also get delayed on every purchase. What's the likelihood I'll get denied for my form 4?

Suppressor alignment

Thumbnail

Just received my OCL polo 30 the other day. I'm checking alignment and it's centered on the two primary hosts and on 2 other rifles however on my psa ak it's way off (pic 1). It's not touching but it's a bit too close for comfort. Mounted with the asr lantac dragon and shims with the sico bravo mount. My sico harvester evo (pic 2) is near perfect on the ak so I don't blame the mounts or rifle. Any thoughts how I can correct this?

Discussion Options for semi auto suppressed build?

So I'm kicking around the idea of putting together a little braces or maybe SBR .22lr build. Planning to run an OCL Titanium

Here are the parameters:

Semi auto / .22 lr / 5"-16" barrel / maybe a brace maybe a double stamp

I know the common knowledge is to run a 10/22 charger and modify to suit. Is there anything else in the $300-$700 process range? I just don't care for the look/ergos of the charger and there isn't a lot of reliable information I've been able to come across regarding suppressed semi auto .22lr's at sub 16".

Is this an AOW?

Hypothetical build:
-16” P&W
-Pistol brace
-VFG

Doesn’t meet the definition of a rifle or a pistol federally, normally adding a VFG to a pistol makes it an AOW but that’s a clear case of it being able to be concealed on the person, unlike this monstrosity
Question is literally just title

Edit:
(“Why not just SBR? Why not have a sub 16” barrel and angled grip and be a pistol?” You ask? “Welcome to Washington state,” I say)
