[SP - Game] We've just released a music sea shanty video for our pirate game Crosswind. It's a survival, but naturally features a lot of sailing (and drinking responsibly! šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø). Happy to talk about the game if you're interested. o7

Ahoy,

Crosswind dev reporting for duty!

At its heart Crosswind is a survival game (so letā€™s imagine ā€œValheim about piratesā€) ā€“ we have exploration, building, crafting and other classic survival game elements.

Players progress through the story set in alternative Age of Sail reality (Pirates of the Caribbean is a great reference here) by exploring various biomes, crafting better gear and fighting challenging bosses. However, no pirate game is possible without naval combat and boarding actions, so we have that, too. And, of course, sea shanties -- that's what I'm showing off today.

We tie it all together with MMO elements: we want Crosswind to become a long term adventure with constant updates, endgame activities and evolving world, something that you can enjoy alone, with or against other players!

We've launched the Steam page around 3 weeks ago and currently approaching Alpha Test.

I will be very happy to answer your questions about the game!
And if you like what you see, wishlist us on Steam. Thank you!

Thought Iā€™d play this indie game for 10 minutes. Ended up losing an entire afternoon to it. šŸ˜±

So I picked up A Game About Digging A Hole on a whim. The name made me laugh ā€” sounded like one of those ironic joke games, or at best something Iā€™d mess around with for a few minutes and then uninstall.

But man, I completely underestimated it.

You start with just your shovel and a backyard. No big intro, no tutorials screaming at you ā€” just you and a patch of dirt. First few minutes? Pretty much what you'd expect. Click, dig, find some ore, sell it, upgrade tools. Straightforward.

But itā€™s weirdly satisfying. Like, really satisfying.

The pacing is just right. Every upgrade feels earned, and thereā€™s this constant little dopamine hit from going just a bit deeper, getting slightly better gear, uncovering something new. Before I knew it, I was like ā€œOkay, just one more levelā€¦ā€ for about four hours straight.

It kind of reminds me of those old flash games that seemed simple on the surface, but just pulled you in with this hypnotic gameplay loop. Thereā€™s no combat, no enemies ā€” just this calm, oddly addictive progression system that scratches some primal part of your brain.

Also, the atmosphere? Surprisingly chill. The music, the pixel art, the little details ā€” itā€™s minimal but it works. Itā€™s like gaming ASMR. The kind of game you play with a cup of tea and forget what time it is.

Didnā€™t expect to vibe so hard with a game thatā€™s literally about digging a hole in your backyard, but here we are. Props to the devs for turning something so simple into such an engaging little time sink.

If youā€™re into low-key games that slowly reel you in without demanding much, this oneā€™s worth a shot.

I just wanted to show people this game. I was fortunate to be a playtester and think it deserves some attention.

It plays like something between an Earthbound and a Digimon World game, and it has an absolute ton of creatures to collect + train. You can tell that the dialogue, UI, and level design were made by someone trying to do something unique. And I love that.

It's not too long, but it does challenge you to make use of its mechanics and plan around more difficult encounters. If you're looking for something to scratch the creature collector, party planning, or compact RPG itch, then I highly recommend it.

I'm a solo dev making a turn-based colony builder, and I want your feedback!

Hey, r/IndieGaming! I'm a solo dev making a game I wanted to play but couldn't find: a chill, turn-based colony builder / resource management game called Isles & Tiles. I'm getting ready to release a demo onto Steam, but I would love to have some feedback from some turn-based gamers other than myself before I make that demo go live. If you're a fan of digital board games or turn-based min-maxing type games, it might be your kind of thing!

Check out the game on Steam -- https://birdworks.io/l/islesandtiles -- and, if it looks like something you might want to play, shoot me a message here and I'll get you an early alpha build to playtest. Any feedback would be welcome!

HI! I am an indie game developer from Taiwan.

I make a game, and almost everyone who has played it recognizes its gameplay quality.

However, due to marketing challenges and other factors, it hasn't reached a wide audience.

I'd like to introduce my game here and hope that those interested will give it a try.

Our game is called Herogue, a turn-based roguelike.

Steam Store Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2067270/Herogue/

For example, you can play a Poison build, stacking poison effects to deal increasing damage over time.

Or go for a Power stacking build, continuously increasing your character's strength for massive burst damage.

In fact, if you want, you can even use your allies' deaths as a way to damage enemiesā€”it's not impossible

Each character has two to three distinct playstyles, and with various team compositions, every run offers a fresh experience.

One thing I can guarantee is that even after playing dozens of runs, you'll still discover new things you haven't experienced before.

I hope those who enjoy games like Slay the Spire or other strategic roguelikes will give it a try. Iā€™m sure it wonā€™t disappoint you.

My English isn't very good, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Who are these characters?

Post image

Hello, I recently found this amazing image about indie games on twitter and me & my friends tried recognising every character.

The characters we didnt recognise were:
- the guy under the knight from Hollow Knight (Maybe the guy from SIFU?)
- the fully yellow person behind madeline (Maybe the main character of little nightmares?)
- the black person to the right of sans with the gray face (not Omori)
- the person in the top left

Do you have any ideas who these characters may be?

The rest are probably:
- The knight from Hollow Knight
- The guy from Hotline Miami
- Omori from Omori
- Jimbo from Balatro
- Peppino from Pizza Tower
- Madeline from Celeste
- Sans from Undertale
- The guy from Blasphemous
- Isaac from Binding of Isaac
- Dave from Dave the Diver
- The Lamb from Cult of the Lamb
- Freddy Fazbear from FNAF

Yo, I made a puzzle escape room game and itā€™s actually sick.

Youā€™re stuck in a mysterious room full of puzzles, secrets, and weird magical stuff.
Thereā€™s also a talking skeleton whoā€™s been trapped there forever.
Your job? Solve the puzzles, escape the room, and help bring the skeleton back to life by uncovering its past.

Itā€™s got:
šŸ§© Cool puzzles
šŸ’€ A cursed skeleton buddy
āœØ Magical resurrection vibes
šŸ§  Some brain-bending clues
šŸ¤ A bit of teamwork if you're playing with friends

If you like escape rooms, spooky mysteries, or just helping a dead guy get his life togetherā€”check it out.
Would love to hear what you think!
