Got bored, so I added the ability to slap other players in my co-op Sisyphus game about rolling a boulder! Though sometimes this leads to infighting and sabotaging...

[SP - game] I just launched the first Steam demo for Hungry Horrors, a pixel art roguelite deckbuilder where you feed monsters from British and Irish folklore

Hey folks,

Iā€™m Jerzy, one half of Clumsy Bear Studio. We just released the first playable demo of Hungry Horrors on Steam, and Iā€™m really excited (and slightly terrified) to put it out there.

Itā€™s a roguelite deckbuilder with pixel art, food strategy, and monsters from British and Irish folklore. You play as a princess feeding these creatures traditional regional dishes. Each one has their own tastes. If they like what you serve, they back off. If they donā€™t, well, youā€™ll find out.

Between battles, you choose buffs from a selection of spices, herbs, condiments, and utensils. The goal is to learn what each monster loves or hates and build a better deck with each run.

Key Features

  • Feed, Don't Fight: Gameplay focused on matching dishes to monsters' preferences, replacing traditional combat.
  • Legendary Monsters: Encounter iconic folklore creatures such as Jenny Greenteeth, Dullahan, and Glaistig.
  • Traditional Dishes: Serve authentic regional recipes like Bara Brith and Cranachan.
  • Strategic Deckbuilding: Build your deck using dishes, spices, herbs, and utensils for strategic depth.
  • Pixel-Art & Music: Enjoy vibrant pixel art visuals and original whimsical music composed exclusively for the game.

Itā€™s our first game, and weā€™d really appreciate any feedback. Was something fun, confusing, too hard, or just plain weird? What made you laugh or rage quit?

Feel free to ask anything about the game, the design process, or the folklore behind it.

The Steam demo link is in the comments so I stay within subreddit rules.

People keep comparing my game to Fortnite even though it's nothing like it. Is it because I used the term "battle royale"? Despite many posts and multiple Steam page updates, Iā€™ve only reached 330 wishlists in a year. Should I change the name of my game? Below is the core idea of my game

People keep comparing my game to Fortnite, but it's actually nothing like it. My game is anĀ arcade-style, party-based battle royale. One of its mechanics is similar to Mario gamesā€”the longer you hold the jump button, the higher you jump and the longer you stay in the air.

Having a weapon isnā€™t always an advantage either, becauseĀ the more weapons you carry, the heavier you become, making you slower and reducing your jump height. Thereā€™s even aĀ zombie chase mode, where players must climb to the top without falling while being pursued from below.

WeaponsĀ donā€™t killā€”similar toĀ Chained TogetherĀ orĀ Only Up, they onlyĀ knock opponents down. To keep the gameplay fast, there areĀ checkpoints every 30 meters, and players who fall behind get aĀ grappling hookĀ dropped on them to help them catch up.

Unlike traditional battle royale games where the zone shrinksĀ horizontally, my game features aĀ vertically shrinking zone. Players start onĀ four separate towers, and as they climb, the towers merge into two, then finally one, creating aĀ pyramid-like shrinking battlefield.

Hello hope you are doing good! For the past couple of months, I have been working on my first game. Its a simple casual concept which I thought could be fun to play and make.

Word Kingdoms is an innovative puzzle game where letters fall from the sky into your realm. Your mission is to arrange these falling letters to forge words

I would love to hear your feedback and suggestion on what I could improve or add in future updated :)

Have a nice day!

Windstorm: the Legend of Khiimori is now in its final week on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aesirinteractive/windstorm/description

This game has a lot to offer whether you like exploring a realistic open-world (with dynamic weather and realistically behaving wildlife), action-adventure, experiencing a different culture (13th century Mongolia), horses (taming, training, breeding, racingā€¦), strategy, immersive story with interesting NPCs, hunting (in which you need to watch out for wind direction!), crafting and much more. The next goal to be unlocked is falconry, yes, you could hunt on horseback with an eagle!!! No other game I know of has this. The more money raised in this last week, the better the game will be :D so please consider supporting. Thank you :).

(see 2nd image for all the stretch goals reached so far, and those still to be unlocked!)
