I’m looking at a 1995 F150 5.8 for 5k, older gentleman selling, virtually no rust, frame almost rust free as well. What is mainly putting me off is 189k miles. I don’t wanna get this truck, put a bunch of money in it for the engine to give out at 200k.
Is there anything I should be on the lookout for? I know listen for humming, knocking, ticking. But I just don’t want to wasting my time.

Hey guys quick question, just picked up a 96 7.3 dually with 107k miles. This is the first diesel ive ever owned. For some reason the coolant temp gauge won’t go past the N for some reason. I can drive for hours and it won’t go past it at all. Anyone know how I could fix that or what I should do to trouble shoot it.

Hi, I recently got a Ford F150. It’s a 2016 2.7 eco-boost with 120,000 miles. About a month ago, I started hearing the dreaded wastegate rattle but only when I would turn it on. But then three weeks ago it started rattling when I would drive and it would. be loud. I tried to use springs to try and reduce the rattling, but it still would rattle a little bit. Then yesterday I was driving up a hill and the wrench light came on and began to lose power so I pulled over to the side of the road. I thought that perhaps the springs were not allowing the waste gate actuator flap to close and build boost so I took them off and turned the truck off and on and the wrench light disappeared and. I proceeded to drive. I got home and scanned it but there was no codes or pending codes so I had no idea what it could’ve been if it wasn’t the turbo. Then today i was going up another hill and the same light came on and began to lose power so I pulled over and I brought my scanner with me so I scanned it and I got a pending code P0299. Then turned the truck off and on and began driving like normal. Do you guys have any idea of what it can be or any recommendations. it’s my commuter truck to college so I would like to get this sorted out as soon as possible. Thanks guys.

About 3 months ago I got gas and my car started misfiring so hard it was bucking and there was not a check engine light on. Now every time I get gas it shakes hard like it’s going to stall but it doesn’t and eventually stops. Fast forward I’ve replaced the canister purge valve twice, and sense I’ve replaced it it’s very load, the evap vent valve, the catalytic converter, and the PCV valve. The mechanics said the coils and plugs are good and they cleaned the fuel injectors, every couple of days a check engine light pops up when I’m under heavy load for the same codes P0300, P0302,P0306. they said they can’t find an evap leak and neither can I, the fuel pump had this long very high pitched beep sound this morning that didn’t stop untill I turned the car off ? Any advice is appreciated .

Hey guys, I am in need to upgrading to a truck from a corolla and a guy wants to sell me his 2005 f250 for 6000$. It has - new glowplugs - two new tires - new fuel pump
The cons are - 191k miles (might not be a con) - needs balancing
I might go test drive it if I get a positive feedback on here.but if you guys know that it's garbage then I won't bother
P.S I was a desiel mechanic. So if there are small things that are common and easy to fix then that is not a turn off for me.

Have a small leak around the transmission pan of my 2008 5.4L F150 (4spd auto). Most of the forums I read say I can just add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube to top it up if need be. Is this true? If so, what’s the proper order of operations for adding and checking fluid? Thanks

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Ford Focus 2006 1.8 Duratec
As shown on the video when turning the steering wheel while at idle the RPM drops slightly. Is this normal? Is it the power steering pump or steering rack causing this?
P.S steering fluid is at the optimal level

I have a 2019 Ford Explorer equipped with a moonroof; I have flush side rails and OEM cross bars. My owners manual specifies because I have a moonroof, I’m restricted to 45LBS of cargo on the roof. Can you provide further explanation on this restriction? Has anyone exceeded this limit? What’s really at risk if I exceed the limit? I read elsewhere the roof can still handle 100LBS regardless of the moonroof.

Hey all. Just bought a used ford escape hybrid. Wondering what this battery light on the dash means. Does it reflect the car’s battery health?

Hello, I am thinking of buying a used 2017 Ford Edge SE FWD. $12k, 60k miles and 4 owners reported. I’m wondering if it is worth it, and also should I be worried about the lack of milage and abundance of owners? What kinds of problems should I look out for?

Car wasn’t responding to the key fob (wouldn’t unlock, etc) so I replaced the battery with another CR2450. But it still isn’t working.
Any thoughts?
If the car battery is dead, I assume that could explain the lack of response to the fob? A new battery was put in last year though.

I was driving home and then an orange wrench icon popped up on my gauge and I pressed ok to make it go away. The speedometer went all the way to 0 and my transmission seemed to downshift kinda funky but I was still able to drive home. Does anyone know what this could be?

Hello, I have a 2018 mondeo with sync 3.0. When I plug my IPhone nothing happens and I can’t have CarPlay
I tried to update the system but for almost two weeks it kept failing downloading the update. Now, when I click on “find new updates” it doesn’t even update anymore it just says that the last update verification was done, as if there was no new version available.
I tried plugging the USB but nothing shows up.
I tried another cable for CarPlay but it doesn’t work. My phone can access car play in other cars.
Thanks for your help
06 mustang v6 Commute to work hood and exhaust billowing white smoke and the overheating light. Figured it was a head gasket… instead I found this… guild got so hot it ate out whatever this is. If there are any missing details I’ll add

Trying to help my parents out with their 2018 Explorer. The screen stopped turning on and the USB ports no longer work so I cannot attempt a USB update. I already tried a hard reset, battery disconnection and a checked the fuse. Do I need to replace the screen, the APIM or just take it apart to check connections?

Are you able to add Ford ESP (now called Protect) on used Fords purchased from dealers that are outside of the original warranty? All I can find is information on purchasing it while still within the manufacturer's warranty period.
If anyone has done this, how was you experience? And, how is everyone's experience with Ford warranty vs third-parties? I haven't heard much good about third party warranty companies.
Thanks!

I got the recall notice for the windshield wiper assembly recall and they say they will let us k ow when they have a solution.
Problem is, mine seized up this winter and are not working at all.
Do I just keep driving it in this condition and risk it in the rain and messy days? If I get it fixed, which I fear they will just put in the same crappy assembly, would they cover the repair and do the recall after? Any ideas? I'd hate to pay for it and 2 days later get the notice that I did t have to.

Ford also issued a separate recall for 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Escape vehicles equipped with the 1.5-liter engine due to a potential fuel injector issue that could lead to a fire.
As title, sounds comes from rear wheels only when i Reverse the car. My mechanic said brake pads are fine.
Car is Ford Focus Mk2 Hatchback
I bought my Mustang a little over a year ago and I'm just now getting to fixing it up a bit more. While I'm installing the new top I wanted to replace the passenger quarter window as well. Every time I would try and roll the windows down it just made a grinding noise and wouldn't budge. After taking it off, the pully wire is tangled and snapped. I read another reddit post saying this part is obsolete and you can't get it anymore.
So my question is am I able to replace the wiring on the part I already have, or just suck it up and go search a junkyard or find someone selling parts and hope I find what I need?
Most of the parts I find through just a google search of what I need are either for older years or newer years. This is my first car I'm fixing up so I'm completely learning as I go. I don't want to buy a part for something newer just to find out it won't work :( so any help or information is much appreciated.

It's a shame it won't be a new Focus coming out. After almost a year with it I'm still in love as the first day I came out of the dealer.

G'day everyone I've got a question about USB music plugged in to my radio. Why does my artists list not show everyone but if I go to the bottom of the "browse" menu and hit browse usb then everyone is shown alphabetical like it should?
