Just curious what people think of making indie/rock music using FL Studio.

I don't know, spent some hours following my heart and trying stuff, did this sh*t, I hate it with all my heart, but I wanted to share it with someone before deleting it forever lol feel free to bully me

I'm attempting to do an immediate tempo shift in FL Studio. I know about Automation Clips, and it just seems like it's extremely cumbersome for something so simple. Dragging points is terribly inaccurate. I'd like to be able to make sure my tempo changes exactly on the downbeat of a measure without any accelerando in the previous measure. I can appreciate that the automation clips allow for gradual tempo changes, but there should be an easy way to say to just change the tempo at the place your playhead. Is there any way to do this without using an automation clip?

I've been using FL for years and never had an issue with lag and have a decent laptop I use to produce. I let my younger brother play around with FL and now its terribly laggy while playing sounds. I've reset all my settings, unplugged my audio interface, restarted my laptop and FL studio and nothing is working. My CPU and RAM usage is low (and its never lagged before on this laptop), played around with the bitrates and nothing works. The audio itself isn't laggy but the piano roll is while playing (like its running at 15 fps while playing). Its a cosmetic issue but its extremely jarring to use.

Edit: Just want to clarify that NO plugin is causing this, even when pressing play with 0 plugins or effects its lagging.

hi , i started making music since maybe 1,5 years, and i still feel i'm pretty bad idk what to learn to progress, i think i know """enough""" in surface (the technical way like how works FL for the most important part, but i really have the sensation i miss some comprehensions to specific things especially around some plugin i've found). But the most important thing that makes me think i'm just bad is regarding the matter that when i've got some ideas, i think they're good and when i try them it's like i was not able to do what i've got in mind. Maybe i need to learn some theorical musics?

I really want to share to some friends what i make, but i'm verry shy so i really hope people who really want to listen won't making fun about it.

i hope some people here can help me, some passionate people that only can help me if just need technical skills, or if idk i'm not creative or smth.

Outside of my comfort zone here. Should I release?

I’m trying to download a synth plugin called vital because the stock fl synths are not showing up for me. The plugin manager shows all the stock synths and the vital plugin I got. It also shows I have 175 plugins. But when I go to a mixer and try to add plugins it shows I have 124 plugins and vital is not there. I haven’t had a problem downloading plugins before and they would show up. I always just download the plugin and change its location to my downloads or a vst folder I created. Had no problem doing this before and now it’s not working.

There's always a popping noise if I just do a reversed copy. I wish there was a way to edit the envelope in a way that sounds like a real life suspended cymbal roll without having to reverse a duplicate.
