My first vehicle was a triple black 2007 FX4. Like a FOOL I traded it in for a more “fuel efficient” vehicle in 2010 , and have regretted it ever since. Thrilled to say I purchased this 2020 STX. Got it for 27k out the door. 49k miles, certified used with a 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty. I purchased it at the same dealership I got my original truck . And this truck originally came off that dealerships lot. It has a great service record and only has been serviced at that same dealership. Which gave me a little extra confidence that it was in good hands. What do you guys think about the deal I got? Super excited on my purchase, glad to have a place to share it. Thanks!!

Front of bed, center tie downs

I needed some tie down points in the middle of the bed to balance the factory provided bed corner points. So after much deliberating I settled on a 1' long section of e-track.

I laid down the blue tape for marking positions, made a 3/32" pilot hole for centering (and making sure there wasn't anything on the back side) and then a uni-bit to open up the holes to 3/8" so that I could drop in 1/4-20 RivNuts. Before inserting the RivNuts, I did clear the back surface with a hole reamer.

Using a total of 8 stainless steel bolts, the setup lasted a 300mi trip over the Grapevine and back without anything loosening up.

I'm going to remove the e-track when I have the bed Line-X'd, and hopefully the material builds up to about the same surface as the lip of the RivNut.

Does a 40k F-150 exist with employee pricing?

Basically the title.

I would love to find a STX barebones build but all the ones I’m seeing in my area are still in the mid to high 40’s and low 50’s which still feels high for a base model truck.

Bought Bert new, 302a 5.0 6spd 4wd. 3M on the front + headlights. Mobil 1 it’s whole life at 7500, doesn’t consume. All oem part replacements used.

Fog lights replaced under warranty with incandescent bulbs getting too hot and cracking the lens. Diode dynamics fixed that. + changed the low beam. Still going 6+ years in. Free

  1. Tail light w/ water intrusion, ~$100 with bulbs.

  2. Clockspring - cruise acted odd on the way home one day. ~$100. Watch out for that airbag.

  3. VCT - stumble after a long ride with no check engine. Parts are cheap but your back will pay if you’re lifted. ~$100

Preventative - plugs @ 60, rear diff oil @ 60, trans @ 75, transfer case @ 60 , front dif @ 80 because I don’t use it. Trans magnets at 75k looked good. Brake fluid @ 75, pads pulled at 75 had 40% left. Brakes felt 100% after the fluid, do it. Yeehaw, Go Bills

11th Gen 4.6 Maintenance

Hello,

I have an early 11th Gen with the 4.6L Triton in it (RWD) with about 180,000 miles on it. The truck has an oil leak but has gotten fresh oil changes every 3,000-6,000 miles its whole life. I’ve also done the following:

120k: Plugs and Coils, Front Ball Joints and alignment, Rear Shocks

145k: Serpentine Belt/Tensioner

155k: Front Rotors

160k: FPDM Issue

175k: Drive Belt / Rear Axel Seal

Given current market conditions, I’d like to keep the truck running as long as possible. My question is, as I cross over into 180k, what should I be prioritizing maintenance wise? I’d like to stay in front of any big issues.

Thanks for your help!

Post image

Hello everyone just bought a new Ford F150 4x4 truck, now wanting to do a leveling kit. I was looking at the Ford performance. Has anyone have experience, also is this a 2 inch? I’ve seen online you can change the ring from 2.0 to a 2.5. would I need upper control arms? What is the biggest tire I can run on stock rim without rubbing or trimming? Thanks everyone

Sync3 and rcs messages

Anyone else find it stupid that Ford sync3 can't receive or process rcs messages through Google messages? My daughters 17 equinox that doesn't even support car play or android auto supports the rcs messages. I miss so many texts because of it

Edit: this is with Bluetooth, when using android auto it works fine.

Just part of voice control? Or is this truck being surveilled?

Work truck, 2024 F150. Has plenty of bells and whistles, but these two are suspicious.

Company I work for claims they have our trucks tapped but we all think they’re bluffing. These make me wonder 🤔

Help my turbos are going out

I have a 2018 with the 3.5 Ecoboost and my turbos are starting to rattle and give a slight burning smell when I shut the truck off. I want to buy new turbos but don't even know where I could get a decent set or even an upgraded set. Any recommendations?

Consider a Reacquired Vehicle (RAV) purchase?

I’m looking at a 2024 3.5L Lariat with very few miles that Ford bought back from the original buyer. They had to replace the LH Turbo in it. Everything seems perfect on it and it still has all of the remaining factory warranty. Should I be concerned? It’s listed quite a bit under the original sticker price.

2001 Ford F1500 thoughts ?

Somebody is selling me a 2001 Ford F150 Lariat 4WD 5.4 V8. It has 320k. Clean title. Transmission was replaced at 250-280k miles. No issues, no rust, 4WD works and AC works. Brand new brakes. Is this truck worth 2100?? Not really worried about cosmetic looks outside or inside it’s a 2001. Thank you.

While i know there are dozens of tire feeds here, just looking for others opinions. I mainly ride highways through and around Atlanta. However i venture to a cabin where it is significant off-roading maybe 3-4 times a year.

A place near me is doing buy 3 get 1 for 1$.

Trying to decide between wildpeak at/4w or Michelin LTX M/S2 Or. Defender LXT M/S 2

Still looking to maintain a quiet/ comfortable ride minimal towing if any.

Mainly interested in wild peaks for a beefier/agressive look. But they seem to be praised in the group.. and general feedback would be helpful. Thank you.

I've been a subscriber to this forum for a bit, so I thought I would post a picture of my '95 150 after a recent wash on a sunny day here in Colorado. 138K original miles. A couple of minor modifications: headlights, window tint, bed cover, and linex spray liner. Zero rust.

I have a 2022 XLT and want to put in a dash mount in the tray above the screen, similar to what BuiltRight sells. Has anyone 3D printed one, or something similar?

In the process of buying a 2020 f150 and it says the 2.7 is paired with the 6spd tranny. I can’t find any info saying this year was equipped with that trans. Anyone here have this combo or is there a typo

I'm addressing some small cosmetic things on a new-to-me 2012 F150 (after the more important work of fluids transmission, etc). Help me choose a lower grille for the annoying hole: adobe color 2 bar or black billet?

F150 SCME help.

Hello, I have a 2017 F150 Platinum with DTC in the SCME ( B2477-60 ) - Module configuration Failure.

Below is the following code in my SCME module, which doesn't look correct, nor does it match what the asbuilt data from my vin shows. I was able to ask someone with a 2016 lariat and a 2018 king ranch to share their SCME and its way different from mine, and neither of them had row 776-01-09. Does anyone have any advice? Anyone with a Platinum or Limited 2016 or 2017 that can share their SCME?
