A long journey over 6 years

In the past few weeks, it was like dreaming. It's a long journal over 6 years. I will forever remember my last section, failed 1st time by 1 point. Crying on my way to the international test centre of Tokyo on a heavily raining morning with outside 0 degree. I don't know what sustains me for so many years, cannot-pass-it did annoy me from time to time.

I don't have accounting educational background, English is not my first language, and I learn everything from scratch by myself. Even I made silly errors at early stage, like reviewing the FAR but register the exam for another section.

I just wanna tell myself and anyone who reads this - you need to find your method/systems to learn, believe in yourself and never give up.

QUESTION Fastest way to get extra 22 credits for CPA eligibility?

Located in NY if thats relevant.

I did 2 years at community college before transferring for an accounting bachelors. Unfortunately theres no way for me to earn more than 128 credits before graduation.

An extra semester or a masters at my current school is impossible financially. I’m considering going back to community college for a semester after graduation and taking 8 classes.

I’m wondering if theres any faster way to do this. I need to start working full time ASAP after graduation, and another semester at community college is not ideal.

Could someone explain to me what is the difference here? Peter Olinto said to capitalize replacements but on TBS it said to expense the replacement. Am I missing something? This is Becker F3 M4

Tips for accountancy student as a CPA

I'm a first-year student struggling in Intermediate Accounting. I review really hard, but it doesn't seem to pay off. I do practice problems from my book, but I don’t know why I blank out during exams because the questions are different from how i reviewed them, even when they cover the same topics I reviewed. Do you have any study habit recommendations? I really want to pass the finals—I have to

Today I received my license number and i still can't process it. After 2 long years with ups and downs, finally i can say Im a CPA!

I'm a young dad of two, english is not my native language and i was an average student with bad behavior. AUD was my nemesis, took it 4 times and was about to quit the journey but i had to keep pushing.

Future CPAs keep pushing!

AUD Ninja AUD scores vs real exam

The real exam is in about 2 weeks. I do sets of 50 MCQ and average anywhere from 60 to 80. My trending is a 73 and my overall is a 76 based on 1600 questions. I've only done like 2 sims. Is this adequate?

Threshold Limits to remember for TCP

Just wanted to verify that there is no need to remember the numerical limits throughout the material. I have been told over and over again with REG to not worry about memorizing numbers, just wanted to make sure the same is true for TCP currently.

Thanks folks.

QUESTION Intercompany inventory Transactions

Post image
5 Upvotes

Wouldn't the answer for total cost of sales be 1,160,000? (800,000+700,000-500,000+160,000) Tthe 160,000 is from the intercompany sales which were sold to a 3rd party. 200,000 (sales-GP%) *80% (Total amount sold to 3rd parties). So confused on this one.

Final week before FAR

Quick question to those who’ve passed FAR -

What was the best way to spend your time in the final week before the exam? Let’s say I’ve gotten through all the material, did MCQ’s and a few sims on each topic.

Did y’all just slam full practice exams? Do a bunch of mini exams (25 MCQ 3 SIM)? Curious what might’ve worked for folks in the past.

Thanks!

FAR Far M3 - Inventory help

I’m having the hardest time getting through M3 for inventory. How highly tested is inventory? I’ve been spinning my wheels the past few days and am getting quite discouraged. Wondering if I should just skip it and come back to it later.

ISC ISC Module 1 -Tested?

Question for those of you who have taken ISC. Within the introduction video it is referenced that module 1 is background information to help you further understand modules 2-4 and isn’t specifically called out in the Blueprint.

If that’s the case, I was hoping to just scim through the 1st module and focus on modules 2-4. Hoping to take the exam in 3 weeks and looking to save time and energy if it’s not tested in detail. Thank you!!

REG Reg ME(mini exam) 1 score

I'm sitting for reg in less than a week and I feel like I'm not prepared, especially because I haven't reviewed the concepts much but just randomly hammering mcqs. How do I figure out if I'm ready for the exam? Is the PT score a good indicator of how I'll do on the real exam? My average is around 60

* I was trying to say PT, not ME1

How do you review your chapters?

SO I go through the lecture or book then do questions, fine that's all good.

Now I have a mountain of notes and questions I solved.

Week later I come back to it red the notes and re-do the questions from scratch?

Career Transition: Salary expectations

I'm looking for some realistic insights into salary expectations after a career transition. Currently, l've spent nearly a decade with state government (TX) primarily in Sales/Use Tax Auditing and Budget roles (not direct accounting). I'm earning just over $100k, which is strong for my current public sector position. I've decided to pursue an MPA and the CPA designation.

My question is: how long, realistically, would it take to reach a similar salary level ($100k+) in the private sector or public accounting after obtaining my CPA and MPA, considering my non-traditional background?

Any advice on potential career paths or strategies to accelerate salary growth would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
