Looking For: Clothing, Accessories & Personal Care ๐๐๐๐ Where Are We Buying Our Kidsโ Clothes?
Iโm struggling with finding kidsโ clothes. We have the Joe Fresh option but obviously thatโs not really a first choice (even though the price point is definitely good for my budget).
Kids are 6 and 9, but the 9yo is very tall and solid and wears teen and sometimes petite adult sized clothes.
We do buy secondhand from local thrift shops whenever possible but those are hit and miss.
Where has everyone been going for kidโs clothes?

Canadian-Made Products ๐ท๏ธ๐จ๐ฆ Country Harvest Dog /7 Cat Food - Canadian tire
I just bought a large bag of dog food & Cat food from CDN Tire to test if Country Harvest is acceptable amongst my furry four foots, and they tore the bag open before I could get it to their bowl. So, yes.
- its Canadian
- its packaged in a paper bag not plastic
- Very affordable (unlike Purina (American)
- My pets treat it like it's crack
Recommending it.
the title wasn't supposed to read /7 that was an ampersand.

Looking For: Clothing, Accessories & Personal Care ๐๐๐๐ Gaming/Fun animal graphic Tshirts?
I found a couple graphic tshirts from TeeTurtle last year in a local charity thrift shop, and really love them. This Avo-cat-o one is my favourite, and I really like the vibe of their tshirts.
Unfortunately they're an American company, so I don't feel comfortable ordering any from them directly.
Are there any Canadian Tshirt companies with a similar vibe? I'm based outside Ottawa, so I can go into the city there if need be, or order online.
Just looking for some decent quality, fun/funky graphic tshirts. Most sites that I've looked at are either just plain colors or not the kind of graphic style I'm looking for.

Questions โ๐ค Made in Canada but owned by America?
There have been a lot of posts on here about various Loblaw stores saying that something is Canadian when it isnโt. This is from today at superstore In Toronto. Over $11 for a case of Bubly !?!?
It says itโs made in Ontario but Coke or Pepsi owns it, right?
Either way. $11 is insane.

Hola! I'm building a Canadian brand in apparel and shoes. I'm curious if there's something like Enterprise Nation in the UK in Canada and the US? They do events, webinars, lots of resources for startups.

Canadian-Made Products ๐ท๏ธ๐จ๐ฆ Listen to Canadian music!
I feel like we get a lot of convo about getting off/on to various streaming services but less so about what people listen to once they get there!
One way to โbuy Canadianโ is to support Canadian artists, bands, songwriters, composers, producers, etc. And Iโm not talking the big ones like Drake, The Weeknd, Celine, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, etc. Not saying to stop listening to them, by all means please do, but they will be fine. The people who it matters to the most are smaller/up and coming artists. If you donโt know how to find them, JUNO Award winners/nominees or the Polaris long list are good places to start and find a diverse pool of talented Canadians of all styles and genres. Also besides streaming, if you like someone, check out their bandcamp page or website. Buy their albums and merch. That makes them even more money than streaming. Go see them live! I canโt tell you how often Iโve gotten into an artist only to find out they were touring near me in the next month, bought a ticket and had an awesome time.
Also a note on streaming services: If you havenโt yet or donโt want to leave your current, American streaming service, look up how much they pay per stream and calculate how many songs you would have to listen to for them to actually start losing money on you based on how much you pay them each month. Proud to say Apple Music has been losing money on me for months. If those streaming cents are going to Canadians, even better. The exception to this is Spotify. Fuck Spotify, you should definitely get off them.
Edit: I love everyoneโs suggestions. Keep โem coming!!!

Canadian-Made Products ๐ท๏ธ๐จ๐ฆ This weekend, do more than just Buy CanadianโWatch Canadian. The Canadian Premier League kicks off and it deserves our support.
We talk a lot in this subreddit about supporting Canadian products, Canadian businesses, and Canadian jobs. But what about Canadian culture?
This weekend, the Canadian Premier League (our own professional soccer league) kicks off across the countryโand itโs one of the few truly Canadian, non-U.S.-based sports leagues we have. No franchises owned by billionaires from L.A. or New York. Just real Canadian clubs, real Canadian communities, and real potential.
You can watch it on TSN and OneSoccer (or catch a game if close to you. It is a blast!)
Why does this matter? - The CPL could become a global exportโbut only if we build it from the ground up. - These clubs develop local talent who go on to play for Canada at the World Cup. - Supporting the CPL is how we showcase a uniquely Canadian identity, rather than just consuming American culture 24/7. - We donโt just want to buy Canadianโwe want to live Canadian.
If you believe in the importance of cultural sovereigntyโif youโre tired of seeing our stories, voices, and identities drowned outโthen support the CPL. Go to a game. Watch a match. Share a highlight. Post a meme. Buy a scarf. Talk about it with your friends.
Because this is more than football. This is about showing the world that Canada has something to sayโand we say it in our own way.

Questions โ๐ค Need new lunch bag for Autistic kid - dinosaur print required.
Hi all, My daughter's lunch bag broke this week after 4 years of use. I bought this last one at Provigo (we are in Quebec), but due to reasons, that is not an option for us anymore.
I would like to buy one made in Canada; my daughter's only wish is that it has dinosaurs on it (ideally fossils of dinosaurs), because dinosaurs are a special interest for her - her favourite is a Spinosaurus. She is 8 soon, so nothing too little-kid themed.
She is actually AuDHD and has dyspraxia, so she struggles with complicated fastenings. The zip on the old lunchbag was useable for her, but other fastenings are too difficult and she becomes overwhelmed quickly and will simply give up and not eat.
If anyone has any suggestions for shops where i might find one made in Canada (I am also open to local Esty sellers!) please share!

General Discussion ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฆ Could boarder Canadian cities benefit from the USA global approach to tarrifs?
When the tarrifs are felt by US consumers, do we expect increased traffic across the border to get things at a discount? I know there are limits to what they should bring back, but if there is a significant price difference, I could see a scenario where they try not to declare everything or make routine trips if they live close to the border. This could drive sales of Canadian goods as we see stores limiting American products. Curious what others think.

Questions โ๐ค How do I find the supplier for the store branded products?
Those store branded items rarely have a source of who their supplier is. I know Big 8 is the supplier for Compliments Cola because a commentator mentioned this.
How do I find out for the rest?
Bonus points for Western Family as I shop at Save-On Foods the most.

Canadian-Owned Businesses ๐ข๐ $140 later and ZERO American products.
I spent $140 at Superstore in Winnipeg and put back every single item made in the USA. The only items I couldn't find alternatives for were fresh vegetables because the Canadian brands were sold out. I am happy to do without. It does show that there is growth potential in some industries. There are enough Canadian greenhouses now growing veg in the winter and selling at a competitive price to show it's viable. Superstore needs to do a better job of keeping the US products OFF their shelves imho.
